We cannot provide any sort of review for the quality of service offered by Anthony's, because they never showed up! We were left stranded in Niland with two dead batteries in our truck. We had to drive to Colorado in three days. After two phone calls and various texts, the guy I spoke to assured me he would be here in the morning, no later than Noon, with two new batteries. He quoted $385 EACH for two Interstate 3-year warranty batteries, plus $150 travel time. We had no way to get anywhere to buy some batteries, so I reluctantly agreed. By 3:00pm the next day, still no word. With our schedule, I needed to know if he was coming or not. I never got an answer. I'm glad he never showed up. I was eventually able to get the truck charged up overnight, and made it to Costco in Indio. I bought two 3-year warranty Interstate batteries for the less than $250 (TOTAL), and replaced them in the parking lot. I'm very grateful we were not stranded on the side of the road waiting for Anthony's. If you're going to overextend yourself, at least be honest with your potential customers about your availability. Didn't have any traditional payment methods like a normal honest business entity would have; wanted me to send money via Wal-mart. He scammed me out of $5k, then thought I was going to pay him even more before I finally had my rig towed out of there after being there for 7 months. And he was mad about that! Said he did work on it, but when I finally got my rig back I found that he didn't do anything. California is not an easy state to file small claims court cases, nor can I hardly find these people's details online. They have no real addresses to be found. EXCELLENT! We had a very scary incident where we lost a wheel off of our travel trailer while returning from a camping trip in the area. A Sunday morning, in Indio, CA. We got safely off the highway and called Diesel and RV Service (Formerly Anthony's Truck and RV) at 760-396-7660. Anthony picked up the call immediately. He had me send pictures of the wheel hub and axle. He directed us to a nearby truck stop for safety. He diagnosed, went for parts and got to us pretty quickly, just about 1 1/2 hours, as promised. His diagnosis was spot on! He jacked that sucker up, whipped off the broken parts, showed us exactly what had happened, put on the new parts, put on our spare and gave us some GREAT safety advice for preventing this, and other problems in the future. The positive reviews are either all or mostly fake!! They are of his girlfriends and himself and family members. Do your homework, it's not hard to find out for yourself. (Ortiz-Lopez-He is Familia music Entertainment etc) The owner, Anthony Ortiz, was a nightmare to deal with. GO ANYWHERE ELSE! He picked our GMC 6500 up from The desert international show park in Thermal CA First, he is not a 24 hour service business. After a week and a half of him not completing the work, I told him that he needed to work through the weekend then because he had already had our vehicle over a week and a half and we had to leave Sunday night. He then stated to me that he does not work on weekends because he wants to spend time with his family, we depended on him to be done on time. We were clear about that, repeatedly. He manipulates and fast talks you into not giving you an actual quote and continues this throughout the whole process. He quoted us approximately $2600 to replace a clutch, yet he did not provide us with a written quote. He said he would have it ready five days later on the following Friday, but he didn't. (We had to repeatedly call and message him to reach him through the whole 2 weeks.) He also didn't have it ready on the following Tuesday or the following Friday after that. He changed his timeline 4 times! Knowing full well that we were stuck and stranded with a horse without our truck. He claimed it was because he received the wrong part because we didn't tell him it was Canadian, We told him repeatedly that it was AND the speedometer is in kilometers per hour and he drove it a half an hour to his personal residence where he kept it for two straight weeks. We gave him $1000 cash in the beginning and in the end he charged us almost $3700. When we called him on it, he turned into a bully and threatened. He overcharged because he is a THEIF. This was extortion because he knew we were desperate and he knows he can get away with it. He charged us $1700 for the clutch kit when it can be found everywhere else for less than $400. Which we showed the officer when we finally got him to release the vehicle to us at roughly 9 o'clock at night. The officer was not impressed with him. We had to involved the police twice (The first set of officers said they have had many run-ins with him) after claiming he took checks and cash, he refused to take our check and forced us to borrow cash from others because it was a holiday. We started to drive back to give him the cash an hour after the police had gone with us and he literally was driving on the other side of the highway away from his house. He was obviously trying to to hide the vehicle from us because he was offended that I called him out on his really unprofessional Actions and behavior. He had our vehicle for 2+ weeks and was supposed to do multiple engine repairs: engine seals brake fluid, oil change and clutch service and kept claiming he couldn't get the parts. Totally untrue because I called multiple other shops who said they could get the part immediately and for $1400 cheaper than Anthony and also tried myself and I could've gotten them quicker. He did not complete the other repairs. I am a 23 year Air Force veteran and can honestly say that no one should ever use this business, he has no integrity. Made racist and sexist comments towards my wife when she called him out on his Unprofessional actions. Verbally Abusive and threatening towards her. Not 24 hours. Doesn't work weekends either. Dragged the repair out at the end when he knew we were desperate to leave. After stating he took checks and cash, he demanded cash only and on a holiday when banks were closed. If you are stranded anywhere near Anthony he IS the man to call! Our RV brakes overheated and disintegrated 15 miles from Stagecoach at 11:30pm in Indio. My daughters thought the weekend was ruined but we looked up 24 hour RV services and Anthony was the only one who answered! We told him our situation and he told us to get towed somewhere safe, as we broke down in the middle of the Circle K driveway after filling up with gas. BTW thanks to all you horn honkers.. I really wasn't parked blocking the drive way because I wanted too!! Anyways Anthony said he was going to come down and check on us girls on his way home and when we were not where we were supposed to be towed due to the RV would not roll he found us at Circle K introduced himself then spoke to the tow truck drivers, once we were able to move Anthony said he'd be back bright and early to get us on the way to our Stagecoach weekend and he was! At 7:30 am he showed up took the broken parts( whole brake assembly and hub) he went to find the new parts and came back with everything by 12:30 pm . He worked in 100 degree weather and worked twice as fast as most mechanics to get us on the road. He even double checked other things to make sure we would have a safe weekend! He was more than fair and a very nice and personable person! He takes pride in his work and saved our yearly Mom and Daughters vacation! We can't thank him enough! Ok so here's MY deal. I have a 2013 ram 3500, I initially had it at competition tire & wheel, originally just needed a new turbo, after 7 WEEKS I got a new turbo (which is TERRIBLE), however this review is to talk about ANTHONY, (the diesel SAVIOR!!!) after the 7 weeks I got my truck transported to Anthony, didn't even meet the gentleman, just had the truck towed there. Ended up finding out the FIRST place blew my engine up by trying to drive it, not to mention they CLAIMED that they're a "diesel specialist", so DONT GO TO COMPETITION TIRE & wheel!! WHATEVER vehicle you have, if you're stranded, OR just need your vehicle fixed the RIGHT way the FIRST time, do yourself a favor and hit up Anthony, the dude has excellent customer service, he WILL always keep you up to date as to what's SPECIFICALLY going on with your vehicle. Anthony renewed my faith in people here in the desert, MOST you deal with will tell you they can do the job JUST to get your biz, but REALISTICALLY don't know anything about the vehicle and HOW to diagnose the problem. Anthony, sincerely thank you for the outstanding work on my truck, just so y'all know, Anthony took 1.5 weeks to swap my engine out AND to reinstall my turbo. ALSO had he not realized that my turbo MIGHT'VE had some metal in the turbo (which would've blown the brand new turbo) then i would've had to pay yet another 3800$ for a new one, turbo shop said "it's a good thing your mechanic suggested to bring the turbo back because the turbo would've blown", so once again Anthony, brotha, thank you to the HIGHEST extent EVER, took a total of 9 weeks!
