I had an extremely disappointing experience trying to place a simple to go order. This restaurant requires customers to provide credit card information over the phone, which I was willing to do. I was trying to order fish ceviche only, but when I checked Uber Eats, the only available option was the seafood mix, which I cannot order because I am allergic to the seafood included in it. I called the restaurant back and asked to speak with a manager. Instead of trying to accommodate the situation or find a reasonable solution, I was repeatedly told that they could not take my order and that I would have to physically come inside and wait for it. What made the experience even more frustrating is that the person I spoke with identified herself as Kimberly, while the receipt shows the name Maria. I would like clarification regarding this discrepancy. Overall, the customer service was extremely disappointing and unnecessarily difficult. I would appreciate a call from the manager or owner of the restaurant to discuss what happened and why a simple order could not be accommodated, particularly when I was trying to avoid an item that could cause an allergic reaction. read more

However when we ordered the whole Snapper at Market Price, it was served raw inside. We let our server know, and she said she would have them fry it again. When it came back out (we had already finished the steak dish by that time) it was so greasy and with a thick overdone batter taste- from being deep fried in vegetable oil again, that I couldn't eat it personally. I was shocked that a manager did not come to the table whatsoever, and zero customer service was provided to make things right for our experience. This is a great option in Tampa for Peruvian food. We arrived at 6pm and was seated immediately. If you arrive after 7.30pm, I noticed the place was packed and parties did have to wait for a bit. Valentina G was our server and she was amazing! The host as well was extremely welcoming. Valentina assisted us with deciding our entree and she was not wrong. Everything we ate was delicious! You know it's a solid local spot when you don't spot your typical looking American or tourist. I was here with three others including a baby and the three entrees we ordered were more than enough and then some. Hearty and filling portions that were packing in spices, flavor, and savoriness. The service was quick, attentive, and helpful. Atmosphere and decor were modern with an its cultural theme everywhere. I didn't have any drinks, but I've heard the smoothies and beer are great! One of the few true ceviche Peruvian places I've been to. It takes a while to get your food because it's NOT pre-cooked. Hence it's good!!

A Peruvian family friends recommendation brought us to Aji Ceviche Bar and my first reaction when I visited was how lovely and clean the interior was. Located in a strip center on N. Dale Mabry, tucked near the back, it was a pleasant surprise. I will mention service first because the people were extremely nice, very attentive and delightful. A very pleasant ambiance. It was an early lunch so it was slow inside but there was constant parade of to-go orders exiting the kitchen. The decor was gray, white and black accents with colorful art on the walls. The menu is nothing short of preponderous, it would take a great many visits to navigate the sheer volume of traditional Peruvian dishes, drinks and desserts it houses. The dishes I chose ranged from good to excellent. I will rate each one. The issues I encountered stem from the lack of fresh seafood, most or nearly all is previously frozen. The Ceviche Explosion is a visual and gastronomic treat. One of the more popular dishes on the menu. Love the fresh citrusy flavor of the sauce. 2 skewers of shrimp with beef loin add to the appeal and both the tender succulent beef and the grilled shrimp on the skewer were excellent. One great detractor was the squid which was hard, rubbery and chewy. Fresh squid would greatly enhance the dish especially since it comprises about 1/3 of the seafood. The fish however seemed to be fresh. Also, I would have enjoyed it more with less corn, more fish and more avocado. I rate it a 4. Second was the Parilla Marina de Mariscos. A plate of grilled seafood. The previously frozen seafood and the chewy squid made it difficult to enjoy. It also tasted as if one of the items had turned. The fried yuca on top was great. They were gracious enough to take that dish off my check. No rating. A trio of sauces added to the flavor profile very nicely. Aji Limo which is a very hot pepper to be added to the ceviche for the more adventurous. Rocoto con Huacatay which also had heat and was a very tasty dipping sauce for the beef and shrimp skewers. Last was the Tartara that was a perfect match to the Fried Yuca. Rate of 5. Next I had the Lomo Salteado. This for me, was the star of the show. Succulent beef cooked Med-Rare per my request in a divine dark and intense wine sauce with red onions and tomato. Accompanied by Fries and White Rice. One of their most popular dishes at Aji and now a favorite of mine. I rate it a 5 and recommend it highly. Curiosity led me to order the Risotto a la Huancaina. I had to try at least one of the yellow sauces. Perfectly cooked risotto in a tasty, silky and well balanced sauce. Topped with parmesean which I enjoyed. It rated a 5 as I found no flaws. I had a beer that I liked very much, a Peruvian Pilsner. They also had a couple other flavored beers from Peru. My cocktail choice was a Pisco Sour con Chicha Morada. It purple color derived from the countries corn of the same color. It was an excellent choice. 5 rating. For dessert I had Mousse de Maracuya. Made of passion fruit with strawberry sauce and powdered sugar. Sweet and tart at the same time it was __________. Also a 5 rating. For me this was a 4.8 rated experience, obviously the lack of fresh seafood was the only issue. I am very excited to return and try some more traditional dishes as soon as I can. Since the moment you walk in you can feel an unbeatable vibe! I love the aesthetics of this place, look so clean and neat. I've heard about this place a couple months ago so I decided to go try it, and I highly recommend it! We started with the pulpo al olivo and a causa sampler, both of them were simply amazing! So we started to get so excited about the entrees, I also got a pisco sour with maracuyá, which was very strong and flavorful! As entrees we got the risotto a la huacaina with lomo saltado and the lomo saltado with fried eggs, as I was actually pretty sure everything was so good. We are definitely coming back for sure! After we were finally allowed in, doors do not open till noon, we were promptly seated. There were several of us waiting so that is a great sign. Restaurant is bright and colorful and clean. Looks new. Staff is very friendly. Plenty of parking as the restaurant is in a strip mall. Now the food. The menu is extensive. Almost overwhelming. The descriptions help but need more pictures so I added some to help. They had the Jarra Chicha Mor to drink and it was awesome. Ryan had the Pollo Saltado. He said it was delicious and very filling. He wasn't able to eat it all. I had Quinotto con Cam. It is quinoa with a nice cheese sauce with a mildly spicy shrimp. It was absolutely delicious. I already had a love for Aji Ceviche Bar in Orlando, so when I heard them coming to Tampa, I was excited to go. This restaurant recently opened, & I tell myself always to hold off on going until they have their routine down. Nope I didn't wait and I went on a Friday night. Not a good idea. I keep an open mind but two hours later, I'm still waiting on our food. Many of the female were very cheery and welcoming. Of course we got the one male server who runs around with his head cut off, comes over with a note pad, barely engages, and runs off. Does this spell out bad service, it does because he wasn't around until two hours later when the food came. We asked someone else for our drinks and at the end when the check came he said more than a couple words. I'm not a server, but helpful and cordial is not something you need to be trained on. Food wise, when we finally got it was pretty good. Ceviche with grilled octopus and tallarin Saltado with chicken so basically chicken noodle stir fry. My drink, I didn't love, I'd get something else. There are a ton of drink options. The one thing that made this experience bad besides the long wait time was the smoky environment. They definitely need a better system to clear out the smoke. We had to move from inside to outside. It was so smokey that it made our eyes burn. They definitely need a better ventilation system. I need to go back again in the future, but not anytime soon, and at a lunch time bc I really do love seeing a ton of Peruvian options. Friday night date night and we went out for Peruvian food since neither of us have ever had it. This by far is the best Peruvian food in Tampa! Large order of the explosion ceviche was more than enough for both of us and so delicious We ate all, we ordered a large fried fish platter, including mussels, shrimp squid along with Yuka fries. For dessert we had the mousse fantastic and delicious a must have at the end of the meal. Service was great. Everything was explained to us no matter what questions we had. They started as a food truck out of Orlando and now have around 4 locations in FL. Exceptional Peruvian cuisine worth the drive! Recently went on a lunch date with my mom to this cute decorated restaurant. Really enjoyed the vibe of the Peruvian slogans on the walls, the hanging plants, and the artistic touches. We were greeted and seated, and handed our menus (couldn't help but noticed the unique uniforms). We started with ordering the maracuya (passion fruit) juice, it was refreshing and perfectly sweetened. A bigger glass than you would expect! For appetizers we tried the "Leche de Tigre Clasico" and "Anticuchos". The leche de Tigre had balanced citrus flavors and spices, with smaller pieces of fish, cilantro, and onion in the glass. It was quite enjoyable! The Anticuchos were in a delicious marinade, with grilled potatoes and Peruvian corn that was cooked to perfection. It's spicy sauce really tied it all together to make your taste buds go WOWWW! For our entrees, we went with the "Pescado a la Chorrillana" and the "Seco de carne". The chef took the time to plate it beautifully and while it is expected... it's not something I see often in peruvian restaurants. Nicely done! The Pescado a la chorrillana was everything my mom expected to be and was very happy with the flavors. The Seco de carne was tasty and full of flavor, the meat was soft and easy to pull apart. The beans and sarza are also staples of this dish and they did not disappoint. While we did not have the space to fit in dessert we took home Alfajores and after eating it this morning, I'm very happy I did!
