Not bad since it was cooked fresh in a brick oven but I think the quality and taste of ingredients could be improved. Had a pepperoni pizza and the pepperonis could have been cafeteria pepperonis, and were a little too salty. But the dough was very plain. First- it's in a strip mall so easy parking as compared to other places in downtown Hopewell with street parking. It's clean, nicely decorated and friendly staff. The pizza is delicious! We got a football deal- wings, pizza, mozzarella sticks and garlic knots for $49. The marinara is really good. Their wings could've been a little crispier but they smelled so good. I've been to Antimo's several times. Everything was fine. But I recently ordered several pizzas for a family gathering. It wasn't a holiday and I gave them three hours advance notice. When I went to pick them up, I had to wait 45 minutes. Nobody, including the manager, had any idea when my order would be ready. They didn't even apologize for the wait. They weren't short-staffed. They just make no attempt to think about their capacity when promising when orders will be ready. Facing a house full of disappointed kids when I got home was not fun. I ordered several items from the menu to bring to a family's house that has just experienced the loss so that they would have some good home-cooked food. I ordered some meatballs, garlic knots a couple of the chicken dinners, Some eggplant rolatini. Stopped here on a recommendation from a friend (who never steers us wrong) and it was delicious. We ordered the Detroit style pizza which was perfectly crisp on the edges and the pepperoni was the real kind; the one that is small and curls into a cup. Friday 5pm. Decided to try this place as the owner is a sibling of the owner of another of our favorite pizza places. Unfortunately, that is where the similarities end. While the ambiance in the dining room is nice, there were only 3 two-tops. The two-tops are so tiny that with a pizza and appy, there was no room for plates. Really. One by the front door, one by the kitchen door and one by the entrance way from the lobby to the dining room. The hostess/owner directed us to one of these. There were many other tables available in the dining room. In fact, there was only one other group in the restuarant on one of the two four-tops. There was a ten-top, two eight-tops and two-six-tops. All unoccupied the entire time we were there. Hostess/owner could have easily given my wife and me a four-top. We took our seats at the tiny table near the Vespa and she said she would be right back. 15 minutes later she came back to take our order. (Should have brought two bottles of wine... long wait). We ordered the calamari appetizer and a pizza entre. That was the last we saw of her. About another 15 minutes later the pizza (mushrooms and onions) was served by one of the busers. We told him we had ordered the calamari appetizer. He said it would be coming out soon. ??? A few minutes later the calamari came out. Would have been nice to enjoy the calamari before the pizza, but it didnt really matter because the calamari lacked any flavor. While a nice count, it was just rings, no tenacles (my fav). Looked like the kind you buy in the frozen food section of the supermarket. Pizza was under cooked and rather small in size. Total dissapointment. Thank God for the excellent BYOB of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. We caught the buser's eye and asked for the check. $40 for pathetic pie and supermarket squid. Very disappointing food and "service". I get pizza from here often and it is delicious. I also love the ravioli! Large portions and delicious sauce! The spinach ravioli in particular were so light and fresh. I liked that the tomato sauce was not too garlicy as I have an allergy. I would definitely reccomend for some classic family friendly italian! read more

This place is a hidden gem, however everyone should know about it and come asap. I'm not sure we had a fluke night because of poor weather, but we had the place almost to ourselves on a Friday night. It's tucked back in a strip mall, but it's got the cutest interior. A great place for a baby shower or celebration of some kind! Service was delightful, food was delicious, and menu had so many great choices. We got the peach caprese appetizer, lobster ravioli and a pizza to share. Every bite was delicious. Antimo's is a charming pizzeria/Italian eatery hidden away in a strip mall in the heart of Hopewell that's easily missed if you're not specifically looking for it. The interiors are very tastefully done and evoked memories of a trip I took to the Italian countryside. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well which looked inviting for when temperatures are warmer. I'm not sure if they make their pasta on site, but they do have some equipment on premises that I assume is part of the pasta-making process and they even sell jars of their own pasta sauce. We stopped in for a quick lunch, so didn't have a sit-down meal with wait staff serving us. I was highly surprised that they had a Detroit style pizza available by the slice, so we got that, some traditional cheese slices, a chicken primavera sandwich, and an order of garlic knots. While I ordinarily rate individual items, there were no weak links in the meal and everything was of high quality. The garlic knots were done just right without being excessively soaked in oil or being too heavy, and served with sides of marinara sauce. Both the plain cheese slices and Detroit style slices were of great quality with regards to sauce, cheese, and bread, and would rank pretty high amongst the tough central New Jersey pizzeria standards I set for pizza. The pizza was cooked just the right amount and was more crispy rather than doughy. The Detroit style slice was a great change of pace from traditional slices you normally get and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The chicken primavera sandwich was prepared using high quality and fresh ingredients, and was well liked. Overall, I'd rate the food a 4.5/5, but since Yelp doesn't allow half stars, happy to round up because of the really tasteful and welcoming interiors of the restaurant and friendly staff. I look forward to returning to try out some of their pasta dishes for a proper sit down meal in the near future and would recommend Antimo's Italian Kitchen to others. read more

Good pizza, good service and a nice dining room but OVERPRICED for the Hopewell area for a plain large pizza pie! Ordered a large pizza (no toppings) for lunch and the bill came to over $31 inc a service charge for credit card and modest tip. The pizza was $25.00, it is under $20.00 at most other local pizzerias. It seems they want to encourage ordering of expensive "personal pizzas" for in-dining customers rather than sharing. read more

What a fantastic surprise hidden in an unassuming strip mall. We stumbled upon this place my accident and have visited twice since. Very casual atmosphere with good service. It is a nice BYOB Italian restaurant that has a pasta making station by the front door to let customers know that the pasta you're about to order is made in-house. We had a swordfish special with polenta, a pizza, and pasta with red sauce instead of the polenta for one of the orders,. All tasted great! As someone who does not use salt, perhaps the red sauce was saltier than I would make it, but it was good. BYOB place, and they will uncork for you and bring glasses. Would not recommend this restaurant for a group. After having an excellent lunch here with a few friends in the past, we returned with a group. It seemed like a different restaurant. Everyone was served the same two items, no choices at all. All of the courses were served on a single plate, including the bread and the salad, and dessert was on a napkin because the plates had already been taken. Unlike the lunch in the past, the food lacked flavor. The coffee with dessert was undrinkable and was served in a paper cup. This was an opportunity to win over 17 new customers - I doubt that most will return. read more

Went here to meet a girlfriend for dinner and neither of us were happy with our food. She had chicken francaise and I had chicken piccata, and both had an oddly strong flavor but not in a good way. They were reasonable portions and bread is provided too, but I didn't enjoy it enough to eat my leftovers. Service was ok but nothing noteworthy. The inside does look nice with brick walls and a larger back room for parties. They are BYO but we didn't bring anything. If I were to come again I'd try the pizza given better reviews there, but I don't think we'll return. read more

I stopped into Antimo's on the way back from a job site and overall I was a bit mixed about my experience. On one hand, the white pizza was absolutely delicious - the combination of creamy sauce, fluffy cheese, and fresh herbs was truly heavenly. However, I was a bit disappointed with the plain pie. The base was unfortunately quite soft and lacked structure, and the overall flavor of the pizza was a bit underwhelming. My coworker thought both the pepperoni and sausage slices were superb. Maybe I got unlucky with the plain slice, but I would still recommend Antimo's. The rest of our slices were great! I should also mention they have a clean, beautiful indoor dining area and a nice seating area outside the restaurant. read more

We were looking forward to our dinner out at Antimo's Sunday night following calling for the specials. We were shown to our table soonest we walked in, water, freshly baked bread and olive oil with a blend of spices were brought to the table. Our wine opened and in an ice bucket and ready to go. We started with a bowl of the sausage lentil soup, a nice hearty bowl with chunks of lightly seasoned sausage. Enough for two to share and enjoy. Next, for our entrees, my wife ordered chicken scarpariello over linguini and ordered the octopus marechairo special with just one change- swapped out pasta for fresh spinach with garlic and oil. Both dishes, a beautiful presentation and so very tasty. Plus, there was plenty of leftover of the chicken scarpariello dish for tomorrow night.... packaged with more of their fresh baked bread; yummy. The octopus was lightly firm, in shorthand- the way it ought to be served; not hard, not squishy. A full tentacle cut up into 1-inch pieces marinating in the marechairo sauce which was very light with a hint of salt. I love octopus, however, not too many restaurants know how to prepare it just right. My best ever was in Mainz Germany at an Italian restaurant. Antimo's preparation differs but was nicely done. Friends of ours told us about this place. It is definitely off the beaten path and if your not looking for it you will miss it. It's a pizzeria/Italian food restaurant with a good variety on the menu. The burrata and prosciutto appetizer was excellent!! One of the best I've ever had. The mushroom tortellini with cream sauce and onions was absolutely delicious. They give you enough to take home and have it for lunch the next day. Pie was great, but we ordered what should have simply been an $18 pie.,their prices..and got charged $22 bucks for a simple single topping pie. FINALLY!!! I ate here a couple years ago after working in the area and had one of the best bowls of bolognese i havenever had in my life!! But then the worst happened - time progressed and I forgot where the hell I was when I had that glorious bowl of bolognese!
