We found Pete and Landmark Landscaping online. I could tell from the reviews that people really appreciated his work. Due to that, I reached out to have him re-landscape our family home. He came out walked the property with me. He immediate got what I was trying to do. "Refresh everything with low water consumption plants and a more modern style." The original landscaping was from the 1970's. The overgrown junipers and ficus plants reflected that. The galvanized sprinklers with the leaky, non functional valves, all needed to be replaced. He said to give him a couple of days and he would get back to me. True to his word, he sent me the quote on time. I reviewed it with my wife, but she wanted to understand his plan for the property, so we arranged for him to meet us once again. He explained his vision for the property. He then took us to a Landscape nursery so that we could see the plants he had in mind. My wife like his choices, she picked a couple of flower colors and I picked the type of trees. Pete scheduled the entire thing, all four sides of the property, to be done in one weekend. He came out with his crew and demo'd everything, installed new drainage, new sprinklers (including drip irrigation) and laid new sod, planted the plants and trees and laid out the gravel and crushed granite walkways. It came out spectacular. The house really looks brand new with the new grass and plants. His crew and he fixed a number of problems and really changed the look of the house. Second time we hired Landmark Landscape. The job was to transform our backyard into our vision from how we purchased our home originally. Pete the business owner helped make our vision into a reality. He has many ideas and takes yard size, color and shape into his design aspect. From selecting plants, ground surface materials to adding accent pieces. The plants and rock material came from local small business. The start date and time was set for a Saturday at 8am and was scheduled for two days. The crew arrived on time. The crew had their specialties like irrigation, grading, cultivating soil, and moving and hauling old/new mateials. But they all worked efficiently as a team. Pete My wife and I recently completed a major landscape project of our front and back yard. One of the last steps was planting a lovely camphor tree in the front yard. Pete and his team helped us pick out the tree, delivered it and planted it for us. A very professional crew they got it done in a day and, almost a year later, I'm happy to say our tree is doing well and looks great! Pete was also very generous with his time and expertise in advising us on the best way to lay down some weed barrier, rocks and edging. As much as I wanted to hire him and his crew to do it for me I work in the entertainment industry and with so many strikes happening (this was the summer of '23) I was home so much I decided to tackle the project myself. It had been draining very slowly for years and after the last rains we knew we needed to finally do something about it. Jose and the guys found the trouble spot (a cracked drain pipe with a tennis ball stuck!) They replaced several feet of clogged pipe, installed new drains and even worked with the gutter company to make sure the new gutters aligned with the new drains. We are very happy with our recently completed front and back yard remodel done by Landmark Landscape Inc. from Simi Valley. We met with Peter to discuss our vision for the remodel. Peter listened and designed the remodel based on what we hoped to have - a drought tolerant and beautiful yard. The old irrigation system was converted into drip lines throughout the planters, and the lawn irrigation system was reconfigured to ensure proper coverage throughout. Peter's team added a new drainage system from the backyard to the front yard sidewalk and to make room for the drainage pipe, the team had to cut a 20 inch sized root from a 43 year old camphor tree. Peter's team are all hardworkers who were careful nothing is damage in the irrigation lines and property. They always leave the yard clean when done for the day. Peter was always at the site ensuring work is done as designed. He even spent time with us at a local nursery to choose the drought tolerant trees and plants for the front and back yards. Loved touring the nursery in a motorized cart. The combination of hardscape and landscape project was daunting, but Peter and his team did a fantastic job transforming a drought damage yard into a beautiful and water efficient landscape. This company is excellent for all size yards, especially when there are challenges. We have lived in the same house for 27 years. Our front yard has always been easy to landscape, but the backyard has been nearly impossible. We bought the house with a pool in the back, but the surroundings of the pool were hideous. We have too much brick! It faces a huge retaining wall and a dreadful hill that grew only weeds, no matter how many times we planted flowers and trees. We wanted it to be colorful. The main problem was there was no access to the hill. Pete got an excellent mason to build steps that matched the weathered brick around the pool. Now our gardeners can get up there, and so can we! We have lemon and lime trees up there along with flowering colorful plants. It did not compromise the integrity of the brick wall and looks like it was always there. He then stained some bamboo that we had and placed it on the brick wall to soften the look. His staff worked on improving the soil and he attached a drip system to each of the plants. We trusted Pete to pick out the correct plants that would provide color and would grow on the hill. Lastly, he put colorful mulch to cover the small hoses from the drip system. This provides coverage, color and helps keep the plants moist and will hopefully keep weeds to a minimum. He made great choices for all plants around the pool. Everything looks like it belongs. My mother in law and sister in law recommended Pete to us. He did a lovely job on both of their yards which are both extensive. We are all pleased with knowledgable, creative Pete and his polite, hard working staff. We highly recommend this company.
