Honest shop. That's really all you need to know when it comes to an auto repair shop. As for the review below claiming the shop is dishonest, that is very bizarre because Ekram will walk you under your car every time and show you the damage firsthand so you can see for yourself even without you asking. He has done so every time our company has had our cars services there. The only likely scenario is he had a "senior moment" and got the cars confused. Another odd thing about this place is all the customers seem to want to make friends and every time we go there without fail we see customers have an entire half hour conversation to the other customers they don't know standing there. For some reason the vibe here somehow brings out the good New Yorker side. read more

ANS Auto Care Yelp Review Integrity and honesty - need I say more? I highly recommend ANS Auto Care. My dad was a customer of Freddys' for over 20 years and I've been a customer of both Freddy and Sal for years now. This is the only car repair shop that I go to and trust wholeheartedly. I have had various wear and tear issues fixed and have never had to return for repair work they have performed. After dropping the car off I have always been called with a diagnosis within two or three hours and after approving of the repairs, was able to pick the car up by the end of day. The pricing is fair and I am shown the old parts upon pickup (my air filter was scary). I am certain I am not the only one that feels this way. When going into the shop I've had three exchanges with other waiting customers whom I have struck a conversation with that feel the same way. I trust them as I would trust my own family! This was my first time going to Sal and he works at this shop with his brother! I can't even begin to explain how amazing these two were My 1st question that I asked was whether or not I should use synthetic or regular oil. He suggested regular oil based on the amount of miles that I drive. He could have said synthetic which would have caused me to pay more money. That's when I knew I came to the right place. So I just moved back to the neighborhood & I needed a new mechanic ASAP. Since I've been screwed over bad in the past with my last car, I had to trust these reviews on here & WOW is all I can say! Sal is AMAZING! I had quite a few things wrong with my car (it was sitting for a while) & he walked me through everything! Took me under my car & showed me whats broke, where it's broke, what needs to be fixed, explained everything to me so I understand what's happening, he even offered to fix what was needed to be fixed so it was safe on the road & I wouldn't have a huge bill all at once & then fixed the other stuff later on. He helped me cut costs everywhere he could, like for example finding me excellent condition used tires, that alone saved me over $150. This place is great, they're so friendly. Moving ahead 4 years from our last review, we have the same 2002 van and Sal worked tirelessly over the past week on brakes and other problems which allowed us to correct the check engine light and pass NYS inspection. Been going to Sal and Ekrem for over 10 years now. I drive 40 minutes to get there even for just an oil change as they don't rip off their customers like the dealers do. Found this shop on yelp. Had a check engine light for engine running lean code. Drove up first thing in the morning and was greeted by Sal. Asked me a few questions. Checked the oil. Immediately noticed a loose connection in the air line by the sensor. Explained that a dealership would diagnose this as a part that would need a replacement. Told me he would just properly connect the line and do an oil change/filter and inspection to make sure everything was good. Real honest and straight forward. He was willing to take care of everything on the spot. Single handedly saved me $100s from being ripped off at the dealership. Will be recommending ANS. Another gentleman waiting for his car said he drove all the way from Long Island and told me never to trust anyone else and he services all his cars by ANS. After reading so many awesome reviews, I decided to see for myself how amazing this place was. Sure enough this place is THE BEST, start to finish - at least from first impressions. I came in because of loud dragging noises while turning/driving, in addition to some other minor issues. Sal is very nice and we went on a test drive once I informed him of this, and provided professional advice and explained everything he was going to inspect and showed me everything that required immediate attention after the full inspection. The price is very reasonable and he did not try to charge me for extra or more expensive options that my car really didn't need. From explaining the whole process and going through when and why certain problems emerge to showing me the end result and the old replaced parts, I felt confident that they would always get the job done and done well - maybe more, but never less. Sal also gave the option of leaving some of the more minor issues for next time as they were not of immediate concern and could save me some cash for the time being. He offered his office seat and coffee and phone charger as well, which was very kind of him. Personally - I'm not a great conversationalist but from just a glimpse of our small exchanges I felt one could almost see their story play back before your eyes. I was recommended by a friend. As soon as Sal saw my car he made me feel better. my car burns alot if oil since it has over 100k miles. After taking my car to the Honda Dealership service center for an oil change, I was greeted with a $2000 bill and list of bogus work my car "needed." Panicked that I might need to just get rid of my car or go into debt trying to fix it- I took my car to Sal at ANS who looked everything over and confirmed that much of what the dealership was trying to get me to do was unnecessary and a ripoff. Sal actually found other real problems that needed immediate attention to help ensure the sustainability of my vehicle. At the end of the day, I left paying $400 and actually fixing my car. I recently moved to New York from up-state Connecticut. On the way back from one of my apartment-hunting visits, my dad's car broke down somewhere in Queens. I later found out it was Malba. If any of you Malba residents see this, thanks for not calling the cops on my dad's hideously out of place 2003 Chevy. You might recognize it as the one that had white steam flying out of the engine. Maybe you even remember me, the bawling redhead with zero life experience who had no idea how to get from the rich part of Queens to a part that had trains. Anyway, after I got home, I googled up some mechanics in the area and checked for their reviews. With the kind of unfortunate luck I have, I was expecting to get scammed. I found Ans Auto Care on Google Maps somewhere near where I broke down. Google had two positive reviews dating back to 2010, so we took a shot and got the car over there. I've personally spoken to both mechanics (who are brothers), and can vouch for how amazing they are. They couldn't fix the problem in my dad's car (apparently it's something only the dealer can do because it involves some proprietary programming), but they didn't charge us for looking at it and ruling out some easier fixes. They even let us keep the car there until we could tow it back to CT. Google reviews suggest that they charge well for the work they do - since they didn't charge us, I can't verify this, but I completely believe it based on their character. And they care about their customers. When my dad was down there to get the car out of the rich-folks' neighborhood and into the garage, he mentioned I was looking for a place to live. The mechanic whipped out his business card and wrote down the number of a good realty firm in Brooklyn and Queens. I ended up scoring an apartment on my own (the one I had looked at the day the car broke down, actually), but I really appreciated the gesture. I'm going to end up living in Brooklyn, but would recommend all of my neighbors go to this north-Queens repair shop for their vehicle maintenance, despite the 30-minute stop and go traffic and the fact that there are probably a ton of repair shops closer to home. read more

EXCELLENT SERVICE! I have been coming to ANS for many years. I've recommended this dependable auto repair shop to many of my friends & family. Ekrem and Sal are honest & knowledgeable mechanics, and their prices are very reasonable; a combination which is often hard to find these days. I learned this lesson again recently. This winter during a severe blizzard in New York City my husband's car got stuck on the Williamsburg Bridge on his way to work. AAA towed it to the nearest authorized repair shop in Manhattan until we could tow it to our own repair shop after the blizzard. The repair shop called us a few hours later and wanted to charge us $1400 for repairs. He told us if we didn't have the repair done he would charge us a diagnostic fee of $125 plus an $85 storage fee even though we never authorized him to diagnose the car. When we balked at the quote, the repair person quickly lowered the price by $500. We called our mechanic Sal at ANS to explain the situation with the car and he immediately knew this was not an accurate assessment of the problem and they were trying to take advantage of us. The next day we had our car towed back to ANS where it was properly diagnosed it. The repair cost $642. As it turns out, the first repair shop had completely misdiagnosed the problem. If we had followed their advice our car would have still been inoperable and we would have been out a lot of money. Thank you Ekrem and Sal for years of dependable service. PS: These guys are so nice, on several occasions they've driven me back and forth from my home when I didn't have anyone else to help drive me to pick up my car.
