Dr. Maslo has been our family dentist for over 25 years. He recently offered to come in at 8:00 on a Saturday night to take care of a dental emergency on his way in from out of town. Then fit me in early morning a few days later to do a follow-up on me. He always takes the conservative approach so as to not gouge you or your insurance. He tries the least invasive route first and only does more when necessary unlike stories I've heard about other practices. Not only that, he is always gentle and kind, constantly checking to make sure you're ok as he's working on you. I wouldn't recommend anyone else! If there were more than five stars to give this dental practice I would! I have been seeing Dr. Maslo and his team for 24 years now. He is the most amazing dentist and the most caring. My children, ages 25, 23, 17, and 13 have been seeing him their entire lives. My youngest son had a dental emergency on a Saturday night and he was willing to open the office to take care of him. Thankfully, we did not have to take him up on his offer. His practice is full equally caring staff. From start to finish you will be amazed at the excellent care and service this practice provides. Dr. Maslo is located on Noblestown Road near the Shop n Save. It may be a little hard to find since parking is on a declining side street near the entrance. The staff is very warm and friendly. He has several dental hygienists to perform routine cleaning and X-rays prior to your exam. He has state of the art equipment. There are TV sets in each exam room so you can "watch" if you can see whatever you choose. Dr. Maslo is very caring and lets you know exactly your dental health and any needs that must be addressed. Most major dental insurance plans are accepted. The waiting room has pictures of small children up to age 10 showing "no cavities" and a video on dental health on the TV. if you live in the nearby area I would certainly recommend the practice to anyone looking for a quality dentist. read more

I cracked a molar a couple weeks ago, and delayed going to get it fixed due to a bad experience with a different dentist in the past. On Saturday, it started to hurt really bad, and I couldn't bare the pain anymore. I called Dr Maslos office, and they were able to get me in immediately on Monday afternoon. They called me back a little while later and told me they could get me in even earlier because of a cancellation. I told dr maslo and his staff about my debacle with a previous dentist, and they went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, and explain every step of the way. They continued to make sure I was ok during the root canal. All my fears have gone away, and I found a dentist that I can trust. The pain was gone even after the pain blocker wore off. I am extremely grateful to dr maslo and his staff, and I would recommend them to anyone that has any kind of fear of having dental work done. read more

If you live in the West End area, or are just looking for a great family dentist in Pittsburgh, Dr. Maslo is the man to see. As soon as I moved back to the 'Burgh last year after an absence of six years, I immediately looked him up and started up my regular hygiene treatments again. Hey, when you're this good, you don't forget it. Dr. Maslo is a great dentist and has a terrific bedside manner. He's not one to scold or belittle patients if they haven't been doing their best. He'll gently prod you in the right direction with suggestions on how to improve your oral care if you haven't been 100% on top of it. The rest of his staff is just as great, from the receptionist to the hygienist and dental assistants. They always make sure you're comfortable in their care. There's a TV in every room, so you can choose what you want to watch (or hear) while you're being worked on. The waiting room has an old Centipede arcade machine to play for free (years back they had a PlayStation and a bunch of games the kids could play while they waited). In all, it's a very relaxing atmosphere and everyone is very friendly. I've had various procedures done here, from routine fillings to root canals and I can safely say that no one else has treated me better or done better work on my teeth. I recently chipped a tooth and went in and told Dr. Maslo that I'm currently witho insurance and could we do the most cost effective, yet still effective procedure. He was happy to help, and didn't immediately go the most expensive route like some dentists might. Luckily he was able to put a filling in and not go full root canal in this instance, though he did suggest a crown on the tooth eventually. So if you're not insured, the prices here are not of the sticker shock variety. Yes, it's cheaper to get work done if you are insured, but the standard rates here are something I was very comfortable with in regards to cleanings and fillings. Moe extensive work undoubtedly ramps up, but this is to be expected. In all, Dr. Maslo and his team is my choice for best dentist around. He takes the time to listen to whatever concerns you may have and addresses them politely and professionally. Plus, his work is top notch. Please give him a try if you're in the market for a new dentist. read more

New patient with an emergency situation and my old dentist has died, plus I have expiring dental insurance. I needed an exam for possible cracked filling and cleaning. Based on these reviews I called Dr. Maslo because people said he is so wonderful and caring. Well, he may or may not be nice himself, but his terse receptionist coldly said they are booked up until September (this is June!) Yes, I get it that there was COVID and dental offices are backed up, but by September I will likely get an abscess or lose a tooth. I asked for any appointment they could offer, a cancellation, etc. -- anything. Receptionist wouldn't even take my name; she actually kind of snickered at me as if she thought I was nuts to ask to be seen sooner than September. I then asked her if they could possibly recommend another dentist who might see me sooner and she said "we've never seen you so we don't make those kinds of recommendations." So much for the "caring" dental practice of Dr. Maslo. Reader, do what you want, but I'm steering clear. read more

The patients are always put first even in these changing times, I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new dentist or is not totally happy with who the go to now for their dental needs or problems.
