From the start, Anthony gave us his vision, listened to what we wanted and we all met in the middle for what turned out to be a beautiful landscape job in our back and side yards. We weren't looking for anything too fancy but Anthony worked with us and was actually present on the job EVERY DAY to create a really nice atmosphere for us. There were pre-existing issues in our yard and Anthony and his crew worked through those with us and really went above and beyond to get it all working and beautiful. In my humble opinion and actual experience I can say the following. I used Anthony's landscaping services well over a year ago and wanted time to pass so I could reflect and make sure my opinion of he and his services were still the same as when he left our house for the last time. In the beginning Anthony was polite and attentive. As time progressed however, his attitude and professionalism became increasingly subpar. He under bid our project to secure our deposit. Told me that if he was over budget he would "eat the costs" and anything under, he would reduce the amount owed. When he realized he was not going to finish our approved plans as promised he decided to end the project and we were left with a torn down gate, cracked cement, and an unfinished fence. He installed a gas line and put a wheel valve handle knob for the shut off mechanism. I asked him to replace it with a handle valve so one can automatically see if the gas was in the off or on position. He would not change it out and said "it was within specs". Thank goodness for the the gas company inspector who told him to not only replace the knob with the correct handle but to dig up the buried gas line and wrap a metal coil around the line so that one can know where the gas line was buried. There is more to this event but will leave it where it belongs, in the past. It is my sincere hope that my negative experience does not befall others. As always, ask lots of questions and get everything in writing. read more

We hired Anthony to re-landscape our front and back yard. An architect drew up plans which Tony bid on. Although his bid was lowest, that was not the primary reason we went with him. Tony's attitude of practicality and how-do-we-save-money convinced us. Lots and lots (and lots) of succulents, decomposed granite walkways, boulders and drought tolerant plants. Anthony worked with and improved the landscape plans. "I know it calls for this but it is not going to make a difference in 18 months. Go with this at 1/3rd the cost." Anthony was reliable, responsive and generous with his time, going with us to local nurseries. We enjoyed working with him, his dog Geo, and his workers. He was at our home for over a month. Surprisingly, given the many changes, we came in at budget. We highly recommend his work. read more

I hired Anthony Marshall Landscape to complete a moderate size project. My project included the installation of concrete pavers for my back patio, pathways, and entrance to my home. Along with hardscaping, turf conversion to drought resistant beautiful California native plants, and planting of trees. I am extremely happy with the end results. Anthony is a top notch landscape designer. He's conscientious and listens to your ideas and your budget. We wanted to update our driveway and make our back yard more kid friendly. Our driveway was so boring, just plain concrete. We didn't want to spend a ton of money, so he suggested that we go with the stamped concrete look. It came out beautifully. Our backyard was rough and unappealing so he designed a great space for us. He installed Astro turf and poured concrete with a cool gas fire pit. Anthony and his assistant quickly tackled my backyard makeover, offering the perfect suggestions to enhance my rough design ideas. Within a week, ground was prepared, irrigation was installed, sod was laid, two dozen plants were in the ground (mostly roses), rock groundcover was spread and footing was prepared for a later fountain delivery. They were also receptive and helpful when I changed my mind or added something new. Anthony also recommended an electrician who made sure the fountain had power and the yard was well lighted.
