In an effort to support local businesses, we ordered take-out from Antojitos Ecuatorianos. It's a small place with very friendly owners. The food is comfort style, freshly made served with large portions of rice. After reading the reviews, my expectations were high. However, our entrees fell short. They were lacking in flavor and spices. We ordered the Pollo Guisado (chicken stew) and Filete de Pescado (Fish fillet). The chicken was cooked well and coming right off the bone. The fish was deep fried, but a bit salty. Fried plantains and tostones accompanied the meals, but I've had much better. We were left underwhelmed with our dinner. read more

Customer service was horrible! Once we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by customers who were dining in. A woman who came to the counter looked at us, rolled her eyes, turned around, and went to the back of the kitchen fussing. The customers looked at us in sadness while a male approached the counter. He asked us if we wanted to order? I said yes. He pointed to the menu, and I stated, "I know what I want to order. " I placed my order because of the great reviews, and my brother recommended this restaurant. Once I was handed my food, I told him about her horrible customer service. His excuse was that she was just in this country a couple of weeks, which is bull! Two months ago I tried to order and she refused to take my order. It amazes me how people can come to a country, don't speak the language, and still be rude as hell to the natives because of a person's skin color...but you need my money to live in this country. When I go to their country, I am greeted by people who are darker than me, and they are natives of that island. I was so disappointed in the customer service, the racist words she stated in her "native" language...ain't no way I speak Spanish!!..Surprisingly I do!!! Let's rate the food! I ordered stew chicken. The chicken had the skin on...boiled and was seasoned. I would give it a 5 out of 10. The plantains were not fried, 2 out of 10. The beans had cilantro, 1 out of 10. I paid around $16 for the plate, and it wasn't worth it. It looked nothing like the pictures. They gave me boiled/baked chicken and not stew chicken. Got food to go yesterday. Every time I am in the area I try to come here. I always get their Chaulafan and Arroz Marinero. The portion is good as well as the amount of seafood and meat. My whole family LOVES these two dishes especially! Yesterday we got the pollo guisado as well and it was delicious. All of the food has a home-cooked type if taste, NOT overly salted like a lot of places these days, but definitely salted enough and really flavorful. The people who work there are friendly. Sometimes the food takes a LOT longer to come out than they say... maybe x2.5 whafever they say sometimes, at least when I order those rice dishes. Please be patient, and maybe allow for that extra time when planning your meal, as the food is DELICIOUS and well worth the wait for the freshly-cooked food! NOTE that they may charge you a couple bucks for takeout containers, and also if you use credit card there is a credit card fee. Be aware of it coming in, in case they forget to tell you. This place is back open! They had a fire a year back but they are now open and the inside looks a lot cleaner. This is usually my spot when my family is in the mood for some authentic take out food. I'd say most of the dishes are ok/pretty good. But the dish that really brings this place some light is the ROASTED PORK. The juice just oozes out of the pork with every bite, and they throw in some pork skin with it, which tastes like candy it's so good. As well as rice beans and delicious plantains. Today I unfortunately didn't get the roasted pork as I try to taste some of the other dishes every now and then. Today I got the shrimp and fried rice, and it was ok. There really wasn't anything crazy unique or special with the other dishes I tried. But whenever I take someone here I tell them to get the roasted pork and they always say it's the best around mercer county. If they can some how put the same care into their other dishes like the roasted pork, this place would really stick out more. Overall though it's a pretty good take out food place...I am just obsessed with their pulled pork which is what drives the rating, I'm so glad they're back on their feet! Hole in the wall joint offering huge portions of Ecuadorian food. It has a couple seats to eat along the edge and a TV that you can tell is always on a soccer game or network. I got the chicken fried rice (order #12). You can tell it's pretty authentic as it's basically cooked to order. They serve it in a take out box and it's completely filled to the top. Holding the box felt like it was at least 3 pounds of food. It's very good for the price too as each dish is roughly $12. Only small issue is you can't find their menu online! I had to use a Yelpers photo to identify what I wanted! All in all it's one of the best bang for your buck eateries in the area. I will be be coming back in the future to try the steak. read more

Not happy with the food at all I order ceviche de camarón and it cost $10 it only had 10 pieces of shrimp very sad it lacked flavor, salt, pepper, cilantro, lemon it was tasty at all not worth it. My husband order their breaded chicken with rice the chicken was super greasy! It also lacked of taste & seasoning which are typically known to Ecuadorian dish. This is a tiny restaurant really more suited for takeout than dine in. There are no individual tables and you will have to be content to sit on one of the 8 or so unpadded wooden barstools at a counter. But if you like authentic food from Ecuador, you'll be glad you chose to have a meal here. There were three of us, and we each ordered something different. I ordered the ceviche which I have been craving for about five years... My companions ordered the pork ribs and the beef steak respectively.
