Antics Forma deserves nothing but a full five stars. Service, speed, ambiance, and product were all equally deserving. I ordered a very simple arugula salad, a pizza and the handmade peach pie. I'm an absolute sucker for fresh fruit pie (it's a dying desert medium, at least in the west), and Antica Forma's is absolutely perfect. Flakey crust, fresh fruit, tastefully sweetened glaze. Vernal isn't necessarily the "gem of the west" so to speak, but Antica Forma makes it worth the necessary travel. Wouldn't otherwise be saying this, but, definitely looking forward to my next Vernal, Utah visit. read more

Amazing! The food is top notch, with great service and a peaceful atmosphere. I have to say the best pizza I've ever had. Traveling with 6 its always hard to find a place we all love. We were staying in Vernal to ease access to Dinosaur National Monument, and Baby1 requested lasagna for dinner. So off we went - it can be easy to miss this place if you're just whizzing by, as it's not adjacent to other restaurants, but it is adjacent to the Dinosaur Inn. The sauces we had on the lasagna and my bolognese were wonderful - real home cooking. But the big highlight was their Insalata Mista (called simply Mista on the menu): the balsamic wasn't heavy-handed, and the way the salad was dressed allowed the veggies to shine through. Excellent Italian in Small Town Utah I know that the reviews keep saying it, but I too didn't expect to find such good Italian food in Vernal. Nothing against Vernal--it's a nice town filled with nice people. In Antica Forma we had some excellent tomato bisque and lasagna. The pizza was might good as well. Portions are generous and prices are fair. Service, while a bit harried on a busy Saturday evening, was friendly and helpful. read more

Good but high way robbery. I'm a local for the last few years haven't really heard really great things but decided to give it a try. The food is good not great. Don't get the "summer special " we ordered a simple margrita. We where told the special was a large ( I'm thinking family size 16-18") we got the same 10" personal you would get for $8 but payed $15 . They also brought out a cheese pizza at first then took it back and just added tomatoes that where cut way to thick for a margrita and uncooked and return it to are table. read more

Fantastic little family-owned pizzeria that specializes in Neapolitan style thin crust pies. Really enjoyed the story behind the restaurant and how the owners recruited lead chef, Israel Hernandez (#3 Neapolitan pizza maker in the world) from NYC to Vernal to make delicious pizzas for locals and travelers alike. Favorite was the pistachio pizza but you really can't go wrong with the menu. Make sure to ask your server what are their favorites as we were able to sample 4 different pizzas and each had their own unique flavors. We spent two days in Vernal and ate twice--once for dessert and once for lunch. Both were superb. The desserts are baked fresh on site. Peaches were in season and the peach pie was a peach of a treat. Fresh peaches carried all the flavor and the crust was flaky and light. For lunch we had the pulled pork sandwich and the Philadelphia cheese steak. Both were tasty and generous portions. The cheese steak is made with real steak and sets it apart. Try it. After reading the reviews and noticed that most of the 3 star or lower reviews raved about the pizza but complained about the other dishes, I figured I couldn't go wrong with just their pizza. I was right. I had their pepperoni and it was very good. Their pizzas are thinner (not thin crust just thinner) so expect to eat twice the amount of pizza then you normally would anywhere else. But they use fresh simple ingredients. The sauce was tomatoes with Salt added. It wasn't greasy, just simple and very flavorful. Its nice not having a pizza that is extra buttered or overly garlic and other spices. Just good simple pizza. If you are in Vernal and like pizza, give them a try. read more

The ladies at Antica Forma were sweet and the food was fresh but as far as flavor, for these travelers it was what we expected for this part of Utah. On paper it all looked like it was going to be good and it was cooked well but the flavor was just ok. It was also obvious that the staff weren't particularly happy with all members of the staff so they were a bit on edge. Beer menu was good, missed some better wine options. First, good food for a reasonable price! Nicely presented and tasty salad, very good pizza. But, they must have been slammed the hour before I arrived because the sounds of table clearing and plate gathering lasted through the first half of my service. The other half was sweeping and resetting tables that wouldn't be used until the next day. A very noisy atmosphere the entire night. I was never sure who was my waiter. All were helpful but no one kept an eye on my needs, like a waiter would. I understand getting slammed, no table cloths or placemats on slate tables, and poorly thought out bus boy drop off but the priority should be your current customers. Noise and neglect sucks. Next time, I'll do take out (the pizza was good.). read more

Nice clean environment but wasn't impressed with the food. We ordered a pizza margherita and a plate of chicken Alfredo. The pizza was burnt in several places and was covered in flour. The Alfredo had decent flavor but the sauce had a very chalky texture and the noodles looked old like they were cooked hours before and allowed to dry out. read more

Great pizza. Quite authentic to northern Italian style. The service is a little slow paced even when not busy but can easily be fixed by letting them know in advanced you are on a time limit. Fabulous pizza and worth the wait. They seem a little understaffed, especially with carryout orders on a Saturday but they handed it well. The salads we had were super delicious and the free garlic bread and pizza were better. The crust is super light/fluffy and cooked excellently. This place is a gem. Authentic Neapolitan pizza and excellent, inventive salads. Each "personal size" pizza is very generous. The Pistachhio pizza was our hands down favorite. We came with our kids, and they enjoyed the Cotto and strawberry lemonade. The staff even brought out pieces of dough to entertain them. I was skeptical of all the glowing reviews and decided to check it out. 5 stars was easy to assign after the best meal we've had in a while. Certainly the best pizza in ages. In addition to my skepticism regarding the reviews I wasn't interested in another pizza covered in processed foods. Well the pizza we had was very flavorful and obviously made with fresh and home made ingredients . We started with a tasty salad and ended with the lemon cheese cake. Everything was wonderful. We read the very positive reviews, and came here very hungry. The wait staff didn't get around to us at all for a while -- maybe some confusion in which table belonged to which waitress. Anyway, we ordered a pizza and two small salads. The salads came in 20 minutes, and after 45 minutes we gave up and left -- offered to pay for the salads but they let us go. The thing that clinched it, for us, was when the waitress said 'oh, that's your pizza' but it went to another table -- three times! We could see her asking the cook who shrugged. The owner here is incredibly friendly and the place is clean with lots of TV's in case you want to catch a game. The pizza oven is beautiful. Highly recommend the house-made caprese, fresh lemonade, and most of all the pistachio pizza. Prices are appropriate for the value that you're getting - everything is fresh and cooked to order.
