For the record, I am a guy... My girlfriend loves going to the Anthropologie at The Domain any time she's in town. She is always is in love with the selection of clothes and always finds something she wants from a cute dress to a set of headbands. As a guy, I go wow this is expensive stuff, but I am also a guy, so I don't understand Women's fashion. Dropping the ball! Spent several hours in the store today trying to find a birthday present. Observed that while beautiful and of solid quality, most dresses are made for women 5 foot 10 and up while most customers were 5 foot 6 and shorter. The brand does make petite sizes but carries none in store and sends its disappointed customer base online, leaving most disappointed and shopping next door. You don't need to lead CI like myself to recognize the lost revenue and brand damage for an otherwise solid brand here. read more

Michelle from the dressing room area was great with the assistance in helping to locate the perfect fit for you in your choices. Ms. Adrine' the store cashier was excellent at being a sweet positive person with a great smile upon your check out. Nowadays there are struggles that people are going through and a country that is sometimes in turmoil but coming here to this location that all gets left at the front door before you enter because once in all the customer service ladies are wonderful and warm. Not to be confused with Ant-apology, which is when you accidentally step on some ants and then apologize to the surviving ones for inadvertently killing their friends. Life is cruel. This is a very expensive store with some nice trendy clothing, and it's not bad to hang out here and do some shopping. Had a terrible experience with two employees at this location. One being an African American employee with dyed hair and the other being a Caucasian employee with shorter dark hair. I was looking for a navy top in a size medium and when I asked the employee she very sternly assured me they only had a size L left and what they have on the floor is all the inventory they have in that top. I brushed it off and kept browsing the store. On my way out I noticed that same navy top on a mannequin. I politely asked a different employee if she knew what size the top was on the mannequin, to which she said size M. I asked her if she was able to take it off the mannequin for purchase and she said "No, our VM's are very strict and will tell us NO" I replied "that's weird" to which she said "Actually it's not, it's corporate policy", she walked away and laughed with her coworker. I wonder if it's also policy for them to talk back to customers... Very disappointed with the way they reacted. I was just at Aritzia prior to going to Anthropology and they gladly removed a clothing item off of a mannequin for me to try on. I can understand how stressful it has been with back to school but c'mon, there is no need for catty behavior towards customers. Taking my business elsewhere. read more

My best friend and I shopped here on Wednesday, 7/12, and loved every second. Every employee we encountered was so helpful and sweet. We even stopped by for a second round on our way back to the car, I loved the pregnant gal that rang me up. She had me laughing as we chatted about twilight. Such a pleasant shopping experience. This is my very favorite place to buy gifts (and for people to buy gifts for me!). My favorite dresses in my closet come from Anthropologie. They tend to be on the pricy side, so always check out the sale rack. I just picked out a fab summer dress in the sale room for $79. I also bought a really great lightweight cardigan (not that I can wear it right now in Texas). The only downside (or upside, for some) is that I think all of the Hollywood wardrobe stylists shop at Anthropologie for teenage girls, as I saw one of my favorite dresses on Glee and my new cardigan on Modern Family. I guess that's cool if you are under 21, but being on the upside of thirty, not so much. I will still happily wear these items, though! As far as home goods. I love using my brightly colored ceramic bowls for ice cream, and having the shabby chic hand towels on display in my kitchen. And the smell of this store just makes me happy! read more

This place I swear is the devils playground. Everytime I come in here, I walk out with a happy face and a sad wallet. Its funny because I pass by this place ALL the time going to Steeping Room or Starbucks and I have always missed it. One day, after a cold delicious tea from Steeping Room, my friend took me here. This is when my love and hate relationship with Anthropologie begin. Every time I walk in, the place smells of some sort of potpourri. I go straight to the sale racks in the back to see what goodies are on special. They coordinate their clothes by COLOR!! The staff is friendly and oh so fashionably dressed. I wish I could dress or pull off the outfits they have on! They'll ask if you need help, but wont overwhelm you as some blood leeching sales staff can be. My sizing is kind of weird here so that means I always have a handful of clothes, sometimes two of the same shirts in different sizes to try on. The dressing room staff is nice enough and doesn't give me the evil eye when I come in with a ton of clothes or limit me to 6 items (whats the deal with that anyways at some places?!). The material on the clothing is pretty much what gets me to come back all the time. Its very soft and durable. This location in my opinion has better selection then the one downtown, plus its less crowded. See you in another month once my bank account is back up! read more

Where to start, Anthro as we refer to it, is amazing. When you arrive go directly to the sales room and cruise the sales racks. Keep in mind the sales rooms are a tad cramped and busy. I think they do this so you will want to leave and go back to the wide open store, dont. They have great sales. I have purchased wonderful items there for considerably less then they retailed for just weeks or a month or so earlier. After you visit the sale room, peruse the rest of the store for items that you may be willing to pay full price for but be cautious. Full price at Anthropologie can be steep. Quality is very good to high and the items are unique beautiful pieces. The staff is usually helpful and the store offers a yellow store card that will track your purchases. If you loose your receipt they can check your store card(Just make sure to have the card scanned when you make your puchase). read more

Went today and was in the store for about 30-45 min and was ignored and did not get help at all but every single WHITE customer was doted on and asked if they needed help. Extremely disappointed in the service there. It's very obvious when 5 employees see you and instead only help out white customers. Until recently, I hadn't gotten the memo that there was an Anthropologie in the Domain. My friends are officially fired. But I am full of forgiveness, which is why a buddy and I skipped over following a very happy happy hour nearby. We literally skipped, so merry were we. Looking through all their cute monogrammed cups, aprons, and knicknacks, I told my friend that Anthropologie, in all it's kitchy glory, could be her house. I got a hug and an I love you for my assessment. That's the kind of vibe they've got going on here. There is so much Christmas gift potential in this joint. The level of fabulousness is barely tolerable - until you check out a price tag or two. Then you'll come right back to earth. Unless... I hit up the backroom, where the sales clothes are. I found a skirt not built for prepubescent boys - even accounting for a curve or two. This is no small miracle. It was under $20, and that's all that I will say about that. July 2011: Return to Anthro to see my dress is missing! Wait, it has only been moved...to the sales room! Check the price tag again: $79. Size up number of dresses, look at bank account, and decide to press my luck until my next paycheck. August 2011: Knock over fancy ladies on tax-free weekend to get the last size of my dress. Price? $39. ULTIMATE VICTORY! This must be how people feel when they catch a prized fish...or something. I am considering mounting my receipt and hanging it over the fireplace I wish I had. I was hesitant to start shopping at Anthropologie as I was terrified of the steep prices, but with due diligence and some buzzard-style circling of the sales racks, you can always find some really high quality clothes or housewares for a great price. Anything I wear from there always gets compliments. And as previously mentioned, it is an amazing place to buy unique gifts for any of the females in your life. Anthropologie is a large ladies' clothing boutique with high ceilings and high prices. The clothing is mostly interesting and sometimes unusual, which adds some wardrobe variety. This store has a little more aisle space and cute household gift-worthy items than the downtown store, but essentially it's the same. Everyone hits the tiny sale room in the back at first arrival, and that includes me. I've found some deals there, but I've also been unable to resist several full-priced items out on the floor. If you haven't seen the "Going, Going, Gone" rack in the dressing room, you might want to check it out as well. That's where they put some clothes that were ordered online and returned to the store, or the last couple of items on the rack, and they're sometimes discounted as well. The sales staff in the dressing room offers personalized service and will check on you and give you clothing advice if you ask. Some staff are better than others at this, but they're all better at it (and more patient) than some of my family members. There's a nearby seat for those family members, but speaking from experience, they may decide to wander out and explore other stores anyway. The return policy is fairly liberal, because they don't have a specific deadline. If you have them email you a receipt, they'll always keep it in their system in case you have a problem with the clothing later on. read more

I keep calling this "faux-hippie". It's a shop selling a bohemian look at upscale prices. I don't get it. Then again, I'm not female. What I can say is that my girlfriend loves this place. I can also say that it's a comfortable place to stand around in and look at things. They've got nice comfy chairs in the back I can lounge in and play Angry Birds while my girlfriend picks out whatever it is she's going to buy. If I'm bored of that, there's a bunch of books and knick knacks to paw over, and there's usually something interesting. And though I'd never admit it to my girlfriend, there's plenty of eye candy just walking around the store. So, not a bad place to spend a little time. From my perspective, it's a win. The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because although they keep my girlfriend looking fabulous, I definitely feel it in the pocketbook. read more

Snagged a Miss Albright tote for $39, what are the odds? I can fit three small children and 2 large melons in this thing, it's going to the next film crammed with candy! That is the practical aspect of shopping this place. My favorite store is still in Houston but on this particular day it was cold out and the staff were warm and lonely. Sale room had been picked over, but the handbags were in rare form. Pricey place to part with your disposable income, how fun it is, best to look at EBay prior to walking in the door as the markup here is more than triple key. Parking tight, staff helpful, easy to maneuver, placement of merchandise meets my eye level, it's a delight to meander here--always a place for your SO to recline. Hope you've got a big wallet, because Anthropologie is one of those stores full of beautiful things at big prices. It is truly one of my favorite places for pretty dresses and tops that aren't boring and basic. The staff is usually amazing. In fact, on my recent trip I was shopping for a few tops, told the salesperson helping me about what I was looking for and when I finally made it into the dressing room, I found several extra pieces and accessories waiting for me. I fell in love with a particular dress and was amazing when I added the belt she left in the room. As someone who is not the best at accessorizing, these folks have got you covered! Now, normally I would give a 5-star review, but one of the tops I bought had a hole in it. I didn't notice until I got home. When I brought it in to exchange, which was no problem as I had the receipt, they were out of the top. The woman behind the counter offered to order a replacement for me, which I gladly accepted. This would've been fine and dandy, but it seems the Lamar store had the shirt in stock. And instead of them ordering it and handling the return, as I would've expected, I was instructed to call the Lamar store to ensure they had it in stock and arrange for the replacement shirt myself. They credited back the original shirt and I was left frustrated that a flaw in their product resulted in my having to jump through hoops to pick up. I still highly recommend Anthropologie. Definitely stalk items until they go on sale, because they do markup the clothing quite a bit. Then again, some of the clothing is so great and worth full price (and most likely will never make the sale racks.) read more

Too expensive for the quality. My wife ordered me this really thin and light weight jacket( it's really more of a sweater) last Christmas. I have worn it maybe a handful of times before the wool started those lovely little cluster balls underneath my arm. Which made it look really used, then about a month later I noticed a small hole in the seam. I know this can be fixed but for a $200 light weight sweater I would expect more. I have bought several pieces from here and the quality isn't that great for the price. The staff is mediocre, usually they're cleaning or talking to each other to really help. 1 star- It's large, easy to shop and very clean! 2 stars- They also sell Voluspa candles so I added another star for that! They do have a huge home section which I love and that is another plus! read more

Found a dress here that was regularly $180 on sale for $40! This dress was simple so i decided to find a belt with some color to really make it pop. One of the girls working noticed i was looking at the belts and asked if i would like any help. I went ahead and told her and she sprung into action! I told her the things i like and what don't like and she handed me 5 or 6 belts that she thought would go well with the dress and also my style. I was happy to find a beautiful orange belt that goes great with the dress. She also made other suggestions on different things i may like. She really went above and beyond for me. I went to the Anthropologie local to me in search of a specific dress in my size. Unfortunately they were sold out, and it was sold out online as well. The manager said she would put a call out to different stores to try to locate one. The other day I received a phone call from Ronnie with Anthro at this location. He was extremely kind, helpful, and professional. He said I would receive the dress within the next few days. I did. Along with it was enclosed a note which read: "Dear Catherine, It was a pleasure locating this dress for you! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!! Sincerely, Ronnie @ the Domain" He didn't have to go to the trouble of writing me a note, and yet the fact that he did, goes to show just how much they care about their customers! It was indeed a much appreciated gesture! I used to live in Austin up until a few months ago and actually shopped this location all the time. If I were still in Austin, I would continue you to! tl;dr - A customer service rep ARGUED with me and their kitchen timers don't work. You would think that for the premium price, you would get premium service and products. I visited the Anthropologie yesterday evening, Feb. 18, 2015 located at the Domain located at 11410 Century Oaks Terrace in Austin, TX 78758. Unfortunately, I had a terrible experience with one of your customer service representatives and also with one of your products. My boyfriend gave me the mint green kitchen timer magnet for Christmas. After about a month of working perfectly, the timer broke. I went into the Anthro store and they gladly replaced it with a new one. They also changed my email associated with my Anthro card. Unfortunately, as I had not tested it I got the new one home and discovered that it also did not work. When I went back to the store, I met a very helpful woman who helped me return my old timer. This time, I tested all of the timers and found that ONLY ONE of the bucket of around 20 timers actually went off. I spent around 20 minutes testing these timers and also shopping around. When I got ready to leave, the original woman helping me had been called to the back, so someone else was checking me out. She had short brown hair and a small frame. I told her about the thing that went on with the timers. She proceeded to tell me that the timers just had a faint ring. I said that I had been standing right next to them and I couldn't hear them. She then proceeded to ARGUE with me, then finally told me that they were just meant for DECORATION. I finally said that I didn't even want the working timer and I would settle for the other things that I was going to purchase in exchange for my old timer. She then asked me if my email was still the same. I said they had changed it earlier that day, but when she showed me the address, it wasn't correct. I said that the system probably still hadn't updated and SHE AGAIN ARGUED WITH ME. She said that may be the case, but the email address I gave her was probably just used to email me the receipt and not change my anthro address. I tried to explain to her that the woman earlier had explicitly said that she was changing my anthro email NOT the receipt email, but this girl would hear nothing of it. At this point, I was so angry and frustrated that I just took my things and left. read more

This store has great merchandise but the sales people were very unfriendly and inattentive except for the woman in the dressing room area. I walked in with a return. I had no greeting. The girl doing the return had no personality. It seemed like an effort for her to have to take care of me. After making my return I was walking around with many items I wanted to try on. Nobody asked me if they could put the clothing in the dressing room for me or help me in anyway. There were around 3 people on the floor and nobody even acknowledged me. When I went to the dressing room the girl was very nice and helpful and friendly. I asked her if there was a manager in the store. She said there were a couple on the floor. I didn't want to tell them how unfriendly they were. I have shopped at many anthropology's and the salespeople always greet me , asked if I needed help, take my things I'm holding and offer to put them in a dressing room etc. I usually shop at the store downtown on Lamar and they are very nice over there. I'd like this store a lot more if they prices weren't high. They do have nice thing. they are a bohemian style kinda like from the 70's. They have wonderful bedding. The quilts are so beautiful. I like the clothes and all the stores sell, but the girls who work here really need to stop treating people like they are thieves! I don't shop here regularly. every now and then walk in and find a great deal and purchase a bag load of goods. These last two times, the register person forgot to remove my sensors on my clothes. After we left the store, no alarm went off, so that bag o' clothes went home and into my closet . I don't wear my clothes right away, but when I did pull something out and noticed the tag, I asked my husband to return to the store and remove them. They gave him a hard time and embarrassed him about it because we didn't bring the receipt back with with. Well, it was a month ago! I've lost the receipt by now! It was your store's fault for the alarm to not go off and for the sales girl for not taking off the security tag in the first place! Such unprofessional behavior. I am a self proclaimed Anthro addict. I live a block away from the downtown location, and even though it is larger and offers more merchandise, I usually make the trek to The Domain because of the calmness of the store (not as many patrons and as busy), but most importantly, for the staff. Jenna & Brandi (whom I believe are the managers there) are AMAZING. I absolutley love them! I shop their quite frequently, so they know my face, and are so sweet every time I come in. I have made exchanges that were from quite a long time ago and hard to find on my card (because I purchase so much, I often find things with tags or forget to return them), but those girls go out of their way to help me. Not only is Anthro amazing in their items and beyond every other store in creativity, design, beauty, quality, and display, but I seriously can not say enough good things about Jenna and Brandi Barnwell. Yes, the items are expensive, but you get what you pay for here. Not only in the product, but in the staff and return policies. Also, on a side note- the sales section can have treasures for cheap! I am talking $100 skirts for $20, or $250 dress for $100. And don't even get me started on the bedding and home decor.... It feels like heaven every time I step into this store. :) read more

I love Anthropologie, great items, great selection. Prices are high-ish, but you get what you pay for. I worked at a different Anthropologie for over a year, so I'm very familiar with the brand and their standards. That being said, the sales associates at this particular store could be a little friendlier (hence my rating). I know the company teaches their employees to be very friendly, helpful, and positive. I went shopping here 3days ago and spend almost over $500 on sale items and today I saw that they have additional 30% off on sale items so I called the store spoke with an employee and manager about price adjustment and they won't honor it even a one time courtesy,I haven't done any price adjustment because I wasn't aware of it until now. They will accept returns but not adjust the price, I mean it doesn't make sense, if I returned the sale items they will put it back on the sale rack and sell it to different customers with the additional 30% why they can't sell it to me with the discount. I'm so so so so so disappointed that , store like this you you expect will have great customer service since this store are not selling cheap stuff I'm so surprised that I will get this kind of treatment. Well If they don't want my business I am glad to take my business elsewhere. If I will spend this much money I would like to be treated right and fairly like everybody else a store that will go above and beyond. This is just wrong. Very very very disappointed. read more

I am a frequent shopper here, being that I work in the area. I have had nothing but great experiences over past two years made up of weekly Anthro trips. I am greeted or at least checked on every single time I come in. They always have someone available in the fitting room for any justification, opinions, or different styles and sizes you may need. I love how professional the employees are, and how personal my experience is every time I come in. The associates are quick to remember your name, style, and budget. For such a sales-driven company, I have never once felt pressured or annoyed. They always offer to find the product you're looking for online or at another location, and ship for free. The store is always immaculate and they get new arrivals frequently. The only improvement this location could use is more staffing at the registers. I've, more often than I would like, been left with enough time while waiting in line to put back things I would've bought otherwise. As for Anthropologie as a whole, some of their prices are ungodly. I have seen products as ridiculous as $100 toilet brushes. However, if you sign up for emails, you can get great deals during their additional % off sales. I have purchased items of clothing that are over $200, for under $50. Most lines they carry are very well-made, so I don't mind splurging every once in awhile. They stand by their merchandise and take pride in their service and appearance, which is ultimately what keeps me coming back. read more
