Antelope Valley Plumbing reached out to me with a local number (all the others were 888 numbers and there were no answers when I tried calling). I called Antelope Valley Plumbing and was able to confirm the appointment time I was looking for, which was today at 2. The phone call was no fuss, no muss, and very straight forward. It's rare that it goes that smoothly these days so I was very happy. I received a text @ 1:30 telling me that the plumber, Joey, was in route. 10 minutes later he shows up, lays out the process in which the service will proceed, and it was very upfront and reasonable. In a very short time, my leak was gone, my front yard was no longer flooded, and Joey is a very personable individual who obviously takes pride in the work he does. While the repaired pipe was going thru it's curing time, Joey took the time to discuss some other projects I am looking to get done in the future. He didn't have to do that, but he happily did. I called AV plumbing to install a toilet, shower head and drain to a Kingston tub. The person who showed up would not install the toilet because it had grout around the perimeter, he quoted liability. I was able to remove the grout with my fingers. He said I needed an extra trap on the tub even though there was one installed. He kept quoting CODE and liability. The trap had been installed by a licensed plumber!! He did install the shower head and charged me $230.00 for the installation; did not install the toilet or connect the tub. My husband had to install the toilet and drainage to the tub with no problem. The tub drains well. This guy was so full of himself that all he did was quote CODE and liability. He was not able to think outside of the box or determine how to install a toilet and connect a tub. If he is a licensed plumber, he is certainly lazy and entitled. I made an appointment. The person helping me provided the soonest appointment and I asked for the price as I just got laid off. Every penny counts. The person helping me said they can't provide free estimates. I understand that. I was going to thank him for his time but then he proceeded to say "yeah just get somebody to do the job for free, that's ridiculous" and hung up. Do not use this company. claimed that he $95 charge for the call was to be deducted off any work done and included seeing what the leak was from. Did not find the leak, claimed I needed a $700-800 pressure regulator and charged $150 to repair a running toilet. Charges are outrageous and a complete ripoff from a really bad plumber. Charged $350 overall and basically fixed a running toilet. Total time on the job? Just over an hour. Really cannot tell you to stay away from this company too far enough! Awful! ADDED: So from the explanation I received it appears I was charged $200 for a no show leak detection (which I cancelled before the guy was on his way) and $150 to change out a toilet fill part(s). We had a loud, screeching noise coming from our water heater. We also needed a new kitchen faucet installed. I called AV Plumbing, who came out the same day, which was amazing!! Mike was our plumber. He is very knowledgeable, professional, friendly and honest. He was able to start the work immediately and came back the next day to finish everything up. We had him remove an old water filtration system and replace our water pressure regulator that was shot. The cost he gave us was fair and he did an excellent job. And as a now-retired UBC/ICC Building Inspector: I remain impressed by the high-quality repair and replacement projects that their field crews have steadily provided to me. From clearing my smallest clogged pipe; To replacing my home's main sewer line (without having to dig it up)--these are the plumbers I've hired! From replacing my swamp cooler's motor; To replacing my entire Water Heater--these are the guys I've hired! And when I needed someone to tear-out just a small section of my bathroom's 1954-era underground drain pipes (with the understanding that all work must be completed, in just one single day)--well. These are the folks that I chose to hire, to perform that job. So last weekend, after my ancient bathtub drain had become "Draino"-proof (again): I called AVP for some more non-emergency help. (Again). "James L."--their assigned plumber: Arrived "Masked" at my house, at the very start of our next, local, regular workday. And then he spent almost a full hour, trying to break through what must've been "The Mother of All Clogs"! (Surprisingly: That clog had no hair-or tree roots, in it. It was just a huge blob of accumulated soap and skin lotion residues--that eventually hardened itself to the level of 3,000 PSI waterproof cement). James then cleaned my bathtub, until it was spotless; Before presenting me with a service bill much cheaper than I'd expected. (Less than $175--in Southern Californian taxable dollars!). He also advised me to consider hiring his company to perform a "High-pressure Cleaning" of the same pipes that he'd just unclogged. (Because doing so: May help to remove some of the ancient snags that first convinced my bath's residues, to begin settling there). I told him that I would seriously think about doing that--and then I thanked James (with a decent "Fist Bump", included), for all of his own hard work. AND THERE YOU HAVE IT! This company deserves 10 stars. Our water heater went out and Antelope Valley Plumbing was able to fit us in the same day. Mike was our assigned plumber. After looking at the water heater, Mike knew we didn't need a new water heater, it just needed a new switch. Mike is a top notch plumber and a very nice person as well. We liked him so much, we scheduled him for a return visit to do a few other smaller plumbing jobs around the house.
