I use to love this place. This was my go to place for a year. This past week my furbaby had here last appt their. The original groomer was absolutely the best but fortunately she quit. This past week my furbaby had appt with the new groomer and it didn't go good. One she was late, 2x she cut my baby several times and failed to tell me, 3rd her cut was awful!!! I called when I got home and the lady upfront was rude but said bring her back on Friday at 10am. So, I brought Bliss there at 10am. And again... the groomer was late-- uggg I didn't want that groomer touching my dog I didn't trust her but that wasn't an option according to them. OMG he is so adorable I can see his face now . I don't know how Dara did it because I couldn't get near him with clippers. I WISH I COULD GIVE 0 STARS. Overall, they did a semi-decent job grooming my puppy. (and even saying that is being extremely nice). I have a 1-year-old Corgi mix who has serious separation anxiety and gets very anxious around strangers. Upon arriving at Annie's Grooming Tails there was not a single person in the front lobby and we had to wait upwards of 10 minutes just to be checked in. From there, they asked maybe 3 questions about my dog (who had NEVER been there before) and then asked us what we wanted to be done with her. I told them she NEEDED A TRIM of her ears, paws, and butt, and that she WAS NOT TO BE SHAVED. When I returned 3 hours later to pick up my dog, they had shaved her butt and her stomach, they cut the fur from her ears, legs, tail, paws, and her back... Not to mention after paying I realized her tags were missing when we got to the car. My boyfriend went back inside to ask where they were and the lady at the front desk said they were missing and went to go find them. My boyfriend returns to the car with her tags broken, and I go back into the business for the third time. After asking a groomer if I could speak to someone I hear the original front desk lady say "Now I have to deal with Crystal's fucking dog" as she walks around to the front. I calmly explain what happened and asked why my dog's tags had been broken. I was met with an attitude and I was told that they did not remove my dog's collar when they put her into the kennel and that she got snagged on the door of the kennel. The woman also tried to shift the blame onto the groomer, saying that she should have told me to take my dog's tags with me when I left EVEN THOUGH the groomer told me I could leave them on my dog and that SHE would take them off of her. They could not tell me how long my dog was stuck like that, but I could tell it was for long enough that my dog was terrified. I told the lady that it was unacceptable and that I would not be returning to their establishment ever again. My dog could have been seriously hurt or even killed because of their lack of care and attention to detail. Not only did they not do what I asked them to do in terms of grooming my dog, but they also could have seriously hurt her due to their ignorance. I DO NOT recommend this grooming service to anyone and I will never bring my dog here again because she is now traumatized from being stuck in their kennel and nearly choking to death. read more

I have been a very good customer for for quite some time at this place and the girl Gena with blonde hair totally went crazy on me in the front when I questioned her about my dog why is my dog bleeding like crazy she just said that was a normal reaction and I said my dog has never bleed that way my poor dog is crying in the backseat with blood all over her from the damage they did to my dogs feet I have never had a problem with a groomer at this place it was a guy that cut her up I knew something was wrong when it took him so long I don't even think he was a licensed groomer. Gena at the front desk was already in a bad mood as soon as I walked in the door she was on a personal phone call talking to somebody and it obviously got her in a bad mood not only did she take it out on her customer but my poor dog is injured now and I will stop at nothing to make sure that this place gets reprimanded for hurting my poor dog my dog is had her nails cut all her dog life and never have I had a problem like this before I will be taking my dog to the vet and if this place don't make it right I will stop at nothing to make sure they do. The lady even called me a bitch you do not speak to customers that way . I am beyond upset and very irritated that they hurt my dog. and this was just 1 foot they did it to two with blood all over her white coat. and also this is the same woman that runs the daycare for the dogs and every time I've ever went up in there there's dog feces on the floor there's urine so if you keep your dog there for doggy day care I think I wouldn't do it they definitely don't take care of your dogs during the day. I think I'm gonna call The Horry county health inspection out for an inspection of this place because at this point maybe this place is breaking some health rules when it comes to operating a place like this. With how dirty the doggie daycare center is with the dog feces everywhere and the urine. and if you look at their reviews there were other people complaining about how they take care of peoples animals during a hurricane. I took my pup Sasha there today for the first time to be groomed and and when they handed her to me she looked fine and I asked how she did and they said she did good. I got home home noticed her right was oozing. I picked her up and my boyfriend looked at it and noticed it was blood. Upon examining her eye we noticed her bottom lid was completely cut and bleeding. I have not called the groomer yet but will be calling in the morning and will not be taking my dog back nor would I recommend them to anyone! read more

I brought 4 of my poodles here today. We have not been able to return north for 4 months due to covid fears. My poor littles really needed a grooming. This salon was wonderful from start to finish. They were on top of returning calls thanks to Trish at the desk and a gentleman whose name i didn't get. Darla was our groomer and she did a phenomenal job with my senior special needs babies. Absolutely fantastic! We brought Clark here for grooming, and as he has extreme separation anxiety, the staff took the time to get to know him and make him feel comfortable. The staff are great listeners and take the initiative to best care for each pet on an individual basis, which is much appreciated in Clark's case. They didn't seem phased one bit which tells me they have a lot of experience with different personalities. I brought my mini poodle to be groomed at Annie's grooming tales today, unfortunately my dog came home with several cuts under her belly from the razors. She has been licking the cuts, I'm sure she is hurting. I really hope it doesn't get infected though. Experienced groomers should be professional enough to not hurt the dogs like that. read more

I love Annie's Grooming Tails! This is the only place I bring my dog to get her nails cut. It's only $7 for a nail trim, and the staff is great. Many other local groomers treat you differently if you don't have a pure bred dog, or just want a nail trim, but not Annie's. They are very kind to my little mutt and always friendly to me. I no longer live in SC, but I have to write this review because every time I have to take my dogs elsewhere to be groomed or boarded, I think "God, I miss Annie's." I live in Ohio now, but when I moved to Wilmington, NC I would drive all the way back down to Surfside when it was time for my little mutt to be groomed. The staff was just phenomenal (they genuinely loved animals and caring for them, which made me feel better), pricing was fair, and they always did such a good job. I had to have my lab mix boarded there for a week on short notice and I was terrified to leave him as he had never been boarded, and when I came back he was happy, healthy and they even gave him new toys while he was there! I've been to tons of different groomers since moving, and none of them make me as happy as Annie's did. I miss you guys!! read more

Today was the first time given Annies a try. I was tired of seeing my dog mishandled at the big box pet store groomers. I took my shepherd for a bath and nails and they were awesome with him. He didn't try to leave like he did at the other place. He seemed relaxed which made me feel good. I left him and they said they would call if he was done before noon. The place is GREAT & I've NEVER had an issue with the grooming or the treatment of the dog. So your dog was outside having a good time, woop'd dee doo, don't crucify the business over it. Took our 3 dogs to get bathed and receive full treatment fo $95...bad mistake. Dogs were bathed, but that was it. 2 were done good, one was still dirty. Note: these are well behaved house dogs. One dog had nail cut completely off and needed vet visit. Only 9 nails total were trimmed between all 3 dogs! Ears were not cleaned, teeth trearment wasn't done. PLACE WAS OUT OF CONTROL!!!! 2 workers on site trying to bathe dogs, groom dogs, take care of front desk AND attend to the 30 or so dogs that were being boarded, with about 10 of them just running around loose and causing havoc! We never give bad reviews but this was a necessary exception. read more

I don't generally complain - I know some days are better than others for every business. The last time I brought my shih tzu here, they knicked his chest (no wound, just no hair). The time before that, I had to take him to the vet for water in his ears that caused an ear infection. So I decided to take him to The Groomer on 707. They did a great job, but I tried to make an appointment and they're so popular, I had to wait 3 weeks, so decided to give Annies one more chance. There's a sign on the door "masks required"... while I get there's the big mask debate, some of us are medically vulnerable, so we try to stay vigilant. I went in and no staff was wearing a mask, there was a customer without a mask and another customer came in behind me without one (from out of state - he was in a camper). Regardless, I simply stated "I'm medically vulnerable so I'll just wait outside". Well, when the woman came out in front of me, not only did they not come get me, but when I walked inside, the guy who came in after me was at the counter, badmouthing me to the staff. I wasn't rude or offensive. I get it that it's not the staff's fault, but it kinda is since they should enforce the "mask required" sign on the door or at the very least, not engage in such rudeness. The area is not large enough to maintain social distancing with 5 people in the lobby. I'm not sure what happened to the people who used to be here, but I really liked them MUCH better. I won't make this mistake again. I'll wait the 3 weeks to go to a much more professional place where my dog isn't scared to death to be left with them. I gave 2 stars because this time, they did a great job on his grooming, but I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

I love this place and so does my puppy. We've been there a few times since we moved here and they always have room for us. Kodi loves going here to play with the other puppies. When it's time to go home he always tries to drag me back in. I can't say enough good things about this place, grooming was wonderful also he smelled so good for weeks, plus the prices are reasonable. Jen is so comforting to a very nervous mom. Annie's is by far the best grooming place for your pets in Myrtle Beach/Surfside! Me and my husband moved from New York two years ago and we started taking our pets to be groomed at Banfield . My husband and I were less than satisfied with their services. We found this Gem about five months ago. We will now never use any other grooming place besides Annie's. Not only are they The friendliest staff ever but their love and devotion to these animals really shows. It's such a comforting feeling knowing when we drop our pups off that they are in good hands. Joe & Jenn are the owners and they could not be nicer ! It's always a pleasure to see them ! I also could not believe when I had referred my mother to go there with her pups and she's from New York City and said that in all her years of having dogs she is never seen facility like Annies ! My mother is disabled and it's hard for her to get around when the owner offered to pick up my mom's dogs since she is handicapped and take them home I was overwhelmed with shock! Who does this? I have been taking my 8 month old puppy shih-tzu to Annie's Grooming Tails since January 2016. For 3 months, Sophie (my doggie) has loved going to doggie day care, getting her baths, spending time with other like size doggies. Jennifer and John, the owners, take such an interest in each and every dog. Sophie is greeted every time with hugs and kisses and loves her warm welcome. She is relaxed and happy when I pick her up, not stressed or exhausted. I can't compliment Jennifer enough. Her kindness and care of Sophie made my winter snowbird visit to Surfside Beach so much happier. I wish I could clone her. It's a caring business, more like a home away from home for my doggie. Horrible!! We were forced to board our 6 month old puppy. We were hesitate to board him anyway. I feel so bad that we did. We took him to Annie's grooming tails for a 5 day stay. During his stay I called to check on him, the girl that answered the phone told me that she took him and another dog outside and forgot that she had taken them out there but they are playing and having a good time when she remembered they were outside. Guess she thought that made up for forgetting about him!! We had him groomed during his stay. I thought we made it clear that we just wanted his face, feet and sanitary areas cut but retured to find him completely shaved!! Also he lost 4 lbs while he was there!!! He is a very light eater at home but ate 3 cups of food and drank two bowls of water as soon as we got home!!! Also when we picked him up she said it was probably time for him to go to the bathroom and he couldn't get to the grass soon enough!!! Please do not take your dogs here!!! We have been using Annie's to board our dog while we travel. During the past eleven months we have boarded our dog close to fifteen times; sometimes for over a week at a time. Our dog is always happy to go to Annie's and we have always appreciated that the staff knows her by name. The atmosphere of this Kennel/doggie day care is not pretentious, it is relatively simple. The prices are very reasonable and they have a rewards program for frequent customers. There are other places that put fancy paint and decor in the front, but that is for the owners, not the dogs. We are very happy with Annie's for boarding. Staff is friendly, flexible hours even on holidays, variety of locations for dogs to be while being boarded including interior kennel, multi dog play area, outdoor area etc. Our dog always happily goes back with the staff when we drop her off and she returns home seemingly happy and comfortable. LIFESAVERS!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them! Found out upon arrival to our condo that pets were no longer allowed. Thankfully found Annie's on Yelp and called first thing SUNDAY morning (when most other places are closed!) in a panic and asked if they had boarding availability for the week. Trish squeezed us in and since we're from out of state and didn't have our vaccination papers, she even allowed my veterinarian to call her to confirm. We dropped our beloved pup, Zeus, off shortly after. We were allowed and encouraged to stop by and see him anytime - which we did, randomly, each day, and they never seemed annoyed or put out. Zeus was always happy and looked well taken care of, and there were always lots of other clients dropping off/picking up their pets, which is a great sign; in fact, he was doing so well we extended his stay an additional day! We could not have been happier - the staff treated us like local regulars, took great care of our Zeusy, accommodated us in a pinch, very last minute during a very busy week, and the pricing was BEYOND reasonable. THANK YOU, thank you SO much - we love you guys, Zeus had a great time (it is three days later and he is STILL exhausted, lol!), and we are looking forward to seeing you again in November! read more
