I've been using Brendan's for several years and come to them from Manhattan. They are always fair, as quick as possible and very often will get whatever part think I need from my description of the problem before I get there so I can get the car same day and don't have to take 1 bus and 2 trains back to Manhattan. I've gone to pay a bill and reminded something was still under warranty. I don't know any other place that would tell me that if I didn't realize it. I can't say enough how grateful I am for Brendan's! I went to the Audi dealership to replace a tire and they came back with a laundry list of things that were "recommended" and added up to 3 thousand dollars. I called Tom from Brendan's, who had always been so kind and helpful whenever my car needed a fix, while I was waiting in the dealership lobby and he told me to bring the car by as soon as possible. Eric and Tom took the time to check if I actually needed all of these repairs (I didn't, only a few that I already knew about from my last visit to Brendan's and hadn't gotten around to fixing yet) and gave me a MUCH more reasonable cost. Car was done early the next morning. As a young girl who lives across the country from her family and has zero car knowledge, people like the staff at Brendan's really make such a difference. i needed to get an inspection done but my check engine light was on so i went to brendan's. after charging me almost $200 for the diagnostic they told me my car's computer needs to be replaced and it would cost me 2 grand!!! good thing i listened to my brother who told me to check with another mechanic. the other mechanic said there's absolutely nothing wrong with the computer and only the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. he got it done for $300 and my check engine light went away. and he saved me from getting ripped off!! read more

We've been having our cars serviced at Brendan's for more years than I can remember. Highly skilled mechanics, very reasonable prices, and a very customer-friendly ethic. Last week, I took my Outback in for a NYS inspection and an oil change. I also mentioned that I believed I had a slow leak in one of my tires. A couple of hours later, I picked up the car and paid the bill. In yesterday's mail I received a corrected bill with the following explanation. "Hello Mr. Richman, Your original invoice included a charge for a tire plug. Apologies - the tire was resealed on the rim, not plugged. I have enclosed a refund check." Integrity! read more

I went in to get a quote to fix some simple issues in my car. The cost was 300 dollars!! Just for a quote. After waiting 3-4 days for the actual quote, I received a price that was way to high! I do not recommend this place, they are thieves! Very sad. read more

Do NOT go here if you value honesty and fair pricing! I teach at a school down the block, and I used to bring my car here for everything. A few years ago, I stopped going after numerous coworkers shared horrible experiences with them. To sum it up, they exorbitantly raised all of the prices. Broke parts that were in good condition (oil pan), recommended work that did not need to be done, and lied about it all. When my coworker went in with a check engine light on, they told him all sorts of crazy work that "needed" to get done. When he asked for a detailed explanation, he wrote down everything they said. The guy behind the desk proceeded to take the paper away out of his hand and throw it away. When asked to return the paper, the worker claimed ignorance. After getting a second opinion at an honest shop, he needed one sensor replaced that cost a quarter of what he was told at Brendan's. read more

Have been going here for the last couple of years since my car has hit 15 yrs old. They've been very clear about the work that needed to be done and the costs for the parts were fair. Losses a star because they get real busy sometimes and are delayed beyond the promise date and one time they couldn't diagnose an issue on their own. Those guys are a joke... do not bring your car in here... I do not understand how they got all those stars . They will RIP you off. thanks god I shopped around and i did my research ... I had this problem with my car and I called them to get a quote and they told me that I had to come to the shop ... fine I went there and i spoke to Tom and he quoted me for 1171$ ... that's insane for the rack and pinion and guys this is just the labor . I told him that I bought the part and all I need from him is the labor and that's how much he want to charge me guys !!! costumers service is very bad here . I asked him from hes experience about the rack and pinion and hes experience with installing it ... he shacked hes head and goes that's on you I dont know .. well you should know since you representing the mechanic shop .. by the way I have an idea on how much it will cost to d ok the work and I just wanted to get a good deal . And by the 2ay the Lincoln dealership charges 2200$ that's by installing a new rack and pinion that it cost 1500$ and the labor is only 380$ plus 200$ of programming it . its usually 3h or 4h of work on the car versus 1171$ ... I couldn't believe seriously. I'm still shock and disappointed !! Is like I had a Lamborghini not a lincoln . Anyway who's ever is in charge of this store should look into that because that's bad for the business and for any new costumers who are looking at my review...yes this real and you should Becarful. Update : I bought a 270$ rack and pinion from a junkyard and Installed it for 300$ that's including labor and everything so the whole job was for 570$ versus what they asked for read more

They are the only mechanics I'll ever trust. Brendan's is actually my sixth mechanic shop from 12 years of driving (seven if you include the horrific dealer) and this is my final stop. Recently my wife got in contact with her old friend who is a mechanic, but I still go here for services 100%. First thing, they do not lie about what servicing are needed for your car. Even when you ask them "Aren't my tires worn out?" if it's got some life left, they'll tell you to come back a little later. They are honest. Second, their estimated wait time of service is on point. Lastly, they are friendly regardless of race. Azad, I believe is his name, usually takes care of the desk work for me. Their pricing isn't too bad, but what i care about most is that I don't have to come twice once I go there the first time. Him and the rest of the guys (and ladies) there seem knowledgeable and they never try to charge extra for services that aren't even needed. That's something I can't say they do for about 95% of other shops out there in Queens. I've only recently found out about this place and I started going to this place since 2015. Whenever I'm there I'm given an estimated wait time and everytime, the car is either ready on time or before. If they say 2 hours, they mean it! It might be a little harder for us "Asian" people to find a decent mechanic. Since a lot of places out there will probably think you don't know much or you don't speak English, they'll rip you off. Sadly, sometimes Asians do it to each other. You won't find discrimination here, the kind lady at the front desk loves Korean food (pajun especially) and apparently I overhead she even goes to Hmart! Plus, she's super friendly! I made another recent visit to change out my rims on my Sonata 2.0T. I had to get two rear tires out along with 4 TPMS meters to get 4 tires+TPMS meters installed onto the new rims. My wife (who was still skeptical) insisted she call her friend's place and some old place we've been to, etc... but what do you know. $40 cheaper here and I didn't have to leave my car there. Brendan's was recommended to me initially by a family friend. It wasn't until the wheel fell off of my car that I actually had to use them. They were fantastic. They were also the only people able to fix and repair my check engine light issue after the dealership and two other places tried and failed (very expensive failures!). They are stand up guys who stand by their work. Any time I have encountered even the slightest issue with work performed they have stepped right up to the plate and corrected the issue with no additional charge. Niall is the ultimate professional and provides the best customer service around. My family and extended family's roots run deep with Niall and this shop as they've gone there for many years. Every auto issue is approached with honesty and the recommended fix is catered to your needs. I initially tried to fix an issue I had over a year ago at a local auto repair shop and they quoted me a ton of money (thousands) to fix the problem. I called Niall, described the issue, and he suggested that the mechanic may be right, but for a potential fix that large, I should come up for a second opinion. Upon a review of my car, Niall suggested a different fix from the other shop! According to him, there were two ways it could be resolved. One repair was a full repair that would have cost almost 2K. Knowing that I own an older car and uncertain about my long-term plans with it, Niall recommended that I go for a partial repair that could last years for less than half the cost. Keep in mind that I traveled back to NYC after moving to Philadelphia to get this fix from him. It has been over a year and my car is running strong with no issues. He always treats me like family and oftentimes asks how my Dad and the rest of the family is doing. read more

They are the most wonderful place; I wish everything in my life was as well taken care of as my auto repairs. They are honest, reliable, and fair. When they tell you something, you know it's true. Been using Tom at Brendan's for years to service my parents car in Queens. They are so accommodating, honest and great to deal with. Since I live out of town they have often picked up and dropped off my elderly mom's car for service. I had to get one of my tires patched up. Due to my past experience with Savvy Auto, I decided to try out a new place. Yelpers say that the service at this place was impeccable... and I TOTALLY AGREE. The guy that helped with me, answered all my questions thoroughly. And he took the time to explain the other problems with my car. He gave me options to choose from and helped me compare the prices. I was not forced to do anything. Also, the man who fixed up my car was extremely nice. He knew I was in a hurry so he continuously updated me on the status of the car. So nice! I also witnessed two other customers get into an accident in their parking lot. The older woman who hit the other woman's car was very scared. The workers outside immediately ran inside to call out one of the customer service guys. Nial, guy who helped the two woman resolve the issue, was extremely patient. Although not really his problem, Nial took the time out to calm the women down and explain to them how it can be fixed. Immediately, the issue was resolved. I was impressed. I called Niall at Brendan's Service Station for state inspection, he was willing to do the inspection on the spot while I was waiting even though he was very busy with many car waiting to be repaired. Went to this shop for the first time and they fixed my flat. They did the job but the shop owner was more busy socializing than getting repairs done. The professionalism isn't what I expected at this place. Went back for a flat tire, ac check up, and battery check up and they charged me $145 with actually getting nothing done. I understand the checkup charges but I felt like I was slighted a bit when they weren't clear about certain things. I'd rather go a little farther to a more reliable and trustworthy place. Update: They said I had a hole in the condenser and asked me if I got into any accidents. I don't know how that happened knowing that car is accident free. I don't want to assume foul play but I'm going to take this as a lesson to know my own car. First review on Yelp and I am pretty peeved about it to the point to review this place. read more

This was my second time coming there. I first came here three months ago to get my oil exchanged. It was not cheap, but reasonably priced. I ended up waiting about 90 minutes. They told me windshield wipers should probably be replaced, but did not push me to pay for anything. I came yesterday for my NY state inspection. They told me to come in at 7AM if I didn't want to wait. I did and was out of there in 30 minutes. I brought a pair of windshield wipers which I bought from amazon and they were happy to put on for me. They didn't try to sell me anything extra or tell me anything was broken. Honesty is the most important thing for when it comes to car service and that is why I give them 5 stars. I rather pay fair prices and not deal with haggling or getting ripped off. read more

I have been bringing my cars to Brendan's Service Station for about 6 years. Honestly, they do great work! However, after my latest experience I will never bring a car back here. My check engine light went on this week and I brought it in to find out why. My father runs an automotive shop out of Massachusetts, so this means I cannot bring it to his shop unless it's okay to drive a few hundred miles. I made an appointment online and got a timely confirmation from the owner, but when I got there and told the man at the front he responded "you shouldn't have done that, I don't know what you're talking about." The mechanics checked out my car, very polite and efficient. After the mechanics at Brendan's told me what was wrong with my car (sensor in the engine, no big deal for now), I told the manager up front that I'm just going to bring it to Massachusetts and thank you for the help. This mans response (with the owner standing over his shoulder) was "your dad runs an automotive shop and you drive a Ford Taurus? He should be ashamed of himself." To have both my car and my family insulted for no reason!! I will not be returning here when they have such unpleasant people managing their customers. read more

I went for a safety inspection and they changed owners. The new owner failed my safety inspection multiple times and try to charge again when by DMV policy allows you to retake the inspection. He is NOT trustworthy. Another mechanic told me my issue wasn't even close to be a valid reason for failing me and he would've passed me without hesitation. read more

You can get good service if Mr Nial is in. Otherwise you'd be taking chances with your pocketbook. I've been coming here for a couple of years and found that a few of their Service desk staff tend to overcharge for services. Mr Nial is more knowledgeable than they are and will at least prioritize the recommended repairs. Since they are not inexpensive I at least appreciate that! This place seemed like it would be a good bet, it had one good review and happens to be down the street from my house. I brought in my car to be fixed because the check engine light was on...the work they said would cost $960...needing a second opinion I waited until I went back home to MA the next week and brought it to a local shop I have known for years, the difference in cost?? $400....They charged me $560 as opposed to his $960..Maybe he tried to screw me over because I had mass plates... read more

I called to see how much an oil change would be and was told $36 for blend and $55 for higher quality, it would take about 45 minutes to finish. I came in and the guy says $55 for blend and $77 for higher quality and also that it would take a few hours. I had no choice so i took the blend and told them i would come back. In reality they did actually take 45 minutes which is why I gave them 4 stars. I knocked off a star because the prices were not the same as i was told. read more

I was having issues with the tire pressure on one of my tires and I visited Brendan's after searching on Yelp. Initially, I was dubious about the authenticity of the reviews because I've never seen any mechanic shop with such good reviews. Obviously I've never been to a good mechanic shop. I came here at around 9am without an appointment and I was out of the shop by about 9:30. They fixed my tire and charged a very reasonable price.
