5 stars isn't enough…read more This is my favorite record store in the country (sorry Banana's Warehouse in Clearwater - your variety just isn't there) The owners and staff are super friendly and encyclopedic with their knowledge- I just go here and grab anything that looks cool or I've never heard of, pop it on at the listening station (crucial) and always leave with things I've never heard but am now a better music fan having purchased This store has been responsible for so much musical growth for myself and has even translated into my own art. I owe these fine folks a lot, certainly more than my monetary contributions over the years could ever even come close to - this is a Portland institution and I hope it stays open forever. Also - if you're lame or listen to super popular newer bands/acts, there's throngs of other places in Portland that will gladly take your money and sell you what you're after. If this is the case and you accidentally step into Little Axe, things totally happen but maybe don't feel compelled to leave a nasty review because of this. They're doing what they do at an extremely high level, even if it doesn't appeal to your (potentially) limited tastes.

Only the best record store on the entire west coast would know to buy a copy of the Xanadu motion picture soundtrack. And there you have it. Music Millennium is the best record store on the entire west coast. Oh sure, I have about 5,000 other reasons, but that's the most recent one. I've yet to pay a visit and walk out without buying at least 3-4 albums. Add the CDs, DVDs, and all manner of other music/movie-related goodness and this place is the gold standard.

We spent a little over an hour exploring all the different sections. It's a huge store. At front you can see new releases, foreign films, and award movies. Further in there is a whole kids section filled with nostalgic movies. They had a tv show section, films divided by actor/actress starring in them, along with genres like drama, comedy, horror, and more. I love the amount of memorabilia in the space! It was such an inspirational spot to go too. There are so many movies I want to watch now. Everything felt reasonably priced. I also loved the way the store was organized. While we didn't interact with anyone who worked there, overhearing their convos, they seemed so passionate about movie. If I needed anything, I'm sure they would've been super kind and helpful. I loved Movie Madness. This was one of my favorite stops in Portland.

The Owner "RILEY" is a Super Nice Guy, and he is Extremely knowledgeable about Music and Movies. JOEL is his brother and is the Owner as well. Their prices on DVD (and some Blueray) movies are as low a $1, though most of his movies are fairly priced, and are Sequenced in "Alphabetical" order. He has a Expansive VARIETY of ALBUMS as well. He even has Music CDS !, and "Hard to Find" Albums, DVDS, CDS and Blu-rays. RILEY (who I met) is just a REALLY GOOD GUY ! He is a "RARE BREED" when it comes to Business Owners these days. Because ALL that they think of is MONEY and are "GREEDY" ! Everybody that came to the Store left HAPPY, with plenty of "Good Finds". I scored the majority of the Empire and Foundation novels for around $4-$5 a pop (and thank you again!). While it's a small store, it's WILD how many books are packed in here. They're incredibly friendly, super knowledgeable, and have an amazing used book collection (including signed editions for you fancy folks!). Plus, the experience of flipping through the mass market paperbacks while treasure hunting is the best! Every sci-fi/fantasy fan wishes they had a dedicated bookshop.
