We've been visiting this establishment off and on for ten years. Despite its fairly recent ownership change, it's remained very inconsistent and just screams mediocrity. Mind you, it's not terrible, just simply not good and hasn't been for at least the last five years. We've definitely given it a lot of chances because it's a local spot. However, the price paid for the quality is quite embarrassing. Anyplace can make a decent burger or sandwich. Manny's is no exception. They're on par with any other bar in the area and nothing they do is extraordinary. Service is usually just ok. If you're not a regular, you will have your order taken and food delivered. That's about it. The atmosphere is pleasant and the outdoor seating is nice considering the area we're in. Our last visit consisted of the shrimp nachos which I am still looking for the rest of the shrimp a day later. Also, chicken tenders and fries were another choice. The fries were abysmal for lack of a better term. They appeared and tasted boiled rather than fried. Normally, the fries are very good despite my other criticisms. Overall, there's nothing to make me want to return any time soon. Just down the road is another bar with better prices, better atmosphere and better food. We tried to like this place. I've been jere a few times and went back with my mother the most recent time. She ordered the Mushroom chips (forgot the name haha) and thne French onion soup and I ordered nachos. The service was amazing as the kitchen got my order wrong twice and my wonderful server kept working with me to make sure it was fitting of my dietary needs. The ambiance was great for everyone as there was even a few kids in there. We went around 430pm on a Friday for reference. Get there early as if your going on a Friday night the place will fill up with big parties. After we got there about 30 or so people came in after us so its definitely a Hotspot! We really enjoyed our meals. However, it is not kid friendly for a typical kid, especially in a tourist area. There is NOT a kid's menu. It seems like a place locals go to hang out. It had a laid back local vibe where if I was local and looking for a night out, we'd probably go there. I just thought I should include that in the review so people with picky kids don't go, thinking it's kid friendly. Back to the food- we decided to order meals to share with our two children. It actually probably worked out better for them as they were able to eat something other than nuggets. The turkey club was nice and juicy. I really dislike dry sandwiches and had a lot of ingredients on it. It came with fries. There was plenty to share around the table. Very attentive. From the moment we walked in on a Saturday evening everyone was very helpful. Just a two top they let us snag our own table. We had waters immediately. I heard a waitress address multiple people by name as they walked in the door. The automosphere was welcoming and busy. As it picked up, the laughter and conversations picked up. We thought the owner may have been behind the bar as everyone gravitated to him. I ordered the ribeye wrap. Spot on! This hit the spot! The waitress recommended it over the Reubens. I am happy I went with the suggestion. So darn good I would order it again in a heartbeat. Hubby ordered the house burger. Build your own. He allowed me a bite and it was delicious. We were in town for a volleyball tournament booked for a party of 35 about two weeks ahead. The booking process and confirmation was super easy and organized. Our entire party arrived at 5:15 and we were impressed to have an entire back room to ourselves. The atmosphere was really nice! I will speak for myself that our table enjoyed our food and thought everything was great. Service was a bit slow, but I can't imagine being hit by such a big party all at once. Our only negative was there was only one waiter for our big group - so things took longer and it was a lot for one person. He had runners and someone helping with drinks, but with a two week advance notice - they'd benefit from a second waiter. Came here after a long day and didn't expect to have an entire movie scene play out, a drunk driver who cut me off earlier on the way to the restaurant walked in and had 2 buddy's and started cursing intensely at me because "I was going to slow" meanwhile I was traveling speed limit, the 3 guys got in my face and attempted to swing on me I stepped back because they was sloppy, before I could even make a move a female employee ran over and spinning kicked the driver in the stomach which knocked him down, then a male employee knocked one of the guys out, the group of drunks ended up leaving hastily, I asked why they helped and their quote was "our employee motto is we stand on business it doesn't stand on us", safe to say I absolutely devoured everything I ordered, I will for sure be making my way back to mannys soon read more

Overall, food always has great flavor, staff is friendly and accommodating. Prices are a little high IMO. I ordered the Sicilian Sandwich, again... great flavor, but for $16 one would assume there would be more that a couple thin slices of meat. The appetizers totally hit the spot for all four of us! The mozzarella sticks were fresh, hot, and filled with lots of gooey cheese. The mozzarella sticks were served with some chunky marinara sauce that was pretty good. The pretzel bites were also fresh and hot! I loved how large and "doughy" they were! The cheese sauce that is served with the pretzel bites was really good too! I used the leftover cheese sauce to dip some of my "baked" nachos in! The nachos were pretty could - I wouldn't have minded a little extra cheese, but they were still delish. My drink of choice with all of this was the Ace Pineapple Craft Cider - really tasty! The tavern has TVs lined up everywhere. I like this as it didn't matter where we were sitting, we could all see what was going on on the TVs. The bathrooms? Oh geez. The bathrooms are super spacious, have TVs in them, and are very clean! We actually planned to go back to Manny's with our friends after checking out from Kalahari (two days later); however, they were closed! Boo! FYI - They are closed on Mondays!. En route from Michigan to Pennsylvania via the turnpike, we pulled off in Sandusky for dinner of any kind. We did a quick web search and were actually headed to another restaurant when we pulled into Manny's parking lot accidently! Surveying the two side by side lots, we realized that it looked like Manny's was attracting the bigger crowd so we recalibrated and changed our choice on the spot. Sometimes, it is wise to follow your instincts. This was definitely one of those times! The name "sports tavern" doesn't really do the restaurant side of the operation justice. Manny's menu is full of interesting items like pork corn cakes (topped with pork carnitas, pico de gallo and creamy chipotle ranch sauce), homemade tater tots (hand-rolled, the size of baseballs! and stuffed with cheese & bacon), portabella fries and General Tso Chicken salad (Romaine, broccoli, tomato, chow mein noodles, cheddar, tso ranch dressing). There's a great sandwich and pizza selection too. The beer selection is great (don't drink and drive!) and service was terrific. Enter through the very unassuming door opposite the highway side and seat yourself (although no sign says so). TVs throughout, including the bathroom, broadcast various games, hence the "sports" tavern, but this is definitely a place where families and non-sports fans would be comfortable and well cared for. If you read my last review I asked for the 2009 recipe of this Buffalo wonderland to be returned. The opposite has happened. This is like a kid asking his divorced parents to get back together and instead they poison each other and die, convulsing and vomiting, at the kid's feet on Christmas morning.
