Okay, this is fast becoming my family's go to pizza place. Their thin crust pizza and fresh ingredients remind me of my time in the Tuscan valley of Italy. We ordered 2 take out pizzas: the Bellini -vegetarian and Milano - meat lovers. On the Baluchi, I asked for extra mushrooms which was honored with a generous amount. My family enjoyed the meat lovers which came with 4 meats including pepperoni, salami, sausage and ham. Service was excellent, everything was ready for pick up within 15 minutes of placing the order. We tried the margherita pizza and the Americano salad - both were delicious and the salad had the perfect amount of dressing. The pizzas are baked in a wood-fired oven, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients, which are imported from Italy. Outstanding Neapolitan pizza, amazing service, and beer on tap! I should've gone here a long time ago. Itala Pizza has been open for about 3 1/2 years, and I finally stopped in -- now I regret waiting this long! This place has easily become my new favorite Neapolitan pizza spot in North Georgia. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the space -- plenty of room, large tables, and a layout perfect for families and groups. I even saw another table celebrating a birthday and grabbing gelato afterward. The service is fantastic, everyone's friendly, and the whole place runs super efficiently. They've got two wood-fired ovens, which means pizzas come out fast -- mine was ready in about 5 minutes even though it was busy. The Sorrento pizza (their pepperoni) was amazing: crispy, flavorful, not greasy, and that dough... just perfect. The crust had the right chew, and the pizza was served on a sturdy tray that keeps it from sliding around. Prices are about $20-$25 per pizza, one size (roughly 15-16"), great for two people. I even had leftovers, and the pizza still tasted great cold later. The pistachio cannoli was fantastic -- perfectly fried, light, and filled just right. They've got a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine (Coke Zero for me ), a cooler with Italian drinks, beer on tap, and -- my favorite touch -- a big metal container by the register with hot extra pizza sauce for dipping. It's those small details that make the experience special. Parking was easy, even though the plaza is busy. There's plenty of overflow parking across the way if it's packed during peak hours. All in all, amazing food, great people, fast service, and some of the best authentic Neapolitan pizza around. Highly recommend checking this place out -- you'll be glad you did! read more

Pizza and gelato in one place? You've got me! Huge open seating area with lots of big tables for larger groups. You order at the counter, choose a seat, then they'll bring your food and drinks to you. Plates and utensils are self service. Brick oven pizzas were delicious! Kitchen is open, so it was very fun for the kids to watch. They weren't so friendly with the kids though, which was a bummer, but I also get it.. not everyone is a kid person. They also had a big wine collection. It was such a hot day that we got beer instead, but definitely would love to come back to try their wines. Highlight was the gelato. Great flavors and big portions! One spoon was more like two. I love lemon so I got the lemon sherbet and it was the perfect finish to a great dinner. read more

The space itself is very clean and spacious. The servers themselves were also helpful and kind. I would say that it's a decent place to get some classic Italian pizza, but I prefer a chewier bite in my crust. Came in here on a Friday night with my parents for a quick bite to eat and this did not disappoint! After ordering at the counter our salad and caprese came out so quickly and both were very tasty. Our pizza also came out very fast and was SO GOOD! We finished our meal with some creamy gelato. The staff was so friendly and was helpful with recommendations. We were excited to visit this restaurant after reading the reviews. Our excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The restaurant was not crowded at all. Perhaps there were about 15 people total there on a Saturday afternoon. Had it not been for the reviews we wouldn't have known anything about the concept because the employees offered no customer service or explanation of their menu items. We placed our order at the counter with a grumpy man who never even said hello to us. We were given an order number to place at our table. The woman who brought our pizza to the table also did so without greeting us or saying anything to us. We found the entire experience quite odd and unwelcoming. The pizza was mediocre. My wife works close to here so my first time trying Itala Pizza was via a take out to go pizza and salad. I enjoyed the food and quality of the pizza and salad at home. Fast forward a few months and we finally had a chance to eat the restaurant so the experience was new and even better than eating it at home. The restaurant is spacious, well lit, and clean. The pizza and salad are great and the condiments are plenty and very well organized. It was nice to have the option to have some basil, oregano, olive oil, spicy olive oil, Parmesan, and marinara sauce to add on to an already delicious pizza. Our go to pizza was usually the Bellucci, but we have also enjoyed their margherita pizza and calabrese piccante pizza as well. Their gelatos are delicious and high quality. Drinks are in bottles and their prices while a little high, are competitive for this napoletana style pizza. Solid place for Italian style pizza and their salads are great also. The dressing is good but I have enjoyed their salads without dressing since the blue cheese adds enough flavor to the fresh greens already and pecans and blueberries add a delicious touch. 5 solid stars for Itala Pizza and glad you are here. OK, so I heard about this really good ppace for "Authentic Italian pizza," in John's Creek, did a little research and decided to brave the wet streets on my CHEAT DAY and give it a try. I am not one for cussing, so I will just say... Wow! The pizza was REALLY GOOD! Full disclosure, it is absolutely NOT like an American-style pizza. The crust is thin, not cracker-thin but stable enough to hold the light, yet well portioned toppings. It is not over-done or piled with a bunch of toppings to confuse your palate or tastebuds. It is as I said REALLY GOOD. They also have desserts (did not indulge), gelato, sorbetto, cake slices and cannolis. As far as seating, there is plenty. Kind of reminded me of a school cafeteria. Big long tables with plenty of chairs. All that was missing was 'Peter Piper' by Run-DMC playing on a jukebox by the Coke machine and it would have time-warped me. Stopped by Tuesday night around 7pm and there were several open seats. My boyfriend realized the owner was the same owner of Alino Pizzeria Forno and that they had moved locations from Buford to Johns Creek a while back. FOOD: Toscana ($19.99) - Pizza was made from scratch. You can watch them throw the dough and make your pizza from start to finish since the layout of the restaurant is so open. I love how simple the menu is but also how they don't overlook the taste and use authentic ingredients and methods. I know the pizza is pretty dang good if my boyfriend is finishing all the crust too. They've really got the taste, cook, and quality perfected. Stracciatella La Marianna Gelato ($4.69) - I believe it is chocolate chip gelato from VOGA. The gelato was creamy and not that sweet. If my memory isn't wrong, it tastes a bit different than the one at the original store. SERVICE: Not sure if it was just tonight or this is normal, but we had to wait about 30 minutes to get our food. I wasn't that bothered since I appreciated the time being taken on the pizza since it was made from scratch but something to be aware of! All the staff was hardworking and very friendly. Sauces, condiments, water, and silverware is self-service but they do serve the food and clean up after you. Note that they only have picnic-style benches so you will have to share seats with others. I have eaten here twice and the pizza is fantastic! Have tried a handful of them and they have so much flavor and everything is on point. Service is good, I have only gotten takeout but they have always had my order ready in time. THE GELATO is in another realm it is truly the best gelato I have had in my life. They give you a ton in one scoop and the flavor and texture is incredible. It has a casual cafeteria like seating and vibe which I find nice as I don't feel super underdressed picking up a pizza in my sweatpants. Came to this plaza for a different restaurant, and saw this place. With nearly every restaurant being a chain here in Georgia, I like trying independent establishments. First, it's an open seating layout, which is odd. I happen to like the simplicity. It is very clean. We started with the Italiano salad. It was huge. My wife and I shared it. Very fresh and the homemade apricot dressing was delicious. For pizza, we ordered the Capri Verdure. It was delicious as well. Very thin, and not overloaded with ingredients. Italia Pizza is another Neapolitan pizza place in Atlanta metro area. They have huge space, making it look like a factory with benches. It is your typical, trendy restaurant design. And they have a bunch of Italian memorabilia to remind you it's Italian! When you look at their menu, the menu is reminiscent of another, popular Neapolitan pizza chain in Atlanta that rhymes with "Pantico." Some of them are plain copies of their pizzas with different names. Just like the other restaurant that rhymes with "Pantico," they have the same desserts like gelatos and cannoli. Honestly, they copied so much of it, it might as well be that restaurant. How is their pizza? It's pretty good. I thought the crust was a bit on the salty side. But it was baked well. It had decent charring, good spring and chew, and airy. The sauce was good and the ingredients were fresh. They had condiments at the bar, but it didn't have crushed garlic. Sad.
