Best (and only!) Frozen Custard in Nauvoo! Teenagers trying their best staff the front counter and do a pretty decent job. Custard was a bit grainy for some reason but was otherwise good. Simple ambiance with Religious themed paintings.

Cutest little custard shop right on the main strip. The workers were so sweet and super nice and helpful. The custard was great too. Smooth and creamy custard; perfect for a hot day.

Can't believe I had to pay more than a dollar per ounce. What a rip off.

I paid over $6 for two measly scoops of custard. There were only 4 options to choose from. You don't get what you pay for. Should have gone across the street for 3 times as much ice cream for a third of the price. It probably tasted way better.

Hot Waffle with Nutella flavored custard, whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Delicious!

Cute shop with delicious custard, wagon wheel cinnamon roll, and waffles! Friendly service too! Thank you!

Root Beer or Orange Bob, it's a Canadian thing... so they said. It's good!

We really liked our visit to Annie's. The custard is great, and the waffles delish! The owner was so sweet, she really made it fun to be there. She kept wanting to top off my slushy, just to make sure I got enough! Haha, so sweet. Sure, if you're gonna twist my arm! I recommend the Root Beer Bob.

Took a group of teenagers to tour the historic city of Nauvoo, Illinois. It was summer time and you can guess-extremely hot and muggy. After a couple days of nonstop info loading and touring, we had a break to shop. When we spotted this frozen custard shop, my hubby and I knew we had to stop and treat the teens. They all loved their custard inventions and enjoyed some time to sit, cool down, relax and read the funny reviews underneath the glass table weights. People from all over the world have written funny things, reviews, or just their name. Sort of an "I've been here" clean graffiti vibe. Thanks Annie for creating a fun atmosphere for our little band of weary travelers. And you can never go wrong with a scoop of custard.

Even the custard machines are happy. How is this not like Disneyland?!? Except smaller and $1,000 less. And no Dumbo ride.

The "Tornado" with vanilla and Heath bar? Shut the door. I'll drive a long way for that anytime. Best desert in town. Clean, friendly, yummy and just a good place. If you're a nice person they may give you the wifi password too, which, in Nauvoo, is kindof like oxygen since this is the town the cell companies forgot. Oh, and they take credit cards now. Some of the older reviews say otherwise.

I love custard but I like it when it's super fresh and soft but this custard was frozen and not my favorite.

No one answers the phone and they don't update any websites on their hours. Disappointing.

Review Visit: July 11th, 2016…read more Don't grandparents make the best food. While visiting Catfish Bend Casino, I figured I would see if there were any Ice Cream Shacks in the area. Luckily, I found one! So after the casino, I hit up Grandpa's to get some sweets. Parking here is pretty ample, so that's a huge plus. Inside is pretty spacious and they have a lot of flavors to choose from. Unlike a lot of Ice Cream Shacks, they only served ice cream and ice cream related things. No hot dogs, tenderloins, french fries here. I don't remember what I ordered from here, but I do remember it was pretty good. It scratched my itch but nothing beyond that. What really turned me off about this place was the worker behind the counter. His hygiene left a lot to be desired, which is reflected in my personal rating. I don't remember what he did, but it set off a red flag or two in my head as I watched him. But besides the one worker, it was a nice little place. I figured Burlington would offer a lot but this seemed to be the only ice cream shack that I could find on Yelp/Google.

Today was a beautiful 70 degree day so my Brother and I obviously had to go get some ice cream. but…read moreNo be did not go to Coldstone Creamery, or DQ, we went to Grandpas, for one simple reason. HOMEMADE!! This is a locally owned icecream shop, so no they don't have a fancy sign, no they don't have fancy cups, but I didn't come here for, fancy. I came to Grandpas to try their homemade icecream whose recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. I had the medium cone with one scoop of Dark Chocolate and one scoop Salted Caramel, and it was Delicious!! The chocolate was rich and the caramel was so smooth and creamy. You can taste the love! They also have a big selection of flavors that very from day to day and may sellout if you don't get there quick enough. You can buy a pint to take home with you, or even a brownie or cookie that they use to make their sundaes. Duh they have sundaes!! And I have to come back and try them! So should you!
