The pizza was fresh, hot, and came out super quick though so it was worth it on occasions. The size of that thing was huge; it was on the border line of an extra large. About 10 mins or so later, the pizza came out. You can add additional fresh ingredients from a small table if you want to load up the pizza even more. The Capricciosa has been my all time favorite for years. I would rate it a 5 all day. It does seem though that the quality has gone down over the years. The crust tastes and looks completely different than it used to. I don't know if they are using different products now? The last few times I've ordered , the crust is thicker and doughy like Dominos. When Antico opened they were great, a couple years ago they dropped off badly but over the last year or so they have come back to their original great standard. I don't know what they went through but the pizza is fantastic again and the pizza comes out fast even when they are busy. The seating is limited if you want to sit inside but if you want to sit outside there is plenty of options. It's casual and great for family and or friends. There is a water cooler set up for plain water folks. Outside seating is scarce and charming. The pizza comes out lightning fast. I would say 5 minutes tops. It was delicious. For example, they simply refuse to leave out ingredients from their mediocre at best pizzas despite being told he request was being made due to food allergies. Not an impossible request since their pies are made to order. And please don't even dare to ask to sample for more than one sample of their gelato since they've globe out their way to place signs in every possible location to let you know that they will not accommodate any requests beyond the skimpish single sample. The employees were hustling in the kitchen and on the floor making sure orders were prepared and tables were cleaned in a timely manner. There was always someone around to deliver orders and pickup trash when completed. They have a dozen different pizzas to choose from with a variety of meats and cheeses, so you cannot go wrong! The ingredients are fresh, and you can see them making everything. The slices are thin, but the crust is thick and soft! All pizzas are one-size only, which gives you 8 large pieces for around $20. I ordered the house special Sophia pizza and a couple of draft beers. The pizza was served on a tray which I liked. The pizza itself was good But not great. Perhaps it was the one I ordered which has a strong mushroom and truffle flavor. I usually like meat on my pizza and was regretting my order after the first slice. The crust is awesome 10/10. This version does get a bit soggy in the middle which is not great for pizza. I would def try again but order a different pie. Hope this post helps you. One of the best pizza joints in Atlanta in my opinion. I usually get the Margherita with sausage and the Sophia. The crust is super thin and chewy. I usually like to eat it there and make a dipping sauce with olive oil, parm, peppers, garlic, salt and pepper. They also have chili oil for those who like it spicy. What We Got: Capricciosa Margherita D.o.p. x2 San Gennaro Lasagna Sophia This is my second time at Antico's and I absolutely loved it. I know, you may think thats a lot of pizza, but my friends and I love pizza and ordered 4 at first. After devouring them and them liking the pizza (it was their first time), we ordered two more. And proceeded to devour those as well. My recommendation is the Sophia (Specialty pizza that may or may not change from time to time, I do not know), Lasagna, and San Gennaro. (Margherita is also great, and my friends loved it) All three are really good. I really love mixing the garlic with the oil and a little black pepper and using that as a sort of dipping sauce for the crust. The red pepper flakes are also great to spice things up and the parmesan to make things cheesier. They also have pickled red peppers that I enjoy to kinda help change the palate. Most definitely my favorite pizza spot. Will be back again. Having a gelato/cafe connected next door eliminates any need to step outside in the heat(during the summer) and especially the cold during the winter. I have no bad things to say about Antico. This location is a larger version of the midtown space. All of the classic Antico pizzas are there! My favorite part of this restaurant is their toppings you can put on. They have a small table loaded Aon crushed garlic, hot peppers in oil, Parmesan cheese, salt and pepper, pepper paste, and red chili flakes. Oh, and obviously olive oil. I always mix and match my garnishes and customize a yummy dip I can use for my crust. Does it get any better than a mixture of Parmesan, crushed garlic, chilis and olive oil? Nope. I honestly think this pizza is worth the price. If you're looking for papa johns style pizza, this ain't it. It's baked in a brick oven and the quality of the ingredients is really unrivaled. This was our first time at Antico in Alpharetta. We were kind of confused when we walked in and was greeted with a sign that said, "waiting area for pickup/takeout". As we made our way to the register to order, we told the young lady that this was our first time at Antico and she was very helpful with helping us place our order. She also told us we could sit in the cafe area since the dining area was packed, and we ended up doing just that because it's a very small restaurant. Luckily there was one table available in the cafe and we grabbed it quickly. We ordered the San Gennaro pizza, a large salad, and a couple of bottled drinks. When our order arrived at the table, there were no plates! I would have been happy with a paper plate to share the salad with my spouse and somewhere to place my pizza in between bites. But nope, nothing, nada! I was really excited to try this pizza though! I mean Italian sausage, hot/sweet peppers, mozzarella and caramelized onions what could be better, right? At first glance, I wasn't too impressed with the looks of it but I was willing to dive in. Well I was terribly disappointed because the pizza crust was burnt :( If this was cooked in a pizza oven, which I'm assuming it was, that oven needs to be cleaned or pizzas not kept in so long that they burn on the bottom. Since that's the first thing to hit your tongue, that's all you could taste. It was so burnt that I had black stains on my fingers from holding the pizza. The toppings might have been really good but honestly you couldn't really taste them because of the burnt crust. Needless to say, I will not be going back. It was too crowded, too frugal and the pizza didn't live up to the hype :( read more

The food was amazing we had a cheese pizza for the kids, the meatballs were 10/10, and the capricciosa. The meatballs come with this rosemary focaccia for sopping... chefs kiss! We also had a house salad, and the vinaigrette that comes with it... bussin bussin! Chef Rallo is a pizza artisan! My kids watched him build & cook pizzas for about 10 minutes before I had to pull them away. The dessert shop in front is a gem! They had about 10-15 gelato flavors, and also baked goods. My wife enjoyed the tiramisu, the kids loved the chocolate cake, and the hazelnut cake was fire!!! Not to mention cannolis, a myriad of other dessert specialties. We ordered a Margherita D.O.P. pizza with pepperoni, as well as an order of the meatballs. And it was DELICIOUS!!! The meatballs came in a tub with marinara sauce, a side of ricotta cheese, and a container with bread. My coworker and I DEVOURED it! The pizza was phenomenal. The garlic, basil, buffalo mozzarella cheese, combined with the pepperoni and the tomato sauce.... I can't even describe it. The pizza us good, really good as good as the original store no matter what they say. What makes this location slightly less cool is the radically different ambiance. This is a suburban locale so it's missing the authentic gritty urban gentrified "chic" the other one has by spades. In Atl you are in an urban sort of industrial area near the cool lofts and the seedy bar and there's some hobos walking around plus the Ga Tech students staff etc. the inside is bright busy and the view into the kitchen transports you out of the usual Atl blandness. The Avalon location the interiors don't work as well. Of course everyone is familiar with the ridiculous table situation but once you're seated you get the pizza quick and easy.
