I was buying at the farmers market and the weather was not cooperating so I decided to come here and try this place I saw on Andrew Zimmern's show. I came alone on a rainy Saturday afternoon and was seated in the corner of an empty part of the restaurant where I was completely ignored even after flagging down servers. I was considering walking out but I was starving. 15 minutes later I got an order of the pasta with crab. While I waited I was served marinated raw carrot ribbons and fresh bread and that was absolutely delicious. It didn't take long for the pasta to come and that was also very good although it would've been nice if the crab was somewhat chunked and not all shredded.. I'm glad the trip was not a complete waste however the service was horrible and for that reason alone I will not return.

We had a get together here following a funeral and Vecchia Osteria was the perfect place for it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The owner had the side room near the outdoor patio set up beautifully to accommodate our large group.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service was consistently attentive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Staff came out frequently to refill drinks, bring new courses, and check on us throughout the meal. We started with fresh Caesar salads, warm bread, and bottles of wine. The oil and seasonings on the table made for a perfect dipping mix. From there, the food just kept coming. Eggplant rollatini was served in delicate spirals, the crab-stuffed pasta was rich and flavorful, and the rotini in vodka sauce was absolutely amazing. I couldn't get enough of it and ended up forgetting to grab a picture. We finished with coffee and a unique almond tiramisu that had a really nice nutty flavor. Every part of the meal was fresh, delicious, and made with care. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Vecchia Osteria made a hard day feel comforting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Thank you to the staff and owner for a truly wonderful meal and experience.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Vecchia Osteria is what looks to be the neighborhood BYOB. Their paper reservation book is large and full, and staff hugs show that there are many regulars.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is not a fancy place, but offers large portions and an extensive menu. The sautéed garlic carrots starter they bring is a nice touch (and delicious). We ordered the grilled calamari which were large pieces over dressed arugula. The arugula was dressed minimally and the calamari was over cooked and chewy. For mains, we got the pappardelle bolognese (homemade pasta with an average sauce), chicken francese, and veal funghi (3-sizable pieces covered in mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes). All dishes were good-- not great, not bad. We ended the meal with the limoncello cake. It was good, despite it not being recommended by the waiter (that was an awkward exchange). It was a decent meal at a BYOB, but nothing to write home about.

Haven't been here in awhile and was glad to see it was still packed on a Saturday night but still didn't have to wait long for our table. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The room we were in, for the most part, had tables for big parties - 8 to 10 people at each and they were full.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wait for our dinner was also very reasonable. The Fried Calamari was a little disappointing this time around - although good it was on the dry-side. The Spaghetti Carbonara was as good as I had remembered it and was again my favorite of all the entrees. The Squid Ink Ravioli with Shrimp was a very very good evening special. The Spaghetti and Meatball entree was good. The menu is large but not overwhelming and we look forward to coming back again soon to try something besides pasta. BYO makes it a nice choice too.

I am a lover of Italian. I enjoy pretty much any Italian dish and revel in finding a new spot I had yet to discover. This past Sunday, we checked out Osteria. Tucked in the back of parking lot the tiny eatery offers indoor and outdoor dining. The staff warm an inviting. Despite my server reminding me of the villain in the current book I am reading; his service was on point. The meals were served hot and promptly, but lacked the umph that we were expecting. They fell above Olive Garden (thankfully) but couldn't reach the bar of Carlucci's The pasta did taste hand made (a plus) but the flavors of the sauces and the skimping on the cheese on the parmigiana were disappointing. Lots of salt. Chef is quite liberal with salting everything thoroughly. I do enjoy having a salad option with meal and of course bread is a must when eating Italian, but none was not offered. We were full, as the servings are plentiful - but sadly left no room for dessert. Vecchia is BYOB, but as others sat around us, it seemed as though "complementary" house wine was provided if asked. (Perhaps perks of being a regular) Would I return, perhaps, but also so many places to try it may be some time before we make it back.

Vecchia Osteria was AMAZING! We went for Mother's Day and felt like we were apart of the family! From the apps to the desserts we were guided by our amazing server who joyfully walked us through the menu! The food was DELICIOUS and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the decor was so cute and homey![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We also happened to stumble upon the owners on our way out who doubled down on all the hospitality we were greeted with inside! An all around great experience, every bite will leave you wanted more!!

If you are like me and grew up in an Italian household where grandma made Sunday sauce or maybe you are looking for some good homemade sauce but don't have the time to make it yourself - I found the next best. If you are in the Newtown, Bucks County, Pa area the place to go and get your jar of homemade sauce is at Pasquale's Vecchia Osteria or his Aqua e Farina, both on Richboro Road in Newtown. Pasquale's food and sauce has always been raved about - whether the Chicken Parm or a good pasta dish - the sauce is everything. He has now jarred his recipe and sells it in his restaurants. You don't have to believe me, but believe your taste buds.... Have a meal first, fall in love with the sauce & then get some while heading out the door... You will come back for more.... Ciao my friends.

We order a starter and the Mahi Mahi. We were brought room temp water. There is no liquor license so we order soft drinks. They arrived in the can. We had to open them and pour them - again, no ice. We are told there is no Mahi Mahi but the waitress didn't know the name of the other fish on the menu? "The Branzino?" "YEAH!" The pumpkin soup was okay. French onion was quite good. The Branzino? Below average. Menu pic has the whole fish but we were served two small fillets. The asparagus was plain. That was it. The main course was placed as we were still eating the soups. We looked up and our server said...."Oh! You're not done? Well, I can clear your bowls or just leave these here!" With amazement, we asked for them to be left and we got to them after we were done with the soups. Had to ask for refills on water twice. Sorry to say that we aren't going back and we doubt this place will last. We had high hopes. $100 total for dinner which wasn't bad but very much not worth it. Hated writing this review but I read them for restaurants and appreciate honest reviews. This is one. Not recommending this place.

This is there second shop in the area (Princeton is the other), and a third is near opening in Ocean City. The ambiance is blond wood, lots of windows and growing succulents on every table and shelf. It is bright and cheery, inviting a long hangout for work or conversation. Power plugs are plentiful. I walked in intending to grab and go, but was quickly seduced by the attractiveness of the room and friendliness of the two women who interacted with me. I ordered a Blue Royale Smoothie, and as the only customer in the house, took a table in the corner overlooking the entire operation and the sunny world outside. It was primarily a blueberry concoction, with several other healthy ingredients mixed in, and presented after blending as a deep purple slurry. It was cool and delicious and encouraged a slow pull on the straw to stretch out the enjoyment. I took a final suck 30 minutes later; that's how good it was. I will return in the morning for their steel cut oatmeal and perhaps the avocado toast. Just wish they brewed organic coffee for those of us with caffeine needs. Too, Pure Green would be an unchallenged social benefit if they found a way to reduce plastics in their products. At $10+ for a smoothie or bowl, that should not be so difficult to work into their environmental footprint. Otherwise, Pure Green has a lot of nutripromise.
