This place did not disappoint! From the food, to the service, the ambience and finally the artwork. Let's start with the outside was the cutest and just draws you into the spot. Once seated we were approached immediately and I ordered an Arnold Palmer and it was fantastic to see this wasn't the south. My appetizer was the lobster bisque with the drizzled sherry and my picture does nothing to convey the party that started in my mouth and continued when my entree arrived. Shrimp and lump blue crab salad which didn't disappoint. I honestly could go for one right now. This place was a true vibe and the atmosphere was so inviting. This place is a must visit on your list if you are in Plattsburgh or even close to Plattsburgh. Great picture location. We snapped a few beautiful pictures

Grilled Chicken Breast Salad but ordered Steak in place of the chicken.

Anthony's is a must while visiting Plattsburgh. I am up from Atlanta visiting my boyfriend often and this is outlet date night place. The ambiance is charming and the service is always impeccable. We ate there a week ago and I forgot our servers name. But he was super friendly and did an awesome job that evening. He is young, tall, dark hair and wore diamond studs. Sorry I don't have his name because I highly recommend him. In regards to the cuisine, Anthony's makes THE BEST French Onion soup in the world!! It is a menu staple and we both always begin our meals with a bowl of that yummy magic. I also ordered the grilled chicken breast salad, and asked if I could change it to a filet and our server and the chef accommodated my request. Their house made Dijon vinaigrette was the perfect complement to dress the salad. Looking forward to my next visit to Anthony's.

Presentation of food was great. However, medium well should not bleed. Server did not make it over to the table to check on how things were. Server asked how things are when dropping the food off to table. I did speak with the owner and he did not give any care. Instead was making excuses on why I should except a meal that was too undercooked. After all, I can't make my filet raw if it was cooked to my order. Lost my business. I will NEVER go back!!! Think twice about eating here, and be prepared to be dissatisfied. The owner does not care about his customers. Only his money. I have eaten at many high end restaurants and do not mind paying for a good meal. The owner was a turn off thus bringing down customer service.

"Upscale European dinning in a n 1800s restored farmhouse....SOLD. Found this place after googling restaurants in upstate New York. We were out of town for work. Arrived at open with people already in line. Ordered filet Oscar and spice rubbed bison. Both were great and served with carrots, potatoes, and Brussels sprouts. For dessert blackberry/raspberry pie and house made peppermint stick ice cream. Nice cozy fireplace. Good service. Exactly as described and expected. Would love to visit in the future.

I'm old enough to remember the original CMB and it was great back then. I've been hoping it would get back to that level again and it has. Friendly service, solid food, perfect setting. We had a great evening. Our table had several different entrees ordered and I'll rate them... Lobster salad - excellent! Delicious, perfectly cooked lobster on a bed of fresh greens. Simple but perfect. Seafood Saute - lots of seafood over pasta. Very good. Stuffed Shells - Yum! Perfectly cooked, great presentation (yes, stuffed shells presented beautifully.) Scallop casserole - The only dud at the table. Watery and VERY overcooked scallops, too cheesy. The drinks were perfect, wine crisp and delicious. The staff was attentive and wonderful. We are looking forward to CMB being our new go-to waterfront restaurant in the Plattsburgh area.

Well worth the trip outside of Plattsburgh for some great food in an incredible atmosphere. The interior had a bit of a smell to it - not sure of the source. We sat out on the deck overlooking the water. Service was good and the food was great. As good, if not better than Irise's and Anthony's in town.

The restaurant has a cozy, rustic vibe -- think cabin-in-the-mountains charm. The menu was a bit limited, especially with appetizers, but we went with the mussels from Prince Edward Island, and they were incredible. Seriously, some of the best I've had. That said, the portion of bread they served alongside was laughably small, especially for a dish made to share. For our mains, we ordered two different burgers, both medium rare, and unfortunately, they were both overcooked. It was disappointing because the burgers themselves were huge and packed with flavor. The fries, though, were excellent and saved the meal a bit. On the drinks side, the martini I had was fantastic. Overall, I'd rate this a 3.5 but am rounding up to 4 since it was our first visit, and I can see the potential.

I tried the Veggie Spring Rolls appetizer, with spicy aioli. The veggies were crisp as were the wrappers. There was a flavor that I couldn't place, not disagreeable but strange - or should I say intriguing? Unfortunately it was overpowered by an excess of ginger and way too much salt. The aioli was very disappointing: bland, thin, and blended smooth. It reminded me of thousand island dressing right out of a bottle. Their drinks menu had some interesting cocktails, a very small selection of wines, not just one hard cider but two, and a rotating selection of beers on tap. If you want a bottle you have choices - Bud or Bud Lite! I tried the pineapple daiquiri. It was way too sweet with not great pineapple flavor. I would hope they were using fresh juice but it sure didn't taste like it. For my entree I got the Gorgonzola Encrusted Filet Mignon, with mashed potatoes, caramelized onions, sauteed garlic, grape tomatoes, and balsamic drizzle. I remember really liking this last visit. But it was nowhere as good this time and looked nothing like the beautiful photo on their website. The gorgonzola, which was ample and crispy last time, was scarce and not "encrusted": soft and not even completely melted. Just a slab placed on top of the steak. And first time there was enough that it melted onto the potatoes underneath for more flavor. Not this time. So much for their motto "delicious, unpretentious (and consistent) food." Beware specifying doneness here. Both times, I (and the wife last visit) ordered it medium-rare. All three were somewhat under that level, slightly more than rare but not by much. She sent hers back last time and they corrected it. I probably should have too but didn't as I'm a little more tolerant of underdone steak. But the biggest problem so far in the meal? The entree arrived not more than 5 minutes after my appetizer, which I had only just begun to eat. That's a serious no-no in any restaurant, let alone one that tries to identify as "fine dining". I was having a relaxing meal, nibbling my appetizer, sipping my drink, contemplating life, and out of the blue this plate of steak is plopped onto my table! I expressed my surprise and displeasure to my waitress, whose specific response I don't recall but didn't make any sense, but she did immediately box up the spring rolls for me as I asked. Dessert was a Raspberry Lemon Drop: layered lemon cake with raspberry puree and lemon custard. It was served very cold which I liked. But surprisingly lacking in much lemon flavor, and especially the brighter notes like grated lemon zest of which there was none. The division of the dining area into many small rooms is likely a reflection of its conversion from a house in a prior life. This could make it a problem to find your waiter if you need them, but it didn't impact me personally this visit or last. The biggest problem is noise, especially if a large party is nearby as happened on the first visit. The "Wal-Mart special" air conditioner in the window, complete with dangling power strip to a distant outlet contributed to the noise on the second visit and certainly made the place feel less classy. My waitress in general was polite and adequate but we never did "click" as far as the waiter/diner relationship is concerned. And never once was I asked how things were going, how I liked the food, etc. I did write my comments in the suggestion box on leaving, with my name and contact info, but 2 months later and I haven't heard back. They have a great website with lots of photos by category. Including photos and names of all the staff, bios of the chefs, local info, and lots of dogs. I think they quality as "dog-obsessed" here, even closing their voicemail message with a "Woof!" Good place to bring your dog though, on the outside patio. Worth another visit? Maybe, given the limited choices in the area? But I had hoped for better.

We ordered the rolls, tuna crudo, oysters, tagliatelle (2 orders) and a fish dish. Only the one fish dish was good. Everything else was fresh but not at all to our taste. Because the food was fresh, we rated it a 3 to be fair. Obviously a lot of people like it, so maybe check some of my other local reviews to see if our taste aligns, but I would not go here again. Not to mention that it was very expensive. For the above with a couple drinks was $315 including tip. And the portions are fairly small, so come hungry, leave broke and still hungry.

I was excited to try this place with the reviews but was a little apprehensive when we pulled up - small strip mall that has seen better days but we were hungry and figured we would give it a shot. The interior is cute -- but small. Not many tables but thankfully we were on the early side for dinner so only one other table was occupied when we arrived. We quickly decided what we wanted to eat and placed our order. Our salads came out fast and they were very delicious. I am a sucker for black olives so was thrilled to see them on the salad. I noticed that the other table (a couple) were still waiting for their meal and it showed up a short time later. A few more tables were seated and we were still waiting for our meal. It became evident that there was one server and one cook. When our meal showed up, we were not disappointed. The sauce on my chicken parm was savory with just a hint of sweetness. And it had chunks of tomatoes in it - huge plus for this tomato loving gal! I don't know where they got this chicken breast but it was huge! It was very well seasoned and probably one of the best chicken parms I've ever had in my life! For dessert, my hubby decided to get the cannoli dip. I'm bummed that I cannot eat dairy cuz that dessert was massive! My husband barely put a dent in it and took the rest home for a snack later on that evening. We would definitely come back again if we are in the area!
