Here's the Menu.... The Best place to eat in Giddings TX. I absolutely love the fried catfish, pasta and salads here

First off I think the changed the name to Cajun Cravin's. The place was amazing. We had: frog legs, oysters, catfish, shrimp, hush puppies, corn, potatoes, fries, alligator. Everything was great. Prices were excellent. Service was friendly. Will be here every single time we come in town.

Authentic Cajun Food! An assuming building that packs a punch for Cajun food lovers. We were traveling from Dallas back home to Port Aransas and looked for something to eat for dinner. We read the reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. My husband got the combination plate with crawfish and shrimp and fried okra and corn on the cob. It was a bountiful feast and the remoulade sauce was amazing. I got the fried shrimp basket and was easily able to substitute fries for any of the veggies and I too chose the corn on the cob. The corn had Cajun seasoning on it and it was juicy and buttery. The okra seemed to be garden fresh. And the shrimp were cooked well and wonderful. They also do catering and orders for large parties. Don't miss this gem in Giddings, Texas!

What a nice place. Got to sit out on the deck and drink your own beer and eat crawfish. The crawfish are real good, nice spice. The wife says mine are to hot to eat. So this worked well for her. They did have a nice spice to them We also split the fried shrimp. Nice light batter that doesn't still from the flavor of the shrimp. The only drawback was the service. Extremely slow but that is kind of what you want when you get out of the rat race of the big city. Kinda nice to slow down and enjoy

We stopped into Annie's by chance on our way to Austin from Houston in the middle of a big rainstorm- and we are so glad we did!! The crawfish étouffée was perfection on a plate! The fried shrimp basket was crispy and delicious! Our starters of fried pickles and spicy onion rings were ridiculously tasty! We will definitely be back out here- probably before our next trip to Houston! The simple ambience, small space and super friendly, polite service were added bonuses to the great food :)

Stopped on the way back from Austin. The place is a small capacity hole in the wall, but the food was great. The fried shrimp were freshly prepared and the side dishes were great. This is a local place but clearly gets some traffic off of 290. Service is a bit slower but that fits with the "you order, we cook it' vibe. Take out is also available.

Fabulous buffalo shrimp!!! I was completely surprised when they brought the plate out and you get two sauces with it! Will visit again for sure!

Crawfish étouffée over catfish and a bed of rice. Very good. So filling!

They were out of gumbo, but it was late in the day. The gals who took our order were sweet. Very friendly. The food. The food was excellent. I had the crawfish étouffée over catfish. Very filling, and scrumptious. Hubby had shrimp étouffée. He scraped every bit he possibly could. I'm surprised he didn't lick the plate. The kids had Mac and cheese with corn and corn dogs with corn. My 5 yr old ate all of her Mac and cheese and corn. This place could rival any big city restaurant! Why did I give it 4 stars? Because when I pulled up, I assuming it was the chef, was smoking. Now granted you can see 3 sides of the building when you pull up, so there really wasn't another place to go. But there was 1 other pair of customers there. It was a slow night. It's just my personal preference, which isn't worth much. Would I come back? Absolutely! If you're in the mood for some amazing Cajun food, I highly recommend this place!

We started with the French Fried Onions, a bit too greasy for me but tasty. It is served with ranch dressing. I do not like ranch dressing so I asked for a side of BBQ sauce. We ordered the Prime Rib, which was delicious, came with a side and one trip to the salad bar. The salad bar is well stocked and fresh. I will also state the service was very nice. I have two complaints and they are connected. Earlier I stated that I asked for a side of BBQ sauce since I do not like ranch dressing. That was provided however no mention that it was at an additional charge. All you have to be upfront and say there is an additional charge for your request. I can then decide if I want that item and what the charge is. Since neither were provided, I was surprised to see it on my bill. I did not question the charge, it was just deleted from the tip. I will probably return however this is a teaching moment, if you are going to charge extra for a client's request, tell them you are and what the charge is. If not for this issue, my rating would have been higher.

We were on our way…read moreto college station and wanted to get something to eat as we got closer to our destination. We checked Yelp for something other than Mexican food and this place had really great reviews. As soon as we walked it we knew it was going to be good. The menu isn't too large, which to me meant that they have spent a lot of time perfecting the things that are on the menu. The service was really good and as soon as we sat down, we ordered a couple of sodas and the Boudin balls. We took a couple minutes to look at the menu and everything looked really good, but the spicy chicken sandwich was really calling out to both of us. So we ordered those one with potato salad and one with rice. The Boudin balls were delicious. They were pretty large in size and the sauce that it came with had a little bit of a kick to it. My favorite thing was that it was mostly meat on the inside and the flavor was incredible. Same with the chicken sandwich. It also had a kick and by the time I was done my mouth was pretty warm. I thought the potato salad was a great way to help cool it off, and it was just as good as the sandwich. I loved the batter on the chicken, and I thought the bun was toasted perfectly. This would be a place I would go to regularly if I lived in the area. Parking was pretty tight and most of the spots were taken up so we did park in a spot we weren't supposed to, but luckily we didn't get towed!

When I tell you the spirit of Louisiana and NOLA was in the place! So you will miss the place if you aren't paying attention. The sign is small and the building looks like it used to be a church fellowship hall. It's not fancy and it's small, however, don't discount it. Don't judge a book by its cover and great things come in small packages. It's a family owned and run business. By the looks of it, it can probably seat 40 people and I'm pushing it with the number. However from the time you walk in until the time you leave, you feel like you're at your great aunt's house. It was five of us and when you walk in, it's seat yourself and first come, first serve. The food came out piping hot and cooked fresh. My husband and brother-in-law got the catfish platter with red beans and rice (no pork) and Mac-n-cheese. My sister and I got the Nawlins boil that had a crab cluster, shrimp, corn, potato, boiled egg and a sausage link. My nephew got a shrimp po-boy with fries. The food was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The fish and fries were crispy. The Mac-n-cheese isn't creamy but it isn't dry. Perfect amount of cheese and flavor. The red beans and rice had the perfect balance of flavor. The boil...my goodness the boil. They have the amount of the boil down to a science to make it a full meal. At first glance, I didn't think it would be seasoned well because the season looked like a dry rub. It wasn't saucy or juicy - until I took my first bite. I almost walked to the kitchen to kiss the cook. They are not skimpy on any of the food either. Even the po-boy had an overload of shrimp. When we were there, it was a packed house. There was also a large party who was rather disgruntled - not because of the service or food but because they were impatient. Remember this is a family owned business with 2 servers and maybe 3 cooks that cook to order. So if you're looking for quick food, this isn't the place. If you have time to sit, enjoy some great food with great company in a casual home style restaurant...this is your place.

The website mentioned reservations but accepting walk-ins also; my wife made a reservation for 8 at 7:40p, and that turned out well, as the couple in front of us hadn't done so & went out front to wait. We had a very attentive waitress, & sat on a raised stage by the window which was cool, but note: tall chairs there maybe not great for short legs. When she poured our water we didn't have to request, she left the carafe, which I supposed was a labor saving idea --until she came back repeatedly and refilled our glasses with it! It aided our date night that the two flat screens had artworks displayed not a basketball game or Chive videos of folks getting injured for 15 seconds of fame. Menu is in the upper middle price range for us but we did an easy work-around to get some upscale food, anyway:: We ordered a bowl of gumbo from the appetizer list, with two spoons; (yeah, been married 41 years)... Arrived perfect temp, not to hot to dig right in. The 6 crab claws broken to expose the meat were a nice touch we've never seen; we try everyone's gumbo: prolly the best we've had recently if ever. Continuing that theme, we shared the 14 oz Japanese style (name recipes me) new horn strip, truly too much for one normal appetite: the already flavorful tender steak was helped even more by a unique brown sauce with capers: and my Dad said a good steak doesn't NEED any help. Well, this steak was so good let's just say "the sauce was gravy." We like Brussels sprouts broiled; so my wife asked when ordering the steak, which comes with creamed sprouts, if they could be broiled: instead our waitress asked the chefs who actually flash fried them with salt and pepper, perfectly, with crunchy outer leaves & al dent inside. My wife ordered a 14.00 glass of Pinot noir; the cool wine glass was a generous size --and filled generously. We like the pretentious wine descriptions from the backs of bottles; bartender let us take a photo of the label but suggested the "vivino" app to get the lowdown on any wine. Finished off sharing the bread pudding with rum soaked yellow raisins, great flavor without excess sweetness, and thanked our waitress Katy.
