I've been to Tomorrow records a couple times now; I'm not local to Portland but this is a shop I would make a point to visit when passing through. The selection is good across a variety of genres and the shop doesn't have a lot of 'filler' (ie, things you see everywhere, bad quality, etc.) Each time I've picked up records here, the prices were reasonable (not bargain bin by any means but also not discogs pricing). The staff is friendly and willing to help those who need an extra hand looking for something in particular. And, personally, I find it to be a very convenient location to get to (in the SE, walking distance from a lot of great bars and restaurants.) read more

This place is the cutest. The staff was so friendly and helpful, I'm a bit of newby and they showed me the ropes. They have such a good selection! I was impressed it wasn't as costly as I expected to get started they have lots of options to get started and continued care of the players too. read more

This little record spot just opened up on Hawthorne in inner SE fairly recently. I ventured in the other day, and while not huge, there's some gems and collectibles. They even have a few turntables for sale. Rock, pop, rock, reggae and punk are well represented. The owner buys records and picks up collections from mostly out of the area but if you have stuff to sell, I'm sure he'll take a look at what you have. Some of the prices are steep but he's got first pressing and rarities. You most definitely need to spend time digging through the vinyls. Enjoy. read more

First time in. Nice worker, no attitude, great collection for the size. Prices are about 10% over Discogs (including shipping) so it's not inexpensive, but it is a worthy addition to our PDX vinyl scene. There are some finds, and they will be priced accordingly. read more

Super great stuff. Wish I had a shop like this locally! I was in town for a weekend and dropped by Tomorrow Records on a whim, hoping to find some gems. And man did I! I had to carefully scale back my pile of LPs, lest I spend my whole paycheck. Lots of great finds - I grabbed some vintage psych, a few dirt cheap new wave albums, some great hardcore and emo records, and a couple jazz and lounge finds as well. It took a bit of soul searching to allow myself to put back some choice finds, but I left with some stuff I had been looking for for a long time (years). Loved that the focus was on used records, which I prefer over expensive repressings if I can help it, and definitely left satisfied. Prices were fair, even for some of the crazy stuff. read more

Service is 3/5 at best, selection is 10/10. They had some gems that I will come back for, but don't expect a greeting. 8/10 records on my list for the day, so I DEFINITELY recommend checking out the shop for things on your to do list. They sell equipment, so you can pick up VERY AFFORDABLE setups for vinyl. Please support this shop, they know how to stock shelves. Some records are very inexpensive, you dont need much to have an awesome time in this shop. You'd be surprised when you take a chance on an album. read more

Tomorrow is one of Portland's best record stores. Great, accessible location which I am sure is reflected in their rent. The record collection is mostly used vinyl, and spans all genres and nationalities. There is much here for everyone from beginners to aged vinyl junkies. Patrick, the manager, is always open to good conversation. The picks of what to play are consistently interesting and enjoyable. There is a continual supply of new records in very nice condition and at very reasonable prices. The high end stock is also always in substantial supply. One of the biggest thumbs up: every record priced at more than $3 is in a plastic sleeve. Maybe more importantly, the price stickers are applied to the outer sleeves instead of the covers. I am totally unclear as to why so many stores continue to put stickers on the covers. These are collectables, people! Would any comic book or baseball card have a sticker on it? This is a solvable problem. I traveled a long way to specifically to go to this record store I'm fr out of town and it took me longer than I thought to get there. When I got there, I asked if I could use the restroom, and prefaced it with I'm going to purchase something... I'm a DJ and drop at least $200 everytime I go into a record store, which means you usually spend lots of time there... and to not allow people to use the restroom while flippantly suggest they walk six blocks is just bad for business. read more

Clean, well organized, kinda fun relatively small store with mostly high quality used records. Prices are high retail. All of the many that I checked against Discogs pricing were being offered at above their average trade values and a some at quite a lot higher than average. In other words fair. They will test play for you if you want on headphones or on their speakers and I was told they do allow for returns. In other words trustworthy. Well curated inventory = No bargain rarities. Not that kind of shop. There are other shops around Portland for better messy bin diving bargain hunting but this is a pleasant enough place for record enthusiasts with broad taste. I came away with a few albums: Some rare and a little expensive and a few in VG condition at around $10. I don't really see how they can compete with MM but it's a fun store and I'm glad they're trying. read more

The selection here is sizable and great for somebody looking to build-up their collection of older, used records. I was able to find several classics (and unusual gems) from various genres. There were some new records here and there, but the selection definitely has a focus on used records. Another positive detail I noticed is that the store didn't seem to be cluttered or unorganized--quite the opposite, actually. And, the pricing was consistent and fair. As I was browsing around the selection, the cashier seemed to be having a friendly, extended conversation with a frequenter, which is always good to see as a new customer. At checkout, the cashier was really kind and made some brief conversation about the albums I decided to purchase. I'll definitely recommend this shop to friends, and hope to come back soon! read more

A well set out relatively new shop. Owner offers and buys a variety of genre and types of recordings eg 78 and LP etc. great place to take your old family collection to sell. He also deals in used equipment like turn tables. Easy to find and parking is good. read more
