The apple pie was tasty, though it came in a to-go container, and my pancake arrived separate from my breakfast meal. I stopped here for breakfast and the place was super packed and loud for a week day morning, doesn't anyone work anymore. I got a dirty booth because seating was scarce which was cleaned for me. The meat lovers omelette sounded good vs the meat lovers plate but for $1 more the plate would have 3 times the meat vs the omelette so that's what I ordered. Ham, bacon and sausage in a patty or two links with two eggs and my server didn't even know what it was so she had to read the menu. The kitchen obviously didn't know what it was either because it had no bacon on my plate and extra sausage for $10.75. My over med eggs were cooked over easy with lots of runny yoke. The sausage patty and links were very mild and not zesty at all. The ham was good because it was real ham off the bone. Overall my breakfast was good even though it was not right and the $10.75 menu price turned into $8.97 some how that no one but me caught and since my plate was messed up I will just say it's a mistake discount. read more

Honestly gave up on the food in galesburg, I really wanted some breakfast and decided to give galesburg another shot. I went to this place and was greeted and serviced immediately, The staff was nice and made sure i had everything i needed regarding sauces and etc for me meal, as well as initiated conversation. Since i placed an order beforehand to pickup i didn't get to sit down but the place was absolutely PACKED, so that was a good sign to me at least. The building is pretty small, just enough to hold the horde of people, looks clean enough. As for the food i wish i took pictures before i ate it all, apologies. I ordered a mexican skillet which is hash browns, jalapeños, ground beef, and then eggs of your choice on top with cheese. Let me just say this, the hash browns are some of the best ige ever had at a breakfast spot. They weren't the typical undercooked or soft hashbrowns you usually get, they were golden brown and flavored just right. The ground beef and jalapeños had a nice chemistry, overall a simple meal but it tasted damn good. The french toast was pretty solid not the best nor close to the worst ive had, will definitely be coming back if i get a chance. read more

We spent a week in Galesburg from out of town and found this place the day before leaving. We ordered 2 steak & eggs platters to go. The steaks were over cooked, but the eggs, hash browns and toast were perfect! Despite ordering utensils & condiments at the same time I ordered our food, they didn't put any in the carry out bag. The online menu we ordered from said $8.50 for steak & eggs platters. So, I'm not sure how our total came to over $40! I'm still scratching my head on that, but I am in a wheelchair; so My husband went inside to pick it up and won't argue tab totals!! Mixed emotions, but we love breakfast! read more

First rate food, truly good. I had the omelet with beef, chicken, beef and chorizo. One of the best I've had. Outdoor dining under a tent was offered for safety during the pandemic. That was pleasant. One star lost because the coffee server didn't mask up. The food server did. Those masks are for the protection of guests, not just staff. Masks prevent transmission FROM the wearer. That's why doctors wore them before the pandemic during surgeries. I'd think twice about going back for that reason alone. Most of the guests were over sixty. The coffee was surprisingly bad. That's fixable. So is requiring staff to wear masks. I can overlook the coffee. If they get the mask situation fixed, I would love to go back. read more

This was the most unprofessional ghetto restaurant I've ever seen in my entire life. I Called in a pickup order for a veggie burger with ketchup mustard pickle and onion. It took about 45 minutes and when I got my burger it was plain with a pickle and onion sitting on the side, no ketchup, no mustard . So I went back in and asked "could you please put some ketchup and mustard on it so I can eat it before it gets cold. The waitress working "Kristie" was incredibly rude and said no we can't do that....insinuating they don't have ketchup and mustard squirt bottles which I happened to see everywhere. She practically threw some packets of ketchup and mustard at me, didn't apologize at all and claimed that they don't put sauce on takeout orders that rather the customer has to put it on themselves which I've never heard of before because that's super inconvenient for someone driving wanting to pick up a meal and go. My 87 year old Korean War Veteran father and I ate in this dirty diner and waited 45 minutes for our food and the owner screamed at me for asking why. She was extremely nasty and rude. We were on the verge of walking out!! He ordered liver and onions. I'm certain if she told us the meat was frozen, we would have made a different menu choice. In addition, customers eating in the diner should not have to beg for a refill on a cup of coffee or containers for left overs. To top it off we were over charged for our meal for the second time. We also did not appreciate having to see her run around the restaurant scantily dressed. The first time, she wore a dress that allowed her breasts to spill out all over the place, this week was a white pair of pants in which you could see what she had for lunch! Very tacky and unprofessional...no need to worry we will NOT be back!! I have since read many reviews on this Dirty Diner of customers with similar experiences which is no surprise.
