Was paying for used oil at Annies but husband got greedy and took my money but gave somebody else the oil for last two months (double dipping) Taking multiple peoples $ but only 1 person gets the oil. SHADY! Not an honest way to do business. read more

We saw the sign while driving and decided to give this place a try. I'm so glad! My shrimp was well seasoned and grilled to perfection. The star of the show, though, was the Cole Slaw! So rich and creamy it could almost be dessert! I will be back. read more

First off I think the changed the name to Cajun Cravin's. The place was amazing. We had: frog legs, oysters, catfish, shrimp, hush puppies, corn, potatoes, fries, alligator. Everything was great. Prices were excellent. Service was friendly. Will be here every single time we come in town. read more

Authentic Cajun Food! An assuming building that packs a punch for Cajun food lovers. We were traveling from Dallas back home to Port Aransas and looked for something to eat for dinner. We read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. My husband got the combination plate with crawfish and shrimp and fried okra and corn on the cob. It was a bountiful feast and the remoulade sauce was amazing. I got the fried shrimp basket and was easily able to substitute fries for any of the veggies and I too chose the corn on the cob. The corn had Cajun seasoning on it and it was juicy and buttery. The okra seemed to be garden fresh. And the shrimp were cooked well and wonderful. They also do catering and orders for large parties. What a nice place. Got to sit out on the deck and drink your own beer and eat crawfish. The crawfish are real good, nice spice. The wife says mine are to hot to eat. So this worked well for her. They did have a nice spice to them We also split the fried shrimp. Nice light batter that doesn't still from the flavor of the shrimp. The only drawback was the service. Extremely slow but that is kind of what you want when you get out of the rat race of the big city. Kinda nice to slow down and enjoy read more

Annie's on 290 IS OPEN as of April 2023. Sometimes their hours vary due to staffing and supply issues. They are well known for their Cajun food with seasonal Cajun delicacies and it is a bit of a secret but they also make an excellent grilled chicken and red Cajun potatoes bowl and grilled or fried chicken salad that are both out of this world for those of you who are the odd duck (no pun intended and no..they don't serve fancy pants duck or the like) in your seafood loving family. Service speed varies as the kitchen is small and the hours are only semi-firm as mentioned earlier. Some of the pics you'll find on the web are out of date as they expanded at some point. Passing through a small town usually means a crap shoot for food. Yelp, don't let us down! Well, we were just told that the fryer had been shut down (it's 3:30 in the afternoon) and it would be at least a half an hour before any food could be ready. This came after waiting for a few minutes for some one to come out to greet us and she looked sleepy. Maybe it was siesta time (and, no, they weren't Mexican). We stopped into Annie's by chance on our way to Austin from Houston in the middle of a big rainstorm- and we are so glad we did!! The crawfish étouffée was perfection on a plate! The fried shrimp basket was crispy and delicious! Our starters of fried pickles and spicy onion rings were ridiculously tasty! We had Ed's gumbo. And man can I say it's some award winning stuff especially the sausage. Louisiana catfish pasta was soooo good. The Catfish was hand battered and fried to perfection. I would definitely recommended this to everyone. Enjoy. read more

Stopped on the way back from Austin. The place is a small capacity hole in the wall, but the food was great. The fried shrimp were freshly prepared and the side dishes were great. This is a local place but clearly gets some traffic off of 290. Service is a bit slower but that fits with the "you order, we cook it' vibe. Take out is also available. read more

I am wondering if the people who are giving all these 5 star ratings are related to the owner. I normally dont write these but since yelp said ya'll were good, I have to put my 2 cents in. To start, horrible service with even more horrible food. I was driving through on my way to Houston and had a craving for some seafood. I got the crawfish which was cold and mushy. So gross! My daughter ordered catfish. That was not catfish. I am in the food industry business and I know food. That was not catfish! That is SWAI! They were out of gumbo, but it was late in the day. The gals who took our order were sweet. Very friendly. The food. The food was excellent. I had the crawfish étouffée over catfish. Very filling, and scrumptious. Hubby had shrimp étouffée. He scraped every bit he possibly could. I'm surprised he didn't lick the plate. The kids had Mac and cheese with corn and corn dogs with corn. My 5 yr old ate all of her Mac and cheese and corn. This place could rival any big city restaurant! Why did I give it 4 stars? Because when I pulled up, I assuming it was the chef, was smoking. Now granted you can see 3 sides of the building when you pull up, so there really wasn't another place to go. But there was 1 other pair of customers there. It was a slow night. It's just my personal preference, which isn't worth much. Would I come back? Absolutely! There is no better etoufee outside of New Orleans. Wonderful little patio to sit on. Hush puppies were a little expensive but very old.

Had the fried shrimp plate with french fires and hush puppies, not very impressed. The shrimp, I have to say, were the best part of the plate; they tasted very fresh & the seasoning used was tasty. The fries weren't distinguishing, run of the mill fires; the hush puppies weren't disappointing, they were a tad above average I'd say. The atmosphere here was very comforting, more than I can say for the price. read more

My husband almost pulled out of the small parking lot when he saw the clean but tiny building. I told him it was probably really good food and it was. We enjoyed the shrimp & catfish but my favorite was the crawfish tails!! If I find myself coming through Giddings again I'd love to go back and try some of the other favorites! The fried okra was standard issue, but the french fries were, thankfully, not battered, well cooked, and hearty. Remember, this is little Giddings. Annie's is ok. Tiny little spot. It took 20 min from the time we got seated til we got menus and it was not even crowded. Another 20 to get food. Catfish was good. Fried pickles were really good! But I wouldn't make a trip to G-town just to eat here. read more
