We ordered a large salad that came with bread and butter. Very soft fluffy Italian bread. The spaghetti with meat sauce ease was quite a lot of meat sauce. Very generous with meat and sausage meat. One of us ordered a side of meatballs and those were quite large. The chicken parmigiana was tender. And also smoke. Everything was reasonably priced and we all needed a doggy gag. The Yelp reviews for Nonna Lisa's Kitchen were a main factor in deciding to come here for dinner (we live in MI and were on vacation). I was excited to try this place with the reviews but was a little apprehensive when we pulled up - small strip mall that has seen better days but we were hungry and figured we would give it a shot. The interior is cute -- but small. Not many tables but thankfully we were on the early side for dinner so only one other table was occupied when we arrived. We quickly decided what we wanted to eat and placed our order. Our salads came out fast and they were very delicious. I am a sucker for black olives so was thrilled to see them on the salad. I noticed that the other table (a couple) were still waiting for their meal and it showed up a short time later. A few more tables were seated and we were still waiting for our meal. It became evident that there was one server and one cook. When our meal showed up, we were not disappointed. The sauce on my chicken parm was savory with just a hint of sweetness. And it had chunks of tomatoes in it - huge plus for this tomato loving gal! I don't know where they got this chicken breast but it was huge! It was very well seasoned and probably one of the best chicken parms I've ever had in my life! For dessert, my hubby decided to get the cannoli dip. I'm bummed that I cannot eat dairy cuz that dessert was massive! My husband barely put a dent in it and took the rest home for a snack later on that evening. The italian bread was so fluffy and tasted very fresh. The salad was large for a side salad although the dressing was nothing special. The seafood alfredo was good - cheesy and rich, but the sauce was a little less thick than I usually prefer and the scallops were very small. Overall it was a good meal. Not a good experience from start to finish! To start off I called to place a take out order at 6:45. I was told by the rude women who answered to hold for a minute. I was left in hold for 10 minutes and the entire time I could hear the conversations the women was having with other employees. They were laughing and talking about non work related topics. So basically I was holding so the workers could socialize. Very unprofessional!!! So I hung up after 10 minutes and called back. Told the same women I wanted to place my take out order, she was so nasty at this point. So I ordered two dinners and one app, was told it would be an hour. Ok no big deal. So when we tried the food it basically just wasn't very good for the most part. My husband's Alfredo was so watery it was like soup. Basically tasted like garlic milk. Not good. My chicken francase was undercooked so I couldn't eat it because I didn't want to get sick. The side salad and garlic bread were the only decent parts of the meal. The part I was so angry about was when I looked at my receipt I noticed they had added a lot of ridiculous charges!!! The garlic cheese bread was on the menu as $6 and I was charged $7, the chicken Frances's was on the menu as $17 and I was charged $22!!!! Next there was a pasta charge of $2.50 which I never ordered or received an extra pasta, also there was a completely crazy charge of $5.50 for using a debit card! Was never told that would occur by the rude lady on the phone or we would have paid cash!!!! This place basically ripped me off an extra $14 with all their bs!! I have had multiple positive dining experiences at Nonna Lisa's Kitchen over the last year. Recently I brought a group of 20 people for a celebration. The restaurant and bathrooms are spotlessly clean. The decor has been thoughtfully created and this makes a great choice for date nights or family night out. Jill the waitress was good to us. I recommend making a reservation in advance and asking for a table in the back dining room. The food is the focus here. Every dish I have had here is a hit. Particularly perfect and unique is the bruschetta with mascarpone appetizer. If you like eggplant Parmesan, you have to try Nonna Lisa's version of it. She hits it out of the park. The meal was very good. However, I ordered the pasta meal with hot sausage,peppers. I thought tomato sauce/fettuccine Alfredo was a misprint and asked for angel hair pasta rather than fettuccine. Well, it wasn't My meal came with a little bit of tomato sauce and angel hair pasta floating in Alfredo sauce. My mistake by not asking and in fairness mixing the leftover two sauces together made it more tolerable. Lesson learned read more

Lasagna is my all time favorite dish so I'll try it anywhere where it's supposedly good. I had to go back twice to Nonna Lisa's for the lasagna just to make sure it really was that good- and I was not disappointed. I also had the baked ziti which somehow was even better than the lasagna. I tried a meatball as an appetizer; and it was delicious. The restaurant is small and unassuming, but quaint with a nice ambiance. The service was fantastic. This place is definitely 5 stars!! Don't even hesitate- go and thank me later! We had a wonderful experience at Nonnalisas and I highly recommend it. I'm Italian so I recognize home cooked meals when I have them and these are home cooked and fantastic! I had the chicken parm and I could hear Lisa in the back pounding out my chicken so it would be nice and tender and fresh (which it was). It was a very large piece (so big that it also fed me another full meal the next day) for a very reasonable price. My husband's lasagna was equally large and delicious. I'm usually not a dessert person but I needed to try one from here because I knew it would be delicious and it was! I had the chocolate cannoli cake and it was to die for. Huge, chocolatey, hints of almond, fabulous cannoli center. Oh I could eat that cake every day and be a happy person. The decor is simple and the space is on the small side in a strip mall. After reading a few online reviews, Im reluctant to leave my opinion as it wont be long before Plattsburgh's best kept secret will become public knowledge, in turn flooding this quaint lil kitchen. Last night under cover we lucky enough to slip in-between reservations and ordered yet another item from the menu (our goal is to try each item on the menu, were up to 11). Well, once again, we were not dissapointed! To the point, every meal here is cooked from the heart like you would do for your mother, enjoy the experiance or go back to your favorite Michigan stand drive thru because you obviously don't recognize authentic Italian cousine. Seasonings and flavors are on point, if you need more, consider picking up the salt and pepper on the table in front of you or visiting your favorite Italian Food Bar at your local super market. If you think the food is over or undercooked, consider that you are not a Chef Ramsey and lack the skills needed to decifer between hand made pasta and sauce from that in the box and jar you pick up while getting gas on the way home from work. Or, maybe you could respectfully give feedback to the waitress and try another dish (oh the use of common sence). Tender and cooked to perfection, you can eat everything on the menu with only a spoon. If you can't cut the food, you should head to the gym or go back to eating from a jar also well known as Gerber. In light of it all, if you have a special request (gluten free) the chef will come out and cater to your needs. This resturant treats you like family, not just another customer. What you get on a plate is love and nobody there is a mind reader meaning, if you need more sauce ask, or spring is only around the corner to plant your own garden and start canning! I ordered through Uber Eats, and I was amazed!!!! Its a genuine authentic deep red sauce, I ordered the Chicken Parmesan, the chicken was huge! It was tender and juicy. We called a day or two ahead and made reservations, it was for a family birthday dinner. The person i spoke to on the phone was very friendly and helpful. We were a party of 5 + baby. We were not greeted i wasn't sure the waitress was our waitress bc she literally just watched us walk in and sit at our reserved table. Then she said from behind the bar, not even at table side, "Do you want anything"? (While we waited for the rest of our party) we placed our orders for dinner and appetizers. There was at least one other table in the restaurant possibly 2 but no more than that. We wait 30+ minutes for appetizers, then waited another (at least) 35 minutes for dinner (2 ppl had time to play an entire game of Chess). 3 out of 5 of us liked our dinners, 2 did not like theirs at all. A horrible experience. We wanted to order four dishes. They didn't answer their phone, so we drove over. When we arrived the hostess(?)/owner(?) told us in an extremely rude way that they would not take our order. They had a large party arriving in about 45 minutes and they were too busy. The restaurant was less than half full. My friend asked why they had not answered their phone. The answer: we've been very busy. As a former restaurant cook, I can say there's no excuse for the rudeness, the unwillingness to take an order, not picking up the phone or leaving a message saying they won't be taking reservations or doing takeout. We were a family of 6 and I think we all ordered a different entre, ranging from my Chicken/Broccoli Alfredo to Scrimp Scampi, Lasagna ,Chicken Parmesan, Baked Ziti and House Salads entrees included a bread basket. Very few times have I written a review for a restaurant, cause let's be honest most are mediocre at best. First the ingredients presented on the menu are fresh, just like you would prepare at home for your family. Not prepackaged, and you can tell. The attention to detail was impeccable. Guys might not notice but ladies, the plates had nice designs ,cute summer lemon napkins , even the silverware and glasses are nice designs. The attention to details in this place was noticed, not only in the settings but service as well. This restaurant is ran by family and your treated as a guest would be treated at there home. This place is a hidden gem. Plattsburgh, you have an excellent Italian restaurant in your midst. It's tucked away in the back of the shopping center where the Big Lots is. The food and service were exceptional. My wife and I ordered The Godfather which is very much like sausage and peppers but much better. The noodles weren't just plain noodles. They were made with a hand crafted fettucinni sauce. The marinara side of the dish not only had the typical green peppers but red and orange too. Helped make this dish extremely well presented and tasty. To complete the meal we had a canolli. Also excellent. Can't leave out the service which was excellent as well. The only drawback was it's cash only for orders under $100. But, they do have an ATM should it be needed. Really wanted to have a great experience with this place seeming as its lowest review is 4 stars. I ordered through Uber eats and waited the estimated 50 minutes before leaving to pick it up. When I arrived, i stood and waited for a few minutes before being told by the waitress that she'd be with me shortly. I waited about 10 minutes, but still hadn't had her speak with me. One of the cooks came out and told me my order would be out shortly, so they knew I was the to go order. The waitress then again said it would be out shortly and that it was just being put into containers. I stood and waited another 10 minutes after that and then finally had received my order. I expected the food to be pretty good and had hoped it would be since I had stood and waited 20 extra minutes for it to be done. Sadly, that was not the answer. I had gotten fettuccine Alfredo and it was not at all good. The sauce was almost soupy and not that hot and just generally did not taste good. I had very high hopes for this since I had seen such great reviews. I will try to give it another try but just maybe not to go.
