In my opinion, this business is inherently unreliable. We have been customers with them for a long time now and if there is any hiccup with the weather, their "service" goes down. Then, when you try to get information on what's happening or an account credit, there's always an excuse. This goes on and on and on... Power outage last month, snow issues this month, when they did come back on line the first day they were at 1/2 meg. They don't even bother to answer the phone but have a recording saying to leave your name and number yet the recording keeps repeating itself and no chance to leave a message. $69 for 10 meg and no customer service and multiple day outages??? Update 10-18-18 11:49 am (time of day "is" a factor here) Just hit 10 Mbps (random test) which is great for this time of day. I wish I had upgraded sooner (although my son was in college, and bleeding us dry (we were OK with that)). For the extra dollars the speed just rocks !!! I do understand "high traffic" (slow speeds) I also understand "low traffic" "still of the night" (better be hauling ass speed). Stars will reflect various speed tests....I'll start with 4 stars. and deduct or add from there. They sent a service tech out (Brian?), to install a new antenna. He was polite and answered all my questions. My new antenna points to the west versus the old one that pointed to the south (Tango system). The tech said my service would improve...and it did. Update: 9-10-18 OK just upgraded to the 4G x2 not a bad deal, for only $23 more per month (10x the speed) will see how the data flows during heavy traffic times. Will repost if there is an issue. Looking at the others reviews, they are not that far off. What the deal is Antelecom overloads its server. When I first subcribed the speed was fair, but they kept adding customers to the server, without adding more servers. My son whose a gamer sleeps during the day, and goes online after 11:00 PM and plays till 6:00AM. When the kids get home from school, demand peaks, and service gets slow. weekends are slower also. In the wee hours when everyone is asleep, service is Good. Antelecom is my only choice, and the Dirtbags at Verizon, said I should have DSL in about 1 year (that was 6 years ago). You have to be a dumb_____ (fill in your favorite noun) to write a review where you think wireless internet service should be like Time Warner Cable, or AT&T DSL. It's like saying that Steer and Stein is a world-class, five star restaurant. That's just being plain ignorant. Look, you need to educate yourself first. Go to the library and use their Internet connection to read up on what Antelecom provides. It's OVER-THE-AIR-RADIO-SIGNAL-NOT-DSL-OR-CABLE wireless Internet. And in the Antelope Valley, where some people live way west of the prison, or way east of 50th Street East....you're lucky to get this service. It's not perfect, but neither are the Antelope Valley's local cable or DSL providers. Because there's no way, not in your lifetime, not in your kids' lifetime, not even in your grandchildren's lifetimes will AT&T, Time Warner, Verizon, Sprint, or your mom and dad's favorite telecommunications provider , will they ever spend the money to upgrade the infrastructure to those remote areas. And if you live in those remote areas, and ask them to trench lines to your house so you can get 20 mb/second....they'll just laugh at you, go to Yelp and write a review about how completely freaking stupid you are. So....either move back to Los Angeles, or thank your lucky stars you even got .75 megabits a second to where before.....you only got a dial tone. read more

I just got Antelecom for my work, with a 12/3Mbps service. We have a good connection so far, with no network problems. We have been having trouble with the 7/0.768Mbps Frontier DSL for a long time, and can't get Spectrum installed in our building yet. We are using a cloud based ERP system, email, and VOIP phones. Fortunately, we are only 1.2 miles from one of their towers, and have a very strong signal. Give Antelecom a chance. Most of these reviews are very old and many of them are from customers who may have been at the edge of Antelecom's ability to provide service. Other reviewers have noted that Antelecom had upgraded their network since then. read more

Their service is very inconsistent. I had their service for 2 years and made numerous calls to try to get better service. None of the attempts correct anything long at at all. Plan on having no service in the evenings. I say find anyone else to get service through. If your a student DO NOT use them. read more

This company deserves a better review..... It is NOT super fast but if you live in Acton or Palmdale....it is your only choice. They provide good customer service. If the wind blows hard, you lose a little service but not LOST like time Warner. Antelecom is what it is. They may not deserve 5 stars but they do NOT deserve 1 star either. read more

This is THE worst broadband! I live in a remote area so we don't get the DSL and it's one of the only ways to keep in touch with the outside world from out here. This service is worse than 2nd world countries. THE DOWNLOAD SPEED IS .75 MEGABYTES/SECOND!!! The standard in the U.S. is 5 megabytes/second for a download. In other "second world" countries, their download is 20 megabytes/second. Not out here, our download speed is probably worse than Algeria's. We're just hours south of the tech hub of Sillicon Valley and we can't even get 1 megabyte/second download. God forbid if you're out here and you have to use the internet to complete online forms (ie. Taleo, taxes, etc.) It takes 5 minutes to download a simple page, even if it's mapGoogle, Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo or Facebook. It's not their servers, it's our broadband. Forget Youtube, it takes 10 minutes to watch a 7 second video. Forget Skype! Since gas prices are going up again, who wants to have a face to face conversation with anyone? We haven't even discussed gaming, this service is not recommended. On top of the other games that cable monopolies play with downloads, like blocking it when you're "hogging" bandwidth. The U.S. is literally the only country in the world that does this to it's customers and it's an act of cruelty. No I do not recommend moving out to this neck of the woods (Antelope Valley), it's a chore to drive 30 miles to the nearest bank/hospital/etc. or to simply look at another person that's not a tweaker. Your only other option is to go online to do your banking/email for your personable business which is just as painful. THat's if the download speed doesn't shut down entirely and crash whatever you were working on. read more

Antelecom is a deceptive and arrogant company. They believe that because they have very little competition they can treat their customers like crap. Here in Rosamond my options for internet are At&t DSL or Antelecom. At&t was giving me a good solid 2.5Mbps download speed, but I heard from a colleague (who shall be henceforth referred to as Douche-bag) that Antelecom offers up to 6.0Mbps. So I say, "Double the speed is worth a shot." I called to ask about the service and asked my usual questions like: "Do you throttle the download speeds?" Answer: No. "Do you have a monthly cap?" Answer: No. "What speeds can I expect?" Answer: 3-4Mbps with a peak of 6Mbps. (okay...so not 6Mbps) 2 days into service and I could not get anything better than 2.5Mbps. Called multiple times to ask them to check the connection and they say everything is perfect. after weeks of calling to get the speeds faster they finally tell me that they throttle. So if you use the internet for more than 4mins at a time they throttle you to 2.5Mbps (they said they don't, but they do). One tech even said, "This is the best you are going to get and you don't have any options because we are the fastest." Unbelievable! If they didn't throttle maybe yes they would be the fastest. Now it is even worse. I get 0.8Mbps and they say everything is perfect. Worst service I have ever had. They lied to me to get started and now I am stuck with SLOW service for a year, after paying $150 install fee and they have a $200 cancellation fee! The worst part is they are more expensive than At&t. I never thought I would say this but I miss At&t!!! Bait and Switch! read more

Don't even bother with Antelecom. It's almost like not even have wireless because it never even works. Plus the people on the helpline are rude when all I want to know is if their system is down. It's also very slow the times that it happens to work. I'm glad that Charter is in Rosamond now and it probably works even better than this. If you live in East Lancaster, do yourself a favor and avoid Antelecom for as long as you possibly can. They have provided other areas of the AV with 4G antennas, but we are stuck with 3G abysmal speeds. For example, tonight I just conducted the speed test they link to on their own website, and the results are in. Download speed: .28 Mbps and upload speed: .47 Mbps. Really, Antelecom? Really? Antelecom is here because there isn't any competition in the area for broadband. In the outlying areas of the Antelope Valley they are the only provider. The speed in very slow and getting worse. I agree with the other reviewer who stated that YouTube is out. Now they are charging an extra fee to receive a billing statement, they only want to do business via email. My fiance and i have upgraded to the highest speed and i still get the "connection has timed out" thing on our web browser almost every time i get on the internet....I literally had to close the page that i was trying to load after waiting 5 minutes for a moto to load on cycletrader. If I could give this service a zero I would! Because their service is crap and the sucky thing is... They're pretty much the only service provider in Rosamond! I do not know if it's where my house is at, but the service is shotty, goes in and out all on the time! So one min I have "okay" service then next I have no service. And when I DO have service, it is dial up slow! Oh yeah! And forget about running multiple devices... BECAUSE YOU CANT! It just can't take it! I have to do one thing at a time or everything slows to a crawl or it just becomes so annoyingly slow I give up. I literally have to sit in one spot when I'm on the phone because if I'm walkin around or moving, it drops the call over and over again! My reception isn't that great to begin with out in Rosamond, but even with my crappy reception, it is better than their internet service! I wish they had Time Warner out here because their service is impeccable! I have TWC internet at my moms, and it is amazing and fast. I am thinking about buying my own router to see if that makes it any better, but somehow I doubt it. But they're crap! And as I mentioned it sucks because they're only one of the 2 internet providers out here, so they can get away with treating their customers crappy (from what I read on other reviews of them) and provide crappy service! If TW Cable ever comes out here I think this place will go out of business. So even tho AT&T might be more expensive, you'll definitely be getting better service (and that's saying a lot) than what Antelecom provides. Don't waste your time! read more

Have had this service for 10 years! Both of my sons play their X-Box's on it, with very little problem. We run 3 laptops on a daily basis. Yes, the speeds can be a little slow at time, but 5 minutes to download a form? You might want to have an expert check out your computer itself. I have never had this issue. I am moving to Canyon Country from West Lancaster and hope I can still get this service as, from what I am reading, TW Cable is much worse. read more
