Rascal Had been going to Dogs Way Inn for many years when recently we needed to kennel our dog for a family trip. Unfortunately, we had one of the worst experiences any pet owner can imagine. Our dog was staying for nine nights from 7/12-7/20 and the condition I found our dog was quite frankly disgusting. I knew something was wrong when the first thing the receptionist said was, Oh, I'm supposed to tell you that your dog has had diarrhea since he got here and we've been giving him something to try and help. Hello, did anyone call my wife or I to inform us of this? Or ask about giving him something without our knowledge? NOPE. Did anyone call me or my wife later in the week to tell us he is still having issues? NOPE. Upon seeing him and taking him out to the truck, his entire rear was covered in feces! Did anyone clean him up to present to me? NOPE. What kind of kennel hires employees who don't take the time to fully check the dog over that they are bringing out? Do they just not care? When I walked him out to the truck he was so lethargic, he could hardly get up into the truck. I immediately drove to our local Vet who recommended some meds to stop the diarrhea and suggested I try and get a stool sample. Unfortunately, he was so lethargic and I subsequently discovered completely dehydrated that it wasn't possible. Upon getting home and a much closer look at his condition, I noticed something red around the side lips of his mouth. He was bleeding on both sides of his mouth from complete dehydration. We tried to give home some water, but he wasn't interested. When the gave him a thorough cleaning. Unfortunately, his fur is stained with the constant feces that was on it. Later in that morning my wife received a call from the receptionist who said we would be getting a phone call Amy later in the day and now offered a free bath? It's now Wednesday and Amy finally called my wife and asked about our dog and if there was anything they could do? Where was the care and concern when we left him in your custody? Really, over 48 hours after we've picked him up and literally round the clock care by us we finally get a call? Wednesday morning was the first day he has had a some what normal stool which we could take to the Vet for testing. His mouth is healing but he has some hanging skin on the side that may need further attention. He is slowly getting his strength and energy back and having an appetite. But should any pet owner have to go thru this? Absolutely not! read more

I would never ever recommend this facility. There have been incidents where the dogs have been verbally and physically abused...thrown around, kicked, slapped and so on. I have seen it first hand. Most of the staff is good. But there are some things I won't mention about a other staff member. The grooming I would recommend. The groomer does an excellent job! read more

We have taken our Lab Buster here several times and for an extended stay. Very happy with this place. Dog loves going there. Grateful to have it so close to us. I would recommend ADogsWay to anyone who wants their pet to be happy and be well taken care of. read more

We had to leave town at the last minute for a family emergency, and needed to scramble for a place to board our dogs. Dog's Way Inn was so kind and helpful in getting us set up quickly. My two dogs were able to stay together in a "suite". They took them out to play four times a day, and gave them the medicines that they needed. When I came to pick them up, my normally timid dogs were perky and happy and tail waggy. They had so much fun and playtime, that they conked out for two full days once I got them home! We will definitely be coming here again. read more

Between the caring employees and the lovely dog park on premises, this was a wonderful experience for our dog and our family. There are many things I love about A Dogs Way Inn. Here are the main ones: First, the dog park. It's a short walk across the parking lot from the main kennel to a lovely fenced in park with a pond and lots of trees. During our week at the beach we stopped by to take our dog to the park several times. She loved running around off leash. My sister's dog enjoyed fetching balls from the pond. Second, the facility is extremely well run. We could tell because our normally shy rescue dog didn't balk at going in to the kennel when we brought her back from the park. It was wonderful to see walk calmly away from us with one of the attendants. She never does this anywhere else. Third, the attendants clearly pay attention to and care about the dogs. Each time we came to take Kira to the dog park we were treated to a little story about which dogs she played with outside and something cute she had done. We really appreciated those anecdotes. We are so glad to have found this lovely place to board our dog and will be back again next year. read more

I only have boarded my boxer her once. I had no complaints. It was about three years ago. They told me they loved Bacon Bitz. While checking out, my 3 year old wanted a toy for the dog. I keep saying NO. They just let him take it. That warms my heart. read more

This place is wonderful. We boarded our dog while vacationing at the beach since our rental house did not allow dogs. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We were able to pickup our dog daily to either take her to the beach or let her run around in the, on premises, dog park. Even if you are not boarding, the dog park is great. It is a very large fenced in area where your dog and run off leash. It features a pond and shaped areas as well as nice open areas. We sat in the shade and watch our dog have fun. We will definately be back. read more

We recently boarded our English Mastiff at A Dog's Way Inn to utter disappointment and would not suggest boarding here. We had our dog boarded for 6 days, when we picked her up on a Monday she had badly cut her tongue the previous Saturday on chicken wire. Why there was chicken wire near her kennel we do not know. They did not try to contact us or our vet, not once! We immediately took her to the vet and found out the cut was severe and infected. She had also lost over 10lbs while being boarded from the inability to eat. The kennel owner did not apologize or try to compensate us for the kennel bill or vet bill in any way but only made excuses. An accident is one thing but ignoring an injured pet while being paid to take care of them is just cruel and unnecessary. I would not even give them the one star recommendation. read more

This was our first time using this place for boarding. From the moment we walked in the door the staff was very friendly and inviting! We were offered a tour and the man showing us around was very aware that these are our babies! He explained the day to day routine and ensured us they would be in the very best care. We were also able to visit our pups while they were boarding- since we were vacationing 5 minutes down the road- and even took them to the huge gated park they have set up. Our dogs were happy when we picked them up, the staff truly cares about animals and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. read more

we visited A Dog's Way Inn yesterday as we are new to Murrells Inlet and are looking for quality care for our dog. There is no quality there and I would be careful leaving your beloved dog there. Horrible conditions and the day care dogs are left in cages not runs. I was so upset leaving there for the dogs in their facility. Damp, dark, dirty. Be careful. read more

We are locals who use A Dog's Way Inn weekly, and we LOVE it! Our small, high-energy dogs go for doggie day care once a week and are excited to go there ~ they LOVE it too! We have boarded our dogs there as well and know that they are well cared for and supervised. In addition to the caring staff, the owners are hands-on people who live on the property and have closed circuit access to all areas of the kennel, even from their home. Our dogs come home looking healthy and happy after each stay, either for day care or boarding. We have recommended A Dog's Way Inn to several friends and neighbors, who have been equally as pleased as we are. My sister and her husband, who first refereed us to ADWI, have two dogs, 1 large and 1 medium, both of whom also are always excited to be there. So that would make 2 families, including 4 dogs, who HIGHLY recommend A Dog's Way Inn! Call them for a tour, meet the staff and let your dog experience their care. We decided to visit Myrtle Beach this year instead of our usual trip to Florida. My son, who is in college, got a new dog this year. Since she is at our home quite alot we have all become very attached to her. We decided that we couldn't leave her in Indiana for a whole week so I started to search the web for a boarding kennel at Myrtle. There were a good number of different places but A Dog's Way Inn caught my attention. I made a reservation and we brought her along. I want to say that I was extremely pleased with Gabby's stay and treatment. If dogs could talk, I also think Gabby was thrilled! The supervision is very professional and the facility was everything we had hoped for. Gabby is a bull terrier and they don't seem to smile alot but you could tell that even though she was glad to see us when we visited a couple times and took her to the beach, her tail always started to wag and you could tell she was happy to stay there. read more
