Just spent 20 minutes looking for an outfit to give as a gift and a sweater for myself. Two employees in the nearly empty store, neither of which could be bothered to say hello or can I help or even goodbye. Too busy on the phone? With each other? There was one customer they rang up together. No wonder it's dead inside when Athleta, Anthropology, Ever Eve, etc. have customers. Found a couple of things, but after not finding a size, I just left. Would rather spend money with a brand that cares about customers. Ordering online is abysmal, It's been 9 days since they debited my bank for the entire order. One thing shipped yesterday and they did not even update on when the rest of the order might ship. Don't order online if you have an event! read more

Was greeted politely by a tall young lady. She was obviously working on something. She looked up, said hello and asked me if I needed help. The store was neat and clean as are the dressing rooms. There was a top I had viewed online I was interested in. It fit perfectly. When I went to check out, another lady, in her 50's with dark hair rang me up. Her words were polite, her demeanor was not. She took the beautiful lace blouse and practically balled it up. I was stunned. And the. Proceeded to wrap it up like that in tissue paper. I was appalled. Whether you pay full or sale price, you don't do that. I asked for the lace top, and folded it. My husband has given me many gifts over the years from this store...it was very quiet as it was a holiday and a beautiful day outside..the shopping center as a whole was quiet while usually busy. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day. I had been polite. Who knows? read more

I'm going to also send a letter to the store about this specific sales person. I usually think the service here is decent, occasionally it's one or the other extreme, WAY too much attention or I am ignored while I shop after a greeting. I will say it is MUCH better than the service at the Tyson Corner store. At least these ladies acknowledge you and smile at you instead of rolling their eyes when you walk in or looking bored and tapping on their smart phones. I went into the Reston store about a month ago and this woman helped me-she was AMAZING. She asked me if I needed a dressing room, I said yes, I had one pair of pants with me, she put other things into the dressing room for me that she thought I would like, I only came in there for some pants and ended up leaving with pants, shirts and some shoes! I went in there a week ago and she remembered me and again picked out some suggestions for me. Her customer service is OUTSTANDING and her ability to mix and match things is great! Other salespeople should take note, especially the pushy one two months ago who kept asking me if I like this or that and shoving ugly sales stuff at me that I would never pick out-not picking up on my body signals that I wanted to shop in peace (having worked retail, I understand that they are required to give customer service, I get their names and tell them that I am just looking and will call them when I need help) and then when I actually needed her for a size she disapeered and gave all of her attention to this other woman who she probably thought was going to spend more than me. If you go to White House Black Market in Reston, look for the older black woman with the short hair. I can't recall her name, when I find it, I will post it here. For whatever reason I never shopped at this store before June. I stopped in after eyeing a great shirt in the window. Totally not my normal style, but I loved it. I went in to try it on and found SO much stuff! The sales staff was unbelievable helpful and friendly. They really know their inventory. I ended up falling in love with lots of items that I normally would not have picked. And they suggested about 4 looks that I would not have normally tried on. I returned again today just to look around, and again found Great Service. Olga was fantastic, friendly, and I recommend her to everyone. I exchanged information so that I could make an appointment with her the next time I go back, which when my husband sees the bags of stuff I brought home, sadly will not be for a while I am sure ;). But all the discounts really made it worth it! Make sure to sign up for their Black Book card, you can receive 5% off each item for every purchase over a certain amount. And it carries the coupons for you, so I was able to get 20% off the entire purchase and 5% each item. pretty good deal to me! I have been very impressed both times and would say that they Rival Nordstroms in service, product knowledge and quality of clothing. read more

Four stars for great service and well constructed pieces that all seem to match or coordinate with each other! After a year of increased shopping here, I feel I must upgrade my review of WHBM in order to capture the amazing, personalized customer service I have received from this boutique! I feel as if I have my own personal stylist here, as most of the employees (especially Kirstie) know me on sight, know my size of clothing and footwear, and select combinations of couture and accessories for me that I wouldn't even have thought to put together. I appreciate the polite honesty with which I am treated by WHBM staff, who have said things like, " this doesn't look like much on the rack, but would flatter your bustline and minimize your hips." Isn't that what every woman wants? Or "let me bring another top I think you'd like better, as it flatters long waisted ladies". There is always 5% off for black book members and when you sign up! you get $25 off $125 purchase or $50 off $250 seemingly every month. Also, these ladies are fantastic for unearthing a beautiful sale item in your size from the back at just the right moment! So, for fantastic service and for durable, well-constructed pieces with classic lines, I'm upgrading my former review to a full four stars!! read more

Today, I was greeted by Arezoo first, then Lisa White. (I don't have Arezoo's last name, sorry.) This was my second trip to the store in Reston Town Center this summer. I was extremely grateful to Lisa White who brought numerous choices to the dressing room and patiently returned to the shelves those items I was not interested in purchasing. I found gorgeous, capri jeans today 50% off. Lisa is a fabulous sales person. She has energy and exudes positive warmth. You can't help but feel happy about the sales but it's great when the atmosphere is positive and the service it superb. The first time I came into the store earlier this summer, Lisa was standing, smiling at the counter and right away I felt welcome. This time I experienced the same greeting. Arezoo was also helpful and greeted me with warmth. The whole shopping experience was great! Hats off to Lisa and Arezoo. Keep up the great effort. In all my 34 yrs of shopping and being in the beauty industry making others feel beautiful , I have never felt so beautiful than I did tonite in a retail store, i felt as if I was going to the Oscars with Kirsti, Kathy, and Dee as they helped me find a dress for my brothers wedding. I had the most unbelieveable experience at this store. I bought two blouses,same style, one in black and one in white. I purchased them on 8-17-2016. I was cleaning out my closet on 10-17-2016 and found a bag with the white blouse with tags and reciepts. I called the store to see if I could return or exchange the blouse. The cashier said to come in today because of the 60 day return policy. I went over to store and they told me I'm one day late and they can't do anything about the blouse. I have been living in this area for 30 years and I never had this kind of treatment. I would never again shop at this store. read more

All I can say is customer service has truly gone down with this store. I have been a black book member for over 12 years and slowly stopped buying clothes from her just because of the customer service or should I say lack there of. I guess I just look so young or with no money and that is why 4 associates walked by me yesterday in the store and not one person said hello to me or even acknowledged that I existed in the store. I was looking for an outfit for a party that day. But I didn't "look" like I have money so maybe that was it even though my husband is a doctor and has several offices. It's pretty bad when my husband has to go in with me and then we get noticed. I would have given this a half a star if I could. read more

This store is not that appealing for the younger working professional, bland clothing, some stuff even looked like it was for 50 yr old ladies. The moment I walked in I was ignored. The management was rude and only spoke to older women. Never going to walk in that store again. read more

Went shopping here with my Mom for her birthday. She had never shopped at a BHWM before and recently lost a substantial amount of weight, so she needed help finding the right cut and size. Ena was eager to help and brought countless different sizes to her dressing room. She recommend matching shoes and accessories all while providing an excellent level of customer service. She never made us feel uncomfortable or pressured into buying anything and thanked us upon checking out. I would highly recommend this location! read more
