    Beef Stew
    Dennis L.

Delicious. Small little family owned store on the corner with a counter but mostly take out orders it seems. I went with the beef stew to go. Super generous portion sizes with rice, beans, and plantains over rice. The stew and beans were good, but I added a little salt and bam! A whole new world opened up Jasmin. I would definitely get it again. Taste was on point. Beef a little tough which is why I gave 4 stars, but flavor was there and good chunks of beef

A tiny establishment packed with huge flavor great owners and great bang for you buck . Take it to go call ahead of time but make sure you ask for their specials.

From left to right: Arroz Marinero, Chaulafan, Pollo Guisado, and another order of Chaulafan

Got food to go yesterday. Every time I am in the area I try to come here. I always get their Chaulafan and Arroz Marinero. The portion is good as well as the amount of seafood and meat. My whole family LOVES these two dishes especially! Yesterday we got the pollo guisado as well and it was delicious. All of the food has a home-cooked type if taste, NOT overly salted like a lot of places these days, but definitely salted enough and really flavorful. The people who work there are friendly. Sometimes the food takes a LOT longer to come out than they say... maybe x2.5 whafever they say sometimes, at least when I order those rice dishes. Please be patient, and maybe allow for that extra time when planning your meal, as the food is DELICIOUS and well worth the wait for the freshly-cooked food! NOTE that they may charge you a couple bucks for takeout containers, and also if you use credit card there is a credit card fee. Be aware of it coming in, in case they forget to tell you. This place is the best!!!!!

I love coming here. Not only is their food so deliciously amazing BUTTTT the people are so nice. Reminds me of my parents and family.

This place is back open! They had a fire a year back but they are now open and the inside looks a lot cleaner. This is usually my spot when my family is in the mood for some authentic take out food. I'd say most of the dishes are ok/pretty good. But the dish that really brings this place some light is the ROASTED PORK. The juice just oozes out of the pork with every bite, and they throw in some pork skin with it, which tastes like candy it's so good. As well as rice beans and delicious plantains. Today I unfortunately didn't get the roasted pork as I try to taste some of the other dishes every now and then. Today I got the shrimp and fried rice, and it was ok. There really wasn't anything crazy unique or special with the other dishes I tried. But whenever I take someone here I tell them to get the roasted pork and they always say it's the best around mercer county. If they can some how put the same care into their other dishes like the roasted pork, this place would really stick out more. Overall though it's a pretty good take out food place...I am just obsessed with their pulled pork which is what drives the rating, I'm so glad they're back on their feet! EDIT: got the roasted pork, still the best in the county in my opinion!

We stopped off the NJ turnpike after using the Yelp app. The beef stew is amazing, tender and delicious! The portion size is gigantic. There's only counters with stools.

Chicken Fried Rice...portion size is insane

Hole in the wall joint offering huge portions of Ecuadorian food. It has a couple seats to eat along the edge and a TV that you can tell is always on a soccer game or network. I got the chicken fried rice (order #12). You can tell it's pretty authentic as it's basically cooked to order. They serve it in a take out box and it's completely filled to the top. Holding the box felt like it was at least 3 pounds of food. It's very good for the price too as each dish is roughly $12. Only small issue is you can't find their menu online! I had to use a Yelpers photo to identify what I wanted! All in all it's one of the best bang for your buck eateries in the area. I will be be coming back in the future to try the steak.

Fantastic Ecuadorian food. Freshly made, authentic, large portions and very tasty. Great selection of typical Ecuadorian food. More a takeout place than eat in. Small bar stools and tiny counter offer uncomfortable eating space. But inspite of small size this place is worth returning. Friendly service and fair prices.

Very good Ecuadorian food. a literal hole-in-the-wall with a few barstools for seating. The Chaulafan, an ecuadorian-chinese shrimp and chicken fried rice with plantains, is great. Serving size is huge, I think it could feed two people unless you just ran a marathon this morning.. They have quimbulitos, humitas, morocho, timbulos, pan con nata. Close to the pleAsant Memorial Park on Peddie Lake so you can eat your food there if the weather is nice. I have visited Ecuador, this seemed quite authentic. Highstown has a large Ecuadorian immigrant population. They have some Ecuadorian sodas. Cash only!

This comida is muy bueno. Mucho arroz y cooked with mucho amor. Totally do the fish ! They have 15 main dishes and they're all a-ok. The rice is super fluffy and seasoned well. The beans are on point. The meat is super tender. If I could explain how much I amo este comida, pigs would fly. Definitely go here. Get the FISH AND BEANS AND RICE. ALSO THE FRIES ARE GOOD. They also have soup and sandwiches and dessert. This place also has ethnic drinks and it's legit. I'm dating an Ecuadorian person and she thinks it's pretty authentic. The workers are all from Ecuador and everyone inside is from Ecuador and everyone loves the food here. If you are into ethnic food or if you're not into ethnic food everyone can appreciate rice and beans and fish and meat and soup and dessert and LOVEEEEEEE. It's universal YAY. COME COME COME!

Super small place, but the food is Delicious. Believe me when I say that the food is good since I'm Ecuadorian myself and I tend to be pretty picky with food from my own country. The first time I went I got costillas with rice and beans and I absolutely loved it. The portions are pretty good. Also I absolutely love the pescado Frito. So try it! Before going, try to go to an ATM since it's a cash only restaurant.

I had the chicken fried rice and it was suberb! The food is cooked to order, so be prepared to wait a few minutes. This was enough food for 3 meals! Excellent plantains on top, too! Cash only establishment, so bring some money with you. It's worth it!

Kind of felt the need to put that out there, it's not really a suburban location. That said, echoing some of the others I'm reading snippets of, WOW to everything - the service, the food, the ambiance. It's got charm when you walk in, looks old but not dated. The waitstaff is super friendly, has some jokes, multi-talented (they brought out the guitar a few times to wish some other folks happy birthday), and knowledgeable. The food is really good - everything I tried was just delicious. For the table, we ordered some calamari and empanadas, and both were good. Drinks were also tasty - that sangria was really good, and the mojito (love that they had it available, first of all!) was also a hit. I would double-click on that sangria, though. For my entree, I ordered their whole fish, which was not only delicious but HUGE. I ate about half of it and was full. Then my friend and I split an order of limoncello cake (I think that's what it was), which was on point, and ended w/ espresso, also good. Overall, everything about that place was great, and when I mentioned a Spanish place in Trenton the next morning to some guys I was with, one of them asked, was it Malaga? That was just another great review, for a local guy to know what I was talking about just by description. Bravo, I think some of us may be back sometime!

I ordered the Grilled Chicken Wrap, which was excellent, packed with chicken and very filling. I ended up taking half home because it was both generous and delicious. I highly recommend stopping by for drinks and bites if you're in the mood for classic cocktails and solid food. There was a young lady sitting in the corner in the phone telling us that there were no seats if we didn't have a reservation. Not the most polite but whatever. We went back to the bar and got a table. Why are bar tables always so sticky?! Anyhoo, we just missed the Happy Jour menu but it was only a $1-2 discount (except for the burger: $4). Service was pleasant and attentive. The food was overpriced for sitting in a bar. $30 for a bowl of ramen! (I don't know how it tastes but it's $17 across the street.) $22 for a burger and fries! $10 for two little bao with a single shrimp in each! Ok, that's not too bad since Bao is generally overpriced for some reason but I could have gotten more than one shrimp. Unfortunately, the price did not reflect the quality. My friend who got the ramen said it was in the bottom 25% he's ever had. My burger was pretty good but the bun was toasted and brittle and made an unnecessary mess. The fries--personal preference--I don't like skinny fries. As for the bao, the shrimp was too salty. I liked the finishing salt but the flavoring salt was too heavy. Also, it was drizzled with aioli and I couldn't pick it up and eat it like the sandwich it was. Overall, a disappointment. Mediocre food and an elevated price for no reason.
