Crabmeat stuffed sole with mussels, asparagus and Parmesan risotto special

I returned to Vidalia for the second time for a family dinner last night, and we had a wonderful time! Top notch service, our server was very kind and informative. We brought some champagne because they are byob. We ordered a few calamari appetizers for the table, delicious and tender with tomato dipping sauce. We all ordered different entrees and everyone was pleased with their selections. I ordered the crabmeat stuffed sole entree and I was extremely impressed with it! Absolutely delicious, with so many different elements all perfectly cooked and flavorful. We ended with a few different desserts, including the tiramisu and creme brûlée which were lovely. 10/10, we can't wait to return again!

Wanted to try this place for a while. Right away, we really liked the small cozy atmosphere of it essentially being in a small house with an enclosed porch. They had it very nicely decorated. The hostess greeted us right away. The inside seemed very loud, however we ended up getting seated in the enclosed patio. In the summer they open it up and expand the outside seating. Our waiter was very friendly and accommodating. I wanted a dish off their previous menu and they made it no questions asked. They give you complimentary garlic bread to start. We ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp in a bourbon sauce for an appetizers, and a special that was panko breaded burrata over arugula with a homemade dressing - both very good. For entrees I had the bone in pork chop saltimboca (prosciutto and mozzarella) and my wife had the sea bass with parmesan risotto - both very good. We finished it off with coffee and shared a crème brûlée. All in all, we would definitely go back and look forward to trying more on the menu. Byob was also a huge plus!

Drinks were delicious and the wine was very good. We enjoyed the appetizers, especially the nachos and the Caesar salad was tasty. Service was fairly slow, which was disappointing because by the time we got our entrees there was no time for dessert. Now to the entrées, the black cod was delicious as was the cheesesteak. Two of us ordered the papparadelle al Limone and we added Burrata to it. The pasta was made in house and was made well, but the Burrata on top was so cooked that it was like rubber and the pasta was in a watery butter sauce that had zero flavor. If we weren't out of time and needed to get to the show, we definitely would've sent it back. It was that bland. I can't remember the last time I sent anything back, but this would've been one of those times. I would go back to the restaurant because I like the vibe but you would have to do a lot of convincing for me to ever order that entrée again. I was torn between giving it four stars or three. If you had a 3 1/2 that's what I would've done.

However when we moved indoors, we got serviced quickly! Got a medium well burger (with bacon added). Overall a decent experience and I'd return to explore more of their menu.

Once inside, the feeling was a lot better. Not much in the way of art work on the walls, but still had a nice warm feeling. There were 3 of us and we did a lot of sharing. The Scallops in Shredded Filo was good but the Crab & Artichoke, with garlic aioli, parsley and capers was definitely "the winner". The Seafood Ceviche with scallops, halibut and shrimp was also delicious. While 2 of us were still enjoying our appetizers, our entrees were brought to the table and our plates moved to make room for them. I made the comment to no one in particular that I would try to eat faster as the seafood ceviche was pushed off to the side of the table. We had a 7 pm reservation and for the most part the restaurant was full by that time but we were not intentionally eating slowly. I could see if we might be taking up too much time eating and they had to move the tables but that was not the case as the restaurant was only half full by the time we left. For an establishment that is charging the prices that it is, Avg $18 for appetizers, high $30s for entrees, no one wants to feel rushed. The Halibut Almondine with Beurre Blank was good but not as good as we had hoped, with it being on the dry-side. The Dorado with Baby Vegetables was delicious as well as beautifully presented with "potato fish scales". A shared warm Pecan Pie with Vanilla Ice Cream completed our meal. Their menu is extensive making it an easy decision to return but I will mention that we would like a more leisurely experience this time around.

From the moment we sat down, it was clear this wasn't just dinner -- it was an experience. The bread alone was award-winning quality. The squash harvest soup was absolutely amazing -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. It was a five-course meal, and every course delivered. The cheese and cherry ravioli was an incredible sweet-and-savory combination that had me savoring every bite. The roasted duck had unique, complex flavors and was definitely delicious. I also tried a bit of the shrimp -- even though I passed most of it off -- and it was excellent. And dessert? I don't even know exactly what it was, but it was outstanding.
