I got some classic, old, baby books for a good friend of mine's little one. Alice and wonderland, the three bears (you know, the one with portage made just right?), and more! The printed version I got were mostly from the 1970s. I also found an old Canada map, that I fell in love with the cover. (Of a women in a convertible cruising down a street with very mod flowers everywhere). It was from 1976 and I plan to frame it. (I'll add pictures once I'm able)

Just so you know: The Brown County Antique Mall is actually three different buildings…read more The main one, which sits just off the road, is your typical antique store. It has all kinds of tchotchkes, doodads, baubles, trinkets and other old and unique miscellany. The store is separated into booths, and there are different things in each booth. I saw all kinds of things that I wanted, but I had to physically stop myself from buying some of the vintage milk glass mugs. No one needs a milk glass mug with a buffalo on it, but the heart wants what the heart wants, sometimes. If you leave the main building and walk outside, and then turn to the right, you will see the second building: Route 46 Vintage. This vintage store deserves its own review, so you can read my separate review for that. But I'll just say that this is where you'll find funky vintage clothing and accessories. Then, there's a little shed-looking building that has more antiques and fun stuff, and also handmade goods from local artisans. Basically, the Brown County Antique Mall is a little campus full of eclectic treasures. You can definitely spend an hour or so here (or more!) looking through all of the stuff and buying all the things.

So we are definitely going back to this shop to check out what we missed and to see what new items were added by the vendors. The building we did see was a good size and the variety abounds. I love costume jewelry and was able to find several pieces that I liked and I brought home. There were big outdoor items on the front porch when we walked up. The place is right on the highway and easy to get to with adequate parking. The prices in the booths varied greatly with some being very reasonable and some I thought were high but I think that is the same as most antique/vintage stores of this type. We had a lot of fun shopping there and when we checked out the cashier was nice and helpful and told us about a couple store policies that we asked about. The owners are down-home Midwest friendly and engaging. There is a large barn with rooms filled with bottles, jars, tools, glassware, furniture and much more. It's the kind of place that you can poke around to find what you want. The prices are reasonable. There are garden type items outside and in out buildings. I picked up a couple plates for $4. There are a couple parking places next to the building.

So that's still a lot of square feet of floor space. That is why I am going to say this store is HUGE. But not all of the booths are active. I do see what appears to me a higher quality of merchandise as compared to other indoor flea markets. There are many booths that sell new tools as opposed to used tools for instance. The same holds true for kitchen items. The furniture seems to be newer as well generally speaking. I really like this store. I find more products that I can use in this store.

We started at Buffalo Gal, and it wasn't what I expected. The last time I was in this space, it was a home decor/boutique business. Even though I was surprised, I enjoy browsing antique furniture, jewelry, dishware, clothing, and home decor items. Buffalo Gal didn't disappoint with such a variety of good quality antiques. We found a clean and well organized business with prices easy to locate, which is important to me. I found several gorgeous items I would have purchased if I had space for. I did find a beautiful tea set I had trouble leaving without. Due to the price, I could only buy one part of the set. The design reminds me of a Mayan pattern in rich pottery shades of rust, caramel, and chocolate. I hope to return soon and purchase the remainder of the set. Funny, how you can always find space for something you love. The prices were reasonable, the selection was impressive, and the owner was friendly, answered questions, and worked with me. I'm glad I stopped in and will return soon.
