Every single time I visit Plattsburgh, My facility and I have to have dinner at Anthony's, one of the best restaurants in Upstate New York. Last night, I had the salmon with garlic and lemon, escargots and crepe brûlée- all so perfectly prepared. My family had the filet and pork tenderloin, farm to table salads and blackberry pie with home made vanilla ice cream- all of our plates were clean when we left! The attention to detail by the chef and wait staff was superb last night and has been each time we've been here to visit. Can't wait to visit again. read more

I'm a local gal from Plattsburgh and Anthony's has always been the dinning location for my family when it's someone's birthday or a special occasion. It is a tad on the pricer side, but the food is always very good. I love the atmosphere in the bistro section, which also is a bit cheaper than the regular dinning room. This restaurant charged my credit card $200 ! It's pretty much normal for a fancy restaurant you will say.. But the fact is I have never been in Plattsburgh, NY in my life. I live in California and when I sow this charge I my statement I got shocked! It shows as telephone or mail order transaction. Be aware of fraud they doing! read more

By far the best place to eat in Plattsburgh very affordable all staff gives you excellent customer service every time you visit. Delicious meals without a doubt the best food in town I can't praise this fine restaurant enough. Tasty, but pricey. Came here for dinner with a group. The service was great and the building is neat. The food was tasty, but on the pricey side. Pretty typical Italian fare. Great for a nice dinner. Went here a week ago.was up in Plattsburgh for my sons gradution. I went with my mom. Omg!!! The place is so nice,great food, piano player was so pleasant,decor outstanding..everyone who served us or came by our table were super nice and asked us how everything was.. especially Jim..I wish they had more places like this in Long Island. oh mom said it was the best fettuccine she's ever had.I had the fillet mignon..Delicious! So I thought I was doomed to a chain in the frozen tundra. I asked the local pharmacist (always a good source of information-even non pharmaceutical related) for a recommendation- he thought about 2 seconds and told me about this place. Unbelievable! I had never heard of poached clams. They were outstanding-in a wine butter broth with tomato and chives. I chose a pork dish. They take a loin of pork,pound it flatter and sautéed with procuitto and cheese-to die For! This is an incredible find in the middle of frozen northern New York I'll be back whenever I'm in the area. read more

My boyfriend and I were in Plattsburgh for a long vacation weekend. We didn't want to cook on Saturday night so we yelped good eats in the area and Anthony's popped up. The service was truly wonderful. Everyone was so nice and attentive so for that they deserve some stars. The food, unfortunately, wasn't as spectacular. My lobster bisque appetizer was quite tasty and would probably order that again. My entree of the wild boar medallions in tomato jus served over linguine was very underwhelming. I really did want to love this place considering the level of service that we received, but unfortunately, the food fell flat. This place has a cute semi-romantic atmosphere so I totally wouldn't discount it for another visit. read more

We have relatives who live in Plattsburgh, and we've been to Anthony's a few times over the past years. The dinners have always been enjoyable. This time I ordered the petite New York strip steak and had a chocolate mousse cake dessert. Both items were delicious. The green beans which came with the steak were especially well prepared. Normally I have coffee, but not tonight, so can't comment on it. This is a welcoming restaurant with very good food. read more

Stopped on a road trip to Canada. Great food, great service and a wonderful location. Try any special. We had 5, including a local beer and 2 desserts. The duck spring roles, homemade ice cream and homemade sausage were great. The local beer plucky rooster? I think also very good. Our waitress was both friendly and helpful. A pleasant experience. We went to dine on our anniversary. We sat at the bar because we really like to be entertained. We both had a small caesar salad for our appetizer. Very good. A little stingy on the croutons. My boyfriend had chicken penne from the bar menu. The sauce was delicious and had a little smoked Gouda. I ordered a seafood risotto which was amazing. I'm taking a star off because of the limited selection available for white wine by the glass - nothing stellar really - and the fact that they charge you for each soda refill (2.49$!) in the smallest glass possible that was mostly ice anyway... Loved the food and service. Dined here the last two nights on business. The snapper was possibly the best I have ever had. The shrimp and scallop risotto was fantastic as well. Ask for Steve. He was a great server. Of, also, get the warm cheesecake or tiramisu if they have it. read more

Fantastic food and wonderful desserts with a good wine list! They can make great cocktails if you show them a recipe but I suggest staying clear cocktail list. The beer selection is limited but could be great with some additional selections or different options. Wonderful service and fun piano music in the bistro on the weekends. In town for business and noticed the restaurant after Googling and coming up empty, What a pleasant place with friendly staff, delicious food, and fair prices. I was very impressed they had Escargot on the menu and it was delicious! I also ordered the Pasta Bolognese and was pleasantly surprised with the great quality. I requested suggestions on wine from Debra the bartender and was again very pleased. Debra was a delight to talk to and we had a great time. The whole staff seemed genuinely interested in making sure the dining experience matched the quality of the food. I would highly recommend the place to anyone!! read more

Stopping in Plattsburgh enroute home from a Quebec vacation, we popped into this pretty gem of a restaurant in Plattsburgh, a town we'd never previously visited. The food was delicious! We ordered a green salad, NY strip steak, Cajon cod (a special), and key lime pie for dessert. Not only is the place and staff warm and welcoming, but everything we ordered was beautifully prepared and presented and absolutely scrumptious! Who knew? We also enjoyed the beer and white wine we ordered. How could I have forgotten to mention the warm and crusty bread? The prices are very reasonable too. Anthony, would you please open a branch in Manhattan? Pretty please? Otherwise, we will be forced to make regular pilgrimages to Plattsburgh! read more

After a full day of driving my daughter and I went to Anthony's based upon the Yelp rating. Perhaps one of the best of town but I doubt it. The French Onion soup was very good. The calamari was fried but not deep fried and is worth trying. The duck was awful. If you like dry with a minimum of sauce this is perfect. If you prefer moist and tender this is not the meal for you. The duck was one of the more expensive meals on the menu. I ended up eating only a portion of it. A special of the day was cod and my daughter had that. Even though it was very salty it was better than the duck. Went in filled with great expectations. Left just glad to be leaving. read more

Made reservations on our 15th anniversary. Waited more than 5 minutes in the lobby and we (and another waiting couple) were ignored by the only employee we saw. We left and never will return. Outstanding! We had a group from work go for dinner, about 40 people. The server was wonderful and the food was too. I got a side salad and the lobster bisque! Wow that was great especially when the server add the creamed sherry. For entree I ordered the shrimp and scalloped risotto. It was great. We drive to Plattsburgh a couple times a year and usually have eaten at the same familiar places. However this time I suggested we try Anthony's for lunch. We were not disappointed! Our server was neatly attired in a smart black and white outfit; she promptly brought our beverages and a basket of delicious warm crusty bread with fresh butter. We had arrived early at 11:30 a.m. and there was only one other table with diners; but within the next hour the bistro area had filled up with many more people. My selection was the grilled eggplant sandwich and it was excellent but a little messy to eat - it filled me up because I had eaten most of the bread in the bread basket. Dessert was out of this world! Offered was a Cheese Cake Mousse with a raspberry coulis - served warm. Our service, meal and surroundings were delightful and we will definitely return to this warm and inviting hideaway. read more

Where do I start? We made last minute reservations on a Saturday night. The man who answered the phone said they couldn't take 3 of us at 7:15, but could at 8, kind of late for us. He immediately suggested the bistro/bar side which is first come first served. We arrived at 7:15 and he immediately sat us at a table in the bistro. Now for the food and service. I was in the restaurant business for 20 years, I know great service and great food. This was the best we have ever had bar none. Our friend from England had roasted duck breast with an apple maple glaze, excellent! My wife had an appetizer shrimp and sea scallops with pickled onions, excellent. I had shrimp and sea scallops risotto on a bed of fresh spinach, excellent. We all had dessert, tiramisu, creme brulee and homemade pecan pie, all excellent. Trish our waitress was the most accommodating and pleasant. On the way out met the owner /chef Scott, we congratulated him on everything. Told him we would be back for sure. We came when there was live jazz pianist. It was AMAZING. I initially looked at the menu and thought "Well nada for a vegan". It looked so good for the rest of our party that I called ahead. They told me that they are happy to accomodate and oh my goodnes the food was scrumptious. The vegetables were marinated in a wine sauce. The wine was excellent. I had a seasonal local peach and blueberry pie that was perfect. Easy to taste the real homemade thing. MY husband and son had the steak tips with a bearnaise sauce. My hubby is French and he was convinced the chef was too! It's really close to the Hampton Inns and Suites in Platsburg that was a plus too. read more
