Felt pretty conflicted on whether or not I should write this review, but I felt I probably should for other customers. I came here before once to try out this place and didn't like how my gel manicure turned out, but I kept it to myself and didn't bother reviewing because I'm cautious giving out poor reviews. I understand how that can affect small businesses. Unfortunately, this past weekend, I came here for my friend's bachlorette party as it was part of the itinerary to get our nails done together. Worst experience I've ever had in my life. I speak and understand Vietnamese. The guy who did my nails apparently thought I didn't and proceeded to talk shit about my nails, as well as others in Vietnamese. He'd make small conversation with me in English and then switch to Vietnamese to talk about my friends and me. I felt so uncomfortable and awkward the whole time and didn't bother calling him out because I didn't want to make a scene on my friend's special weekend. Not only that, but he was making fun of the receptionist in Vietnamese (the receptionist was not Vietnamese; when I asked her if she understood Vietnamese when I checked out - she said she was part Korean). Look, most nail places don't talk about their customers in such a degrading manner to their faces. Most of the time when they're doing my nails, they're just talking about their family, work schedules, kids, etc. to their colleagues. If you hear them speaking in a foreign language, they're usually not talking about you...This has been my first experience where I've encountered someone who was this catty, fake, and fit the bill for the awful stereotype against nail technicians. Not only that, but he had over-cut my cuticles during my pedicure and my toe was bleeding. It's ironic how he was talking shit when he did a poor job on my nails. He also messed up the gel polish on my left hand, had to remove the whole thing, and re-do it. Instead of taking his time with it, he re-did it sloppily and there were a bunch of air bubbles. On a normal basis, I would just let it go, but his disgusting behavior paired with his incompetence really ruined the whole morning for me. $64 (without tip) for gel manicure, regular pedicure, and to have a nail technician talk crap about you to your face lol Just go to another nail salon and don't bother with this place. I can recommend a bunch of nail salons in the NOVA area with kind, hardworking, and friendly nail technicians that don't talk shit about you. read more

I had a $70 pedicure. The nails are all uneven. Not toe to toe but each toe. My heal has a patch of dry skin that never got scrubbed. The woman was distracted and inefficient. Took her 90 minutes to do this. Paraffin was nice but that's hard to ruin. Stone massage was boring. No effort was put into it. She kept looking at her watches if she had somewhere else to be. read more

This was my first experience at this salon - I walked in on a Friday afternoon bc I was in the area and in a rush. The place was empty so I waited 10 mins and went back. Needed to have my gel removed and regular polish applied. The nail tech nicked the polish and tried to fix it but she applied the polish horizontally and couldn't get the line to blend, so I asked her to remove and reapply. She got mad, started knocking the bottles around, and reapplied each coat of the polish without letting it dry in between coats and this is the result, which was no surprise. The woman at the desk offered to have her come back and fix it again, but I wasn't interested in spending any more time with a mad nail tech. Kathy is the best nail technician I've ever had in my life. Besides being always on time and never canceling my appointments, she exceeds my expectations with each visit. I get a minimum of three weeks out of my nail services. Sometimes the only reason I come in after three weeks is strictly because I want to change the color. I would bet that her nails last beyond three weeks. She is so precise and her shaping and pays an immense amount of attention to detail. I always have fun when I am at the salon her and her neighbor CeCe are always a good time. My one complaint that I have about is the lack of interest they have in getting new colors. This is not a reflection of my technician whatsoever, but strictly on behalf of management. Being that I am also in the service industry I have referred so many people to this salon. I feel like as a valued customer requesting that they order fresh polishes or new polishes to keep up with trends is a pretty minimal request. Unfortunately, I am finding myself wanting to go elsewhere strictly for this reason. Being that I am also in the cosmetic profession I like to have fun trendy Nails and the manager has denied my request on so many times to update their polish select selections. It is unfortunate because I love these girls so much, but being on the cutting edge of style I would really love to see them get more selection of colors and be a little more fashion forward. The industry is ever changing and there are so many different types of nail services and colors that they do not offer because the manager has denied the request of BOTH customers and the technicians. This was my go to place for pedicures(hence the 2 stars) For some dumb reason I thought that they could do a full set acrylic with gel polish....nope. I went on Saturday to get my nails done, after saying what I wanted about 30 times during the full set I gave up because it just wasn't coming out right. Decided to go back today to get my nails cut shorter(because the nail tech i was with acted like she didn't know what short meant) and to get the polish redone because it was bubbling, streaky and had lint in it. They charged me $33 to fix their mistake and they were still trash. Never again. read more

I left work EARLY at 7 PM just to visit this nail salon. I arrived at the nail salon at 7:15 PM the nail salon does not close until 8 PM yet as soon as I walked in they told me that they would not have time to take me. It is a horrible policy to turn down your customer's almost an hour before you close. There was one person waiting for service. They clearly need better staff or staff that actually want to be there. I got my nails done here for the first and last time. My nails were wildly uneven and when I asked about it I was really told it was because I had crooked nails. When she used her tools it hurt, but I didn't want to say anything. After I held one hand and she said "oh you moved your hand it wasn't my fault" because my nail beds were bleeding and swollen. In some good news - I just got my nails done at a wonderful place! All I could do was laugh when the nail technician questioned what happened to me. She actually asked if it was ok to take pictures of each of my nails because in her entire career she had never seen anything as bad as what had been done to my nail beds. She asked if I said anything after this appointment, and if so, what they did about it. Well, I did reach out to let them know what happened but never heard anything back. I am sad to write this because I have been coming here for over a year and some of the ladies seem really sweet and good at their job. Unfortunately I have had the same guy the last several times I went and each time he cut me badly, to the point of bleeding. One time it was bad enough that it got infected. He never apologized, he actually just brushed me off and kept it moving. And took no extra steps given the contamination by my blood. But the last straw was when I took my niece and she got paired with the guy and he cut her on two fingers. How is this okay? I almost wonder if he does it on purpose because he enjoys hurting people. This place is very beautifully decorated! I brought my daughter for a mom/daughter day and it was nice but nothing really that set this place apart from other nail salons (other than being new). I don't know why but I was expecting someone offering us hot tea and making sure we were good. Don't get me wrong the hostess did ask if we wanted a drink before we sat down but she just split a soda can into two cups and no one asked again if we wanted a refill. I moved to the area on May 4, 2018 and I've ONLY gone here for my manicures and pedicures due to convenience but I'm no longer going to be their customer. As of today, my cuticles and the skin around my toenails and fingernails are cracking, peeling and irritated. Anthony Vince gives off a luxurious ambiance but it's become very apparent that they use very cheap products for their paying customers which is not fair. My husband noticed my feet a few months ago which is why I scheduled an appointment with a podiatrist and they have suggested I seek another location or do at-home mani/pedi. Why on earth didn't I read the reviews prior to going to this place?? I have no idea. It's against how I operate! It looks good on the inside, clean and polished. Hannah was my tech, pleasant and new to the area. I requested the the AV spa pedicure. The chair is uncomfortable and my hind parts aches after about 20 minutes into the service. Everything was going fine until the tool that looks like a cheese grater, appeared! Whoaaaaaa isn't that against the rules in VA!! These actually make the bottom of your feet worse than before you come in for service! I picked a color similar to what I had on but swirled to a yellow gold. This place is not disability friendly and does not give you the time of day if you aren't a middle aged woman. DO NOT go here if you are a teen of any kind because they will upcharge you SEVERELY. I got my acrylics filled for $75 THAT IS THE PRICE OF A WHOLE NEW SET. I also struggle with ADHD so sitting still can get challenging, I try breathing techniques and everything but the lady doing my nails kept speaking her language under her breath every time I would slip up. This place is lovely in appearance. And I've had one good pedicure. The last two times I have been I have left with all ten toes bleeding and the tops of my toes so tender after callous treatment I still can not walk normally six days out. I am a runner and now have blisters on six toes because so much skin was removed. I understand callous removal but I have never had a pedicure this painful. read more

However the second time I went (just a few weeks later to get my dip removed and replaced as it had grown out) I had a different nail technician "Cece". She complimented me on my baby bump (no problem) but then later had the audacity to ask, upon finding out that it's my 4th little one, if all of the children are for my husband, amongst other inappropriate questions clearly trying to ascertain my economic status and nothing at all to do with my nails. She also then started to speak and laugh in assumably Vietnamese to her nearby colleague. When I did change the conversation to my nails to ask for a slightly different shape while she was filing, she had an attitude. Truly a shame to put such a sour taste in my mouth as someone who recently moved to the area and would have regularly patronized the business. Just throw the whole place away! Gave them a second chance to fix my nails. I was cut again, there were so many bubbles in my polish you would have thought it was part of the style. The worst part was the lady who took my credit card off my mani area (had it sitting with my keys because i didn't bring in my purse) and decided to charge me. I let it slide because I did have to pay anyway. But then she rushed me to sign my receipt while my nails were still being painted. Literally, she came over 3 times-I finally had to tell her that she was being extremely rude and to be patient. I mean really-she had already ran my card and taken my money-was it going to kill her to wait 5 minutes for a signature. My nail tech had to apologize on the lady's behalf. Heard good things from a friend. There was a group of us, so we gave it a try. Pedi was fine. A glass of wine is always nice. The dipping powder (not sns brand) was done too thin. I've never had this happen, but it is chipping off. It's been three days. I'm glad I went several days before my vacation. I would rate this salon a solid 3. There a couple of things that I did and did not like. But before I begin, I will say I'm a little biased because I'm from California, nonetheless there is a couple things to improve on. I recently went, like a week and a half ago, for the first time. I was looking for a nail salon that could take me in the same day, and had decent reviews. They were the only ones I could fine so I do appreciate that! The salon seems very clean and organized which I love. The nail tech that I had, even though was nice, seemed rushed and tired. Which is okay, I'm understandable. My biggest issue is that I think all of the nail techs, I'm not 100% sure, don't know how to do more designs other than the basic ones, such as ombré and French tip. I think it might be the clientele, because I just don't see why they can't pay to learn. In my opinion it can bring more people in, which equals more income. Next, I was just more disappointed because I ended up getting a basic full acrylic with a one solid color, gel and was charged 65. In California, for the same thing I got, it could've been $45-50 max. In their defense, I checked out their price list and it did match but still, for something soooo basic. And to top it off, the nails weren't exactly even, but thankfully you can't tell unless you feel them.nLastly, it might seem minimal but I don't ever mind tipping, but I feel like I'm pressurized to tip, then I no longer compelled to. I did tip her but I would've rather not have to feel like I had to. Leave that up to the customer! Overall, the experience was okay (kudos to this place for being able to take essentially a walk-in) . Atmosphere was good, love the color on my nails, but pricing and types of service offered were disappointing. Will probably not be coming back to this location.. it's just not my type of salon when they can't offer more than the basic. I have been going to Anthony Vince in Ashburn for the last several months since I moved to the area. Up until today I have loved it! The last time I got a manicure, the nail technician suggested I try the dip nails, so I did. However, I did not like them as much as a gel manicure for reasons not relevant to this post. So today, I wanted to go back to gel polish. I was charged $10 for the dip nail removal, for wanting to go back to gel even though the removal process is exactly the same. Their menu pricing clearly states that there is a $10 fee for removal WITHOUT SERVICE. I wanted to go back to gel, which is considered a service. This is taking advantage of your customers and completely unfair. I could understand if I was going from dip to Normal polish or gel to normal polish. But, again, the removal process for dip manicure and gel manicure are exactly the same. This does not warrant a $10 fee and I am extremely disappointed about it. I would not recommend to have your nails done by Andy at this location. He rushed through my acrylic dip powder manicure. He was also extremely rough and heavy-handed with his nail tools. At one point, I had to pull my hand away from him and verbalized that he was hurting me. To alleviate my discomfort, he added pressure to side of my finger with such nuisance. At that point, I had to tell him to just stop the service and remove the thick, pathetic, misshapen acrylic dip powder he piled on top of my nails. He then told me it was because I had very small nails so it was difficult to do dip powder on them, which was not even brought to my attention prior to us beginning the process. After he removed the dip powder, he arrogantly kept saying "that's fine by me". I brought this to the manager's attention (Mai), however, I became even more disappointed by her insincere apology along with the "advise" to only get gel manicures and not acrylic dip powders in the future due to the size of my nails and nail beds???!!! They did offer to fix it after my complaint but I did not have the time to stay nor wanted to. The professionalism and quality of service I received at this nail salon was an embarrassment to One Loudoun and certainly a disappointment to new customers. read more

I tried this nail salon for the first time on Thursday and I will never go back. I have been seeing a nail tech at a different salon for years and been very happy with her, but since I recently moved to One Loudoun I thought I would check this salon out as a closer option. The nail tech wasn't particularly friendly, but that didn't bother me much as I don't need to talk during my appointments and I get their job can be exhausting. I brought in a sample photo of nail art (French tips and flowers) that I wanted and she assured me she could do it. When I pointed out that the flowers didn't match and asked if she could fix some smudged flowers and off-looking dots, she said "no that's too many". It didn't look terrible, so I let it slide and just made a mental note not to return. I asked for gel polish, and she forgot to use gel twice, removing the polish and starting over, making the appointment last twice as long. She kept saying she was feeling so hot, so I let that slide, too, as her being stressed. At no point did I consider this bad enough to leave a review on Yelp. Bad enough to mention to friends irl, sure. But not enough to start warning strangers on the internet. I've been getting regular gel manicures for years. My only break was the pandemic, and I followed instructions to keep my nails strong. I came into the appointment with long, healthy nails. In the 4 days since the appointment, 4 of my nails have broken. I don't know if it's because she removed 2 attempts at a manicure before finding the gel polish or if she has a poor technique overall, but this will take me a month to regrow unless I'm willing to try acrylic nails for the first time in my life. I'd leave 0 stars if I could. Update: I took the owner up on their offer of a fix. The repair was not free, but I was astounded by how natural the dip extension they placed on my nail looked. The first nail tech I worked with asked me what color packaging my original gel polish had come with and then matched my nail color from that brand. When I pointed out it was the wrong color, she didn't acknowledge it at first, and then since she had another customer waiting for a pedicure, she passed me off to Ryan. Ryan was great! He got my nail looking decent, redid the nail art when he realized it didn't look right (without me having to say anything!!), and did an excellent job. Unfortunately, as good as the repair is, I don't feel it looks as good as my natural nail did. I've also been alternating between gel (when I want nail art) and dip powder for years and never experienced a break before visiting this salon. I've been here several times for a powder dip manicure, and it's been great every time! Today I had Jane as my nail technician and I'm so happy with how my nails turned out! The salon is always clean, they have A TON of colors to choose from, and you can have a drink to totally relax if you want. I've never had a pedicure here, but I'm sure they're great, too. I have been going to AV nail spa for a while but feel that after Covid their level of service and staff has deteriorated. Today I met Gigi. Right off the bat, noticed she wasn't careful with my pedicure and ofcourse I got a ( small) cut from her clippers . The pedicure massage lasted less than 30 secs. After that I got my gel polish done for the hands. They now charge an extra $5 for removing gel polish. Previously they would charge this amount only when a client was getting regular polish and not gel , after a gel removal. What got me most was when she removed the toe separators and it messed up my polish on the big toe- she noticed it but didn't do anything about it. I would have expected a willingness to re do. As I didn't have time, I didn't ask her to but it shows the level of service. Lastly she didn't offer to carry my shoes to the drying table, all things which I experience at other salons in the area. I feel they regard themselves as superior to other salons without any clear benefits . I only went here as I was in the area but for sure know there are much better nail salons within a one mile distance to AV. read more

The salon is beautiful, and I do like that they offer you a complementary drink. However I was unimpressed with the manicure I received. Not only did I request the "Signature" manicure and received the normal (thankfully not charged for the signature) but when I requested that there be no white left on my nails and to be even against the skin that wasn't done and it looks uneven. Personally I can cut my own nails and get a better result. Very disappointing with overall as I'd expect an actual nail salon such as Anthony Vince to do better than my gym that offers spa services at Lifetime Athletic. Update - after the reply I wanna point out I did tell the person working on mine that she said she'd fix it and it wasn't done. So I did exactly what the manager advised me do. First off, I would like to start by saying I'm an African American woman who would like to pursue her career in the beauty industry because I want to give people a chance to make them feel good about themselves, regardless of their appearance. With that said, I just recently spoke to the manager, Mai, about working at the Anthony Vince Nail Spa, to start off as a receptionist until I get my cosmetic licenses in the near future and progress within the community as the years go on. The conversation went well until she told me that my hair was "crazy" and "a little too unprofessional" for the job. She also stated that it's all about customer service and how people may not see me as a professional employee because of my hair. I wear my hair naturally and my curls are very full, but her words whether she meant well or not, hurt my self esteem. In fact, I did address my concerns to her, and Mai's response was just as shallow as her remarks during the interview. To my brothers and sisters, if you are thinking about working or attending this salon, or anywhere where the environment is like this, consider this your warning. Micro aggressions are real and there is nothing that will convince me otherwise. read more

This place is just another run of mill nail place just with over the top decor. I have been here twice and both times I felt the staff was not very friendly and could barely speak English. Nobody offered me a drink either time. Think I will start going back to my regular place now. They do a decent job on nails. I had dip powder but was a little disappointed in color selections (the number of colors was adequate but the color themselves weren't that great).
