I explained our issue with our AC unit. Since the line was freezing he suspected low freon. We went outside and he measured the freon. After using his equipment he showed me it was low and said there may be a leak. Instead of trying to rip me off right away with a costly service he recommended to refill the freon and for us to check if the issue goes away. He also offered to return without a service fee if it does leak and he needs to come back out to check all the lines. So far so good. If you are looking for an honest, easy to understand AC/heater company Bernie is your guy. Service fee was $75.

Until our hero came......My in-laws contacted Bernie of Four Seasons, he's the guy who repairs and maintains the A/C and Heater in the condos at their place in Van Nuys. He actually opened the A/C unit and fix the cause of leak. The condensation from the A/C now goes properly thru the pipe. Excellent job! The most amazing thing was he only charged us $80. We saved a lot of money, we don't have to suffer sleepless nights of warm weather and our A/C is still running perfectly. :) My husband and I can't thank him enough. I hired Econo West to replace some parts in my heating unit while we were in the middle of a…read morekitchen renovation. Unfortunately, after the repair, one of the parts they worked on caused a significant water leak that resulted in substantial water damage to my home. To their credit, Econo West came back out and corrected the issue with the heater. The bigger problem came a few weeks later when mold began appearing in the walls affected by the water damage. I spoke directly with the owner and went back and forth with him about the situation. Rather than taking responsibility for the mold damage, I was told that I couldn't prove their leak caused it and that the mold could have already been there before the water damage occurred. The owner also wanted to speak with my contractor because he was concerned that we were trying to get an excessive amount of money out of the situation. Ultimately, I had the damaged areas repaired as part of my renovation and decided not to pursue the matter any further. Had I not been doing renovations, I might have pursued it more, but at that point, the time and stress involved simply weren't worth it to me. I'm leaving this review because I think potential customers should know about my experience. Mistakes happen, and I appreciated that Econo West returned to fix the heater issue. What disappointed me was how the resulting damage was handled afterward. When a repair causes a major water leak, I believe a company should stand behind not only the repair itself, but also reasonably address the damage that resulted from it, especially when it has the potential to cause damage to someone's health. Unfortunately, based on how my situation was handled, I would not use Econo West again. Edit: In response to the comment below, the drywall was not replaced behind the cabinets like you said. In fact, it was my contractor that completed that job. The fix you guys made stopped above the cabinet and the mold was found behind the cabinet, directly below the work completed by your team. I have pictures if you would like to see for yourself. This was all discussed previously with the owner. If what you said in your reply is in the notes, then they are falsified.

He was super friendly and listened to my concern. He offered me free diagnostics since he is local. He explain the process online and went to my house to check my unit. After he ran the diagnostics, he contacted me and explained the process. His price was lower that other estimates that I had and he gave me 2 years Warranity. He did maintenance on my ac unit, changed my filter and put Freon. Now I have a ac that cools down my property. I'm so happy that I found jac heating and cooling because nowadays it's not easy to find a company that does what they tell you they would. It was only 7am, but I needed immediate help. I called the first company on the list. Not surprisingly, they didn't answer...too early I suppose. I took a moment and looked at the rest of the list. Then I did something I don't usually do. I called the company with only 4 reviews. After reading those 4 reviews I realized this was probably a one-man business and hoped for some preferred treatment rather than getting in line at a bigger company. I called at 7:15am and Elvis answered right away. I explained my dire situation and the urgency of getting the a/c fixed for my mom. Elvis said he had a few stops already but that he could be there between 11-12. He showed up right at 11am. He was professional and courteous and explained everything to me. He replaced the capacitor and the unit started blowing cold immediately. It took 19 minutes from start to finish. I am so grateful to AV Comfort Specialists for such prompt and speedy service.
