In Jackson for medical appointments at UMMC. Party of four for breakfast. I've been to other locations and this one did not disappoint. We were greeted by a pleasant hostess. We sat outside. They have a nice outside dining area with some tables under a covering and some in direct sun. All employees were taking health precautions and they had hand sanitizer out for customers to use at the greeter station as well. They used printed menus to keep from multiple people touching laminated ones. Our server Matt was great. He took good care of us and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good experience. Food I had an omelette that was perfectly cooked. It had crawfish and I think lobster. Maybe it was the Floridian. The seafood tastes fresh and it was cooked perfectly. Coffee was on point too. The waiter did not return to our table to see if our meal was prepared correctly, he did not refill our drinks. Three hostess were just standing at the front counter talking to one another and did not greet you upon arrival or thank you for dinning upon your departure. The waiter never acknowledged us for at least 8 minutes. The restaurant was not hopping busy. Ordered coffee and water. That as well took a bit. Breakfast wise I ordered the Mardi Gras Omelette. I was anticipating a juicy, succulent, flavorful omelette stuffed with all the Cajun fixing as described on the menu. Once received it look good but it was dry, over cooked and really not juicy with any kind of sauce. The potato's were nice and crunchy. Best part of the whole meal. This place was okay. We went here for my boyfriend's birthday brunch, and he and I both goes the Huevos Rancheros -- except they weren't like any Huevos I've ever had. Instead of refried beans with soft corn tortillas, it was black beans with what seemed like homemade tortilla chips. It was pretty unsalted, which is fixable, but it also just wasn't that great. I ordered a Sweet Tea (a little too sweet if you got "the sugars" go for the unsweetened or ask for 1/4th sweet and the rest unsweetened) a water will dilute it tho and the waitresses were very accommodating! We went on Veteran's Day for breakfast but we waited so long that it turned into brunch. We were told 20 minute wait for 2 adults and a highchair. People who came after us, sat before us-- we ended up waiting an hour only cause we finally decided to sit outside or otherwise it would've been another wait-- because the guy said something messed up somewhere on the ipad. Our server was nice but we had to ask twice for straws and had to ask for eating utensils after he brought the food out. The food is good but really overpriced for the quality. I had Steak and Eggs and the steak really needed some better seasoning throughout the inside..however it was cooked to my preference- medium rare. The coffee is good. Backstory: I would give them more stars if I could. The new Memphis location on Park is scheduled to open by March. Very nice decor - upscale done right and way above Panera's. Think Palo Alto modern where they were based before opening a corporate office downtown Memphis. Food was excellent and we ordered everything from scrumptious beignets with marmalade to several breakfast specials including blackberry pancakes. The coffee was served in custom glazed mugs which I wanted even though I don't and never will drink coffee. Our server was Mac who should be a manager - he is great!
