It took them 20 mins to finally take the sensor off and I was so embarrassed. Also there is no bathroom in this store. I'm usually along for the ride, maybe sometimes with one of my Labradors on leash with me who are welcomed by the staff. Sometimes I'm even intrigued with the non-clothing inventory. I'll flip through a cook book, or handle some bar ware. But the reality is that neither she nor I often buy anything here. On our visit yesterday while looking at the fall clothing line-up I often remarked "Well this is a wear it once and then donate to Goodwill piece". The store ambience feels and the products on display reek of corporate slickness. Nothing has a home made by humans feel. I say that critically because that's the organic hip vibe that I feel Anthropologie is trying to grasp. Doesn't quite pull that off successfully. read more

This location of Anthropologie is at The Fountains in Roseville. It's a big beautiful store. Parking is tough on the weekends - come during the week to avoid the crowd. Really pretty shopping center. The Store is about in the middle of the main street. It's all decorated for the holidays. My review is based on my recent visit. I was inside the store about 30 minutes looking at everything and smelling, touching everything. Their store is a feast for the senses. Colorful and well styled. During my entire 30 minutes I was not asked if I needed assistance or greeted by any of the several employees. Towards the end of my stay I said hi to an employee and told her the area she was merchandising looked so pretty. And she acted annoyed with me. My review is three stars, averaged out between the selection of goods and the meh service. read more

I love to shop at Anthropologie but in Roseville the customer service is very bad. Long story short my order for Christmas gifts not arrived yet so I went asking if possible to return if I haven't received them on the 23 they are final sale items so I can something else. The associate said no you haven't received them you can't return then. I said I understand but can I? She said no cause final sale, so I ask to speak to their manager. Instead of listening what I have to ask. She told me I heard whats going on. I can accommodate you this, next time show courtesy to the associate. I didn't even angry or yell. Very unsettling event that happened this afternoon after going to find a dress for my anniversary. I went to the register and there were two women checking out and after one finished helping a customer she started to clean her Register area up, get some clothes and take them back to the dressing room. At that time I assumed maybe her shift was over and no worries. I'll just wait for the next representative to be done with the lady in front of me. After a few minutes, I noticed the same employee just stood in the dressing room talking to another associate. The one person at the register start it to look over to the two ladies bewildered at why her counterpart walked away. She call for someone to come help her out, and continued to help her customer while glancing over at the two young ladies that were just talking and not helping any customers. This is when it dawn on me and was a little odd because the two young ladies were chatting like they were on break and never responded. Not a big deal until I realize that this associate was choosing not to help me and blatantly disregarding me, micro aggression. Another associate came up to help and at that time the same associate that walked away to talk to her friend came back to Register and immediately started helping out another person that was behind me. It wasn't until the end of the transaction that I really realized that the associate was being very intentional around, not helping me. I can't put my finger on why this happen or why I was ignored but it was just a bad experience in that store. I did speak to the manager and she confirmed that she noticed it and was going to address it. I left out with a positive attitude, but I thought that anybody that decides to shop here should know that the customer service isn't so great with certain people. I'll be returning this $200 dress tomorrow because I just don't want to patronize a shop where I have bad customer experiences. read more

I had the worst experience ever in my life with the delivery of my order. Customer service is useless, helpless, providing no updates neither feedback, nothing at all. First the delivery was stuck on "being processed", almost a month, then "no product in stock", waiting, after all it was cancelled at all with no notice to a customer since it came out to be out of stock. Even the cashier, while I was paying did not say a word and had to just to put on a fake smile and looked annoyed, usually they would wrap the pieces of clothing you purchased in a nice tissue paper and gentle place in the bag. But nope, she didn't even fold and roughy threw it in the bag. I really love Anthro. It always looks amazing and is so fun to look through. But most of the staff at this location are super rude. I have been going here for years, and the staff were always friendly. But the last year or so, not at all. Whenever you ask a question or for help, it seems like I'm inconveniencing them or bothering them because they act annoyed. Most have a bad attitude and never help, you have to hunt them down for it.. They're honestly just rude and not pleasant at all, and it sucks because this store is so fun to shop in, so it can easily ruin it for me. (And annoying when you're paying a lot and can't get decent customer service or a smile even). I don't know about you, but I won't shop somewhere if it has snotty/ too good for you vibes, no matter how cute it is. Also, if you ask for an extra box, they act like they're giving up their left arm... Even though you always leave spending a ridiculous amount of money there because it's expensive (but great quality), so I don't get why asking for an extra box is such a problem, especially when usually I'm asking for an extra because it's a gift for someone? It happens almost every time.... I never leave lengthy reviews like this, but again, they were super rude to my sweet mother the other day just because she asked for an extra box (all her purchases were Christmas gifts) after spending a lot. The body language and attitude towards my mom was completely unnecessary. I'm tired of getting dirty looks or sarcasm when asking for A CARDBOARD BOX. One more thing to add, please update your hours online. I don't know how many times I've drove over because it says open, and it's closed because they changed their hours again but not online. Although the clothes are beautiful and worth the money. If I could give 0 stars I would... The customer service at this particular location is awful. I don't know if it's because the manager(s) allow the employees to treat the customers the way they do but I was truly humiliated from the first visit to the last. From now on I will only stick to shopping online and I will definitely make a complaint to their main company not there Since there's no point in speaking to the managers Maybe it's the overall attitude is due to the overall area they service and they resent that I am not sure. Let's start with the first day you could tell the lady that was supposed to be helping me was annoyed that I was there with my two children. She asked me what size I was and I told her a medium or large and so she went on to give me the dresses which I asked her for she told me I was not a small ( mind you after trying the dress on the small was too big). Then they refused to sell me a dress I kept going back for every two days because they kept extending their hold for a customer whom I'm guessing they were giving special treatment to bc she was a recurrent customer. I want to point out that they do have a policy for holds and you are only allowed to extend once. The dress was already on hold for two days the day I had asked for it and I must have called inquiring for this dress for a week straight and they kept extending the hold for this particular customer, which as I was told it was against company policy. It was all very bizarre and a bad experience not sure if it was because I am Hispanic or what the case was but I felt very uncomfortable. read more

Anthropologie has a great selection of clothing and home accents, but today's incident will prevents me from ever shopping with them again. This incident happened on October 27 at the Roseville location. I was serviced by "manager" with red hair and glasses. I had bought 8 door knobs here few months ago for my closet doors. I should have thought twice, they are glass but really cute zebra heads. When switching them out with my old ones TWO broke right away. I should have returned them all but loved them too much and went to exchange the two a few days later when I had time. Sadly since then it was only matter of time till another was going to break. They are not meant to be used I guess. Opening and closing closet doors loosened them all the time, until one shattered in my hand last night. Shattered into tiny pieces and first thing I did is clean and vacuum it up as I have crawling children at home. I drove to the store today to get absolutely shocked by the way it was handled. There was only one zebra knob left to purchase, I grabbed it and went to the cash register to see what they could do. She said without receipt or damaged item she could not do anything for me. A. A shattered knob, did you want me to carry in tiny pieces of glasses to the store to prove to you they broke? B. Item is $10, come up with a quick solution to keep a customer happy, but NO from a manager of a store was SOCKING. From a customer service perspective just wrong! When you have staff that is untrained to retain customers you will have lose customers. Exactly my case. I payed for a replacement knob and left in utter shock. When I asked to talk to a manager, she said she was the one! Wow, good luck Anthropologie Roseville this is the worst hiring decision you ever made, no smile, no solution, no respect for her customer or a problem I faced by purchasing poorly made product at your store. I spend thousands at Anthropologie a year, but NEVER again! Over a 10 dollar knob, way to go! It is so upsetting. Do you want to hear my definition of having "made it" financially? No? Well, I'll tell you anyway. It is being able to shop at Anthropologie without having to cringe at the price tags here. In fact I would not even have to check the prices, just buy what looks good. And I do love most of the stuff here quite easily. Oh yes, this shop would be five stars hands down if the merchandise priced itself for us working proletariat. However, it is not to be. Come here to be inspired and to take in the displays. Whoever does their merchandising is doing one helluva job. My pulse rate instantly calms down whenever I set foot in here. Maybe it's the candles burning throughout the store. I always shop at Anthropologie for their amazing scented candles (angel food being my favorite) and their quirky but unique bedding. Their clothes are a bit pricy for the fabric they use on some garments but they still look really nice. I never feel cheap shopping in their sales' section because, they always have a lot of really nice pieces back there (I once found a 100% silk dress originally $430, for $130!). The service lacks a bit in the dressing room area, and the fresh cookies and pastries don't help (who knows how long they've been out there, or how many were touched by someone's grubby kid); but, on the floor I'm surprisingly always being asked if I'm in need of help. If you're shopping for clothes here, make sure to check what fabric is used, that way you know whether or not you're being ripped off from their high prices. They carry a lot of 'Nicole Miller' dresses and if you keep your eye out, you might just find a really cute 'Rebecca Minkoff'! Hmmm. I wonder how good their closing procedures are. I have loved this store ever since I walked into their flagship store in Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, oh so many moons ago. I was on a business trip, and this store was a few minutes away from Market street...and I walked in and I was in love. And I have stayed in love all through the years, purchasing clothes, shoes, home accessories, gifts for staff, paging through their catalogs which look like art house books... The beauty of the clothing they carry? Like jewels, they are precious, seem so individual and eclectic...and no matter my size (which has ranged through the size spectrum over the years, pre- and post-kids!), I am always able to find something to fit me, which will also look divine. Anthro has inspired me to veer out of my comfort range in clothing...find my inner hippie, yet keep it professional enough for the corporate career I find myself in. And I never get rid of my Anthro clothing. Can't bring myself to do it. I recently walked into the local branch in Roseville and left with more jewels for my collection. I'm a long time Anthro fan, shopping mostly online because I don't have a retail store where I live. But when I'm near a physical store, I stop in to browse and always find so many fun, beautiful items of clothing, gifts, etc.. Today, though, I went in because I had a mini stockpile of returns from past online orders. Probably not the most enjoyable task a sales associate has to deal with in the middle of the Christmas rush. Well, Lolo was the lucky SA who had to help me with my complicated return request, which involved looking up skus, searching online through info and re-writing tags. She handled it like a pro. Powering through quickly while remaining polite and professional. Definitely Lolo is is an example of why I love shopping at Anthro! I also want to give a big compliment to Roz who gave great fashion advice, helping me pick out clothing that looked good and felt good on, all while making me feel like a million bucks! Love the unique finds here at Anthro! I've been shopping at this Anthro since it opened and it almost never disappoints. Their merchandise turns over very quickly so it's rare that you'll see somewhere wearing the same top or other clothing items. From dresses to tops to pants and jeans to loungewear, you're bound to find something you love. If you ever want help throwing a fun outfit together, ask for Roz - she's amazing! I strongly urge every woman to go to Anthropologie! This store screams girly, feminine and beautiful! If I was a rich woman (which I'm not), I would constantly buy items for my home here, clothing, bath accessories and so much more. This place is extremely expensive but so worth the visit. Once in a blue moon I will buy a sweater or dress here only if I saved up enough money to pay for it; clothing items are usually within triple digit numbers. You absolutely cannot go into this store without wanting to spend countless amounts of hours here; sorry men, this store is strictly for women; no items for men are featured here. I have been to several locations including the one in Philadelphia (my sister lives there), Carmel, Huntington Beach, San Jose, Santa Monica, Pasadena and of course in Roseville several times. The displays are GORGEOUS, clothing will bring out your extremely girlie side to you, everything in this store is amazing. The girls who work here are so nice and friendly and honest too when trying on clothes (but in a very sweet way). Went here tonight and the store was packed because (yay), they had a 30% sale off almost everything in the store. What I love are their decorative soaps; they usually cost about $8-10 for one bar soap not bad. I have a basket full of them in my bathroom. Their kitchen items are exceptional and pretty too with porcelain details and intricate designs with flowers and gorgeous colors. Meh. Every time I go to this store I always come out empty handed. The clothes are pretty but very pricey, only for those with a fat bank account can really spend money here. I only really come here just to browse and check the sale section. Their sale clothes are plentiful but none of them really interest me. My favorite section of this store is the kitchen section. The decor, aprons and dinnerware are beyond adorable. The customer service here has always been good for me, employees are friendly and they work fast at the cashier counters. One thing that I noticed about all Anthro stores is how beautifully they are all laid out. Very clean, spacious, lovely decor, nice lightning throughout, etc. I just like walking through here and just soak it all in. I doubt I'll ever spend a dime here unless they have a big clearance sale, though. But it's a lovely store. Was in it for 20 minutes, interfaced with at least 4 associates (dressing room, cashier area, and different zones of the store), and not once was I greeted with amicable attitude, acknowledgement, or courtesy. Can I live here? I'll sleep in the sale room amongst the scarves and shoes. Whenever I'm in Roseville, I want to pop in this store and pretend like I can afford it. I can't stay away, even though I despise the prices. The beautiful visual appeal has me walking around here wide-eyed and gawking like a child. Who is in charge of visual merchandising? I bow at their magnificent creativity. The staff has always been friendly, and so cutely dressed. I know they have to, but I like how they wrap my items in tissue paper like it's a gift. When I get home, its fun unwrapping them... but then I realize I spent my own money. Ah well. Despite the hodgepodge of items they carry, this store is always clean, well lit, and a delightful walk-thru adventure. My bf shrugs and says, "this place is for nature people". I laugh at him then slap his arm as the nature people walk past us. Yes, it's a mixed style of hippy/bohemian/antique/girly ... but that's what I love about it. The clothes are beautifully designed, and pay close attention to details. The kitchen items are so cute and quirky but on the verge, however, of looking "old"... but again, that's the antique look. I hurt when I walk through here. There was a time when I would look at a price tag on one of their beautiful dresses (or shirt, or skirt or home accessory, whatever have you) and then calculate my discount. I was one lucky girl because for a good two years, I had a family discount card. Alas, those days are gone since my sister has moved on from retail. My card is now defunct. Despite knowing what's good for me, I still peruse the website and occasionally buy something that's on sale. We were a few days away from taking our family pictures when I realized that the dress that I wanted on the website might not get here in time. My only choice was to get to the store asap. We were greeted right away despite the store being quite busy. After walking around the store for a bit, I walked to the dressing room with a few dresses but not the one that I had spotted online. I had some awesome help from the floor manager, who was able to grab the exact dress I was looking for. He knew the different brands in the store well and was able to tell me what sizes I would need in each dress. I managed to refrain from buying anything from the home section. My goal was the dress and I was trying my hardest not to go beyond buying that one thing. Their home sale section is good, there were some candles marked down to $10. There was a basket of knobs and dresser pulls that was calling to me but I told myself to wait. I got into a little trouble while standing in line to pay for my dress. They've placed a table with little trinkets and accessories near the cash wrap (so clever, praying on the weak design-starved mother) and since I had to wait a few minutes to be rung up, I ended up picking up a few Jane Tran hair clips from there as well. Oh, weakness. I wish they were rude to me at this store. Bad customer service would keep me from giving up my wallet to these people but they were great. The sales people were nice right on down to the woman who wrapped my purchase in tissue paper. Much to the chagrin of my husband ... If you spend enough time with me, you know that I'm an Anthropologie nut. I get the catalogue by mail, the email updates, I'm friends with them on Facebook, and I love to take trips up to the Roseville store and let my boyfriend wander the Fountains for a few hours while I try on dozens of outfits. The clothes, of course, are the main driver. Some may say it's pricey but they have a separate clearance corner if you're budget's tight and their tees are reasonably priced. Anthro has the absolute cutest dresses I have ever seen and they've always got tons to choose from. I also love the layout of this particular location. The SF store is upstairs/downstairs but this one is wide, which makes it easier to plot out my approach. I've done plenty of reconnaissance at this particular store and usually like to start in the northeast corner and work my way around clockwise so that I end up by the fitting rooms and pj's. Speaking of the fitting rooms, this is really the only complaint I have with this store. They are incredibly dusty. Given the amount of time I spend in there, we're talking full-blown sneezing fits and itchy eyes. With a little more TLC in the cleaning department, they would definitely be a 5-star for me. read more

Andee could not have said it any better - Grandma meets Urban Outfitters. I was really excited that this store was finally opening around here. I've shopped at the ones in Santa Clara, downtown SF, and Palo Alto for everything EXCEPT their clothes. Every single time I go into this shop I end up finding only 1 piece of clothing a year that truly catches my eye. I usually go here for all the kitsch stuff like books, soaps, candles ... this is a great place to go for gifts. Bring your whole bank account if you plan on buying their clothes ... their target client is between the ages of 30-45 with a $150,000 annual income. Honestly they should've just opened this shop up in Granite Bay. One thing this place lacks ... friendliness. First time I've ever stopped into an Anthropologie where no one said hello to me. You're not any better than anyone else because you work at Anthropologie, ladies. Bottom line, you're still working retail, even if it's "upscale". [Hint, you're the one working, not the one shopping?] I definitely prefer the San Francisco store with the basement and the nicer staff, but this is good for now. There are some really pretty, unique pieces that I absolutely LOVED here, but then there were those that were just kinda drab. I spotted a lot of cute Ella Moss, and Jo's. All the housewares and accessories were divine. I am a sucker for cute little over priced stuff so you can imagine it was hard for me to hold back. I adore Anthropologie and gaining inspiration simply by walking through the doors. Each time I'm here I have been greeted and welcomed in, and am hit with the all too familiar scent of the voluspa candle (which I always buy one of each trip in) and continue my journey through the gorgeous interior of the store. I meander through the store taking my time to appreciate all the little trinkets along the way and by the time I hit the Sales room, I've already been offered a fitting room and magically my arms are light again without the load of clothes that always finds its way into my arms. I used to shop at Anthropologie a lot back in my early 20's. What stopped me? The credit card debt. I have recently rediscovered Anthropologie after hitting up every other store at the mall and beyond and not being able to find ANYTHING to wear to work. Anthropologie has a lot of really cute and really unique things that I love! Everything is also well made and doesn't feel like it's going to fall apart after one wash. I also love shopping at Anthropologie because it makes me feel like I make a lot of money. Which I don't. So I have to limit myself to only a few pieces at a time every now and then. Isn't it best to build your wardrobe slowly with quality pieces anyways? Anthropologie basic shirts and basic tanks start at $40-50. Nicer shirts and tops will run you $78-98. Even nicer sweaters, dresses and pants will run you $125-150++. Don't even ask about the shoes. Anthropologie also carries varies items for your living room, bedroom and kitchen as well as some jewelry and accessories. This location also has a nice sale room which is always PACKED! I will continue to come back here because they always have something new that I HAVE to have. I always get compliments on my clothes whenever I wear something I purchased here as well which makes coming back even easier! read more

I'm probably the only guy to review an Anthropologie but since I have a significant other who likes this place, I actually spend more time in here than I care to admit. Great little spot, love the decorations (I spend all my time playing with their furniture if not sitting in the amply provided seating for all the boyfriends and husbands) and the cookbooks always make me super hungry so that I get more annoying as time goes on while the significant other is perusing the shelves. I also appreciate every candle they put in the store. I would know, I have smelled them all. The blue volcano one is the best. I don't actually remember the name, I can't be caught reading the label or feign interest to encourage longer Anthropologie shopping session, you know? Also after coming here, I appreciate the prices that I have at the stores I shop at. I feel like I can afford anything and everything at my shops after seeing the price for a doorknob made of scrapmetal or the candles even. I feel like a king afterwards. But a peasant inside... Enough sarcasm, it's a nice store to wander through and feel lost in. I am in love with the clothes and home decor at Anthropologie, if only I could actually afford to shop here as a regular. :( The clothes aren't so bad because, even though they are cute, a lot of times they don't have the clothes in a size that fits me. But the home decor... now that makes me sad. The gorgeous duvet covers and sheet sets that cost hundreds of dollars, and even when one set goes on sale it's still expensive! read more

In love with their clothes. I looked at the sales online and the items that I wanted quickly sold out online. This store had the sale items that were online and it seemed like they had more sizes. Wish I could shop here more because the clothes are beyond cute. They're cute, well made, and comfortable. So I guess that's why we have to pay the premium for these clothes. Definitely will be back here more to do some damage. And it does smell heavenly in there. A plus plus is their crazy return policy. The cashier told me that if I wasn't still in love with the items I purchased in a few months I could return it without a receipt. I like to know that someone is so confident in their clothing line and successful that they can offer such an amazing return policy!! read more
