After my niece's dance competition at Kalahari, my family and I, totaling seven, decided to grab a bite before starting the two-hour drive home. We arrived at ABE around 1:15 pm, finding the restaurant fairly empty with only one other table being served. Despite this, we waited over 10 minutes to be greeted & seated. Once the large tabletop for 7 was cleaned we ordered drinks and beignets, expecting they would arrive before our main dishes, but they came midway through. They were worth the wait. Our server, Christina, was delightful and ensured we had everything we needed, but there was a sense of urgency to finish our meal as the restaurant was closing at 2 pm. We ended up leaving around 2:20 pm, about 20 minutes past closing time. The food was enjoyable, the restaurant & bathrooms were clean, and both the host and servers were friendly. I would recommend arriving at least an hour before closing time to fully enjoy your meal. Great spot to stop before heading over to Cedar Point! My friend and I always get breakfast outside of the park to avoid spending a ton of money on sad food. This place is conveniently located inside of the mall and there's obviously plenty of parking. We stopped in on a Tuesday morning and practically had the whole place to ourselves. The waiter recommended the shrimp & grits which we decided to split and it was enough for two. Menu has a lot of great options although if you're looking for something basic, you probably won't find it here. They have morning drinks too if you want a snazzy mimosa or a spiked coffee! I thought I'd put myself out there one more time and open up my eyes to the world of Sandusky Ohio. Another broken egg cafe was an immediate 5 star because this gluten free party squirrel had OPTIONS BABY. We could choose between pancakes, omelettes, sandwiches, burgers... the list went on, not long but it did go on ;) we were tired, we just hopped off a plane and we needed some food in our belly's. Mamas.. we're hungry. MMMMMMM when my lips tasted the sweet sweet nectar of the spiked salted caramel cold brew. I swear I tear left my face. It held me close, it kissed me on the cheek, it slid into my DMs and wanted to get to know me. This coffee was the perfect pairing to a cold day... screw hot chocolate. I want this to be my winter sweet treat forever and ever. But then... the pancakes. My childhood dream came true having chocolate chips added to these hot cakes. My Saturday morning was made. My family & I were driving through Ohio on a road trip & wanted a good breakfast as we had a lot of trouble finding something good. I suggested Another Broken Egg since I have eaten at several locations in South Florida & even one I went to in South Carolina. Boyyyy did I regret suggesting this place. This location was in a big clean shopping mall, the Sandusky Mall location, there is also a TJ Maxx in that shopping center as well, all was clean, we walk in, the location was clean & nice as well. I am not sure how long they have been open but they keep it clean and nice. All smiles to start, I was happy in comparison to the places we had eaten at the last night & a half. It was all downhill from there. Our order was fairly simple an order of 4 eggs over medium with toast, an order of 2 eggs over easy with toast. Kids dollar pancakes with sausage patty & a burger. -- the only thing that came out without a hitch was the burger. Our server dropped off 2 eggs over easy that were supposed to be 4 eggs over medium & the pancakes and eggs. We were missing the additional 2 eggs for the order of 4, 2 eggs over easy with toast- there was no syrup, no butter, no sausage patty and she immediately walked away. We grabbed syrup from another table for the pancakes as the eggs got cold and so did everything else. We remind her it was an order of 4 eggs, not 2 & I was missing my eggs as well as the sausage patty and orders of toast, and we asked for butter. -- the eggs never came over medium but ok- she brings out the toast, but just one order. The sausage patty was raw in the middle so we let her know, it happened to be on the same plate as the kids eggs, she took the plate and I reminded her it was TWO orders of toast. She returns with more toast and later with the sausage patty, the eggs were gone and she didn't bring new eggs for our toddler. By this point we were just kind of over it anyway. I had some toast and cut into the sausage, it was still raw in the middle. I'm just not sure how you mess a simple breakfast up that much. The service was just terrible, the food was bad for something so simple and this location does not represent what I am used to at Another Broken Egg. If this is typical for this location, Sandusky Ohio has no idea what eating at a good Another Broken Egg is like. Thankfully this is NOT our local Another Broken Egg. read more

Ordered food to go for a quicker experience since we had sports at the sports center to get to. Order was 10mins late. While I stood there because I was early by 3 mins for my pick up. People started coming in behind me. Eveyone just kept walking by telling me they would be with me soon. I told them I had a pick up and they just said okay.... When the girl finally came it was after my pick up time and the food wasn't ready she said they were waiting on my eggs. When we got the food the eggs were over cooked and hard. The waffle was missing the chocolate syrup and whip cream. It was still good and the food was good hence the 2 stars. But after looking at the other reviews they really need to get it together. This place is amazing - from the service to the quality of food. This is NOT your average, run of the mill breakfast spot. It's "upscale" and boasts a unique and changing menu that keeps some customer favorites, like the classic eggs Benedict. Yum! Coffee is always good and the alcoholic drinks are, as well. Bar drinks are a bit pricey, so be prepared for that if you plan on getting a pitcher of their Bloody Mary! SPECIAL kudos to Tay, who has been our server a few times. My husband's omelette was so over cooked it was inedible and my food wasn't great either. We also waited over an hour for it. The server was very nice and they refunded the cost of the omelette. Nothing they have is plant base, or now they have a whole menu when the rest of my table is almost done eating. They can seat a party, then they can't. They can seat us together, then can't. I'm unclear why their menus don't have prices. Michelin star restaurants have prices, but this mall egg shop? I can not understand why it was so busy. Except they had an entire wing empty. This is the second time we've used their virtual "Join our Waitlist" feature only to arrive at the restaurant and find out they were using a first-come/first-serve paper list. If the store doesn't want to participate in the virtual waitlist, then it should be disabled for their location online. They also need to pull the sign advertising the virtual waitlist from their front door because customer after customer could be seen walking in with a cellphone open to the app, expecting to be already "in line." The "hostess" was rude and ill-mannered and snapped, "This is the way it's supposed to be" when we questioned why she wasn't using the virtual waitlist. There are plenty of competitors, such as First Watch, that know how to use the virtual waitlist and do it well. We won't give Another Broken Egg a third try. read more

The food is always on point. I has the Oh Lucy Omelette and it never disappoints. It has a wonderful chorizo that's not too spicy but has that backend, slow rising heat that I enjoy. Can I suggest the city grits? Yes, normally I usually just add salt, pepper, and butter to my grits (sometimes cheese) but the chopped bacon & scallions go well with grits. read more

At 11:30 we asked where our food was and we did not get served until 11:45. Mine and my husband's breakfast was cold. The lobster in the lobster omelet was grey. Did not taste or look like lobster. We waited over an hour for our food that had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for some time to the point that it cooked a poached egg. The rest of the food was cold and waffles were hard as a rock. When we asked for the manager, the manager didn't seem to care about our terrible experience. Wow, what a lot of food. It was a tough decision between what we ordered and the chicken biscuit and the lobster and brie omelette. Everything was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. We paid the extra $2.49 to substitute fresh fruit, and it was well worth it. More types of fruit than i can remember and it was very fresh. We prefer smaller family owned businesses but decided to give it a try and at least support our local workers. Our breakfast was delicious. The host greeted us immediately with a smile.
