I have been stopping in at Bull Moose Guns for years now. They recently changed their name to Bull…read moreMoose Tactical to reflect a change in ownership. Stopping in is like stepping back in time, to the days before it was all about being a business transaction and into a time when you felt appreciated as a customer, even if you were just browsing. And you never know what you would find in their inventory. 100 year old milsurp? Got it. Current tactical firearms? Yes. Everything in-between? Absolutely. With their constantly changing selection of new and used firearms, it is worth stopping just to see what they have in inventory. I have purchased firearms from them and have taken my time looking them over, talked with the staff about them and have always been satisfied with the deals they offered. Someone commented that they felt cheated by not getting much for a firearm they sold to Bull Moose, and I get it. The most you should expect is about 50% of the average sale price on recent completed auctions. This means if you take the gun that you paid $600 for to them, and they see that used it will sell for around $400 online, you can expect at MOST $200. Sure, $200 for a $600 gun can seem like you are getting hosed, but that is not just this shop. That is any shop that needs to warranty and assume the risk of being able to even sell the gun at all. In fact, most shops I have dealt with are closer to 25% to 33% of recent sales value, so you'd get even less than $200 most places. In the end, this is a great place to browse, talk, compare and feel no pressure as you look for the best fit for your needs. Small businesses like this are how you should shop all the time.

Not a lot of signage. Owned by Robert Stewart. A brusk, businessman who is very friendly and helpful. And does he have a lot of stuff. Walk around to take it in. You will find many interesting things, but the strength of Robert's shop is that it is a high-end gun store! Browning, Winchester, Ithaca, Remington, Glock, Ruger, Parker, etc. This is the REAL DEAL! Lots of ammunition and gun accessories, like carrying cases. Also has a lot of jewellery and watches. Walk around and look. And if you are looking for something, mention it to Richard. I was there to look at a Hornady re-loader for pistol ammo. My friend tipped me off that Robert had taken one in recently. Yep! There it was, with a number of plates of varying caliber and all the pieces were there to make it a complete ready-to-use machine. Richard prefers cash and I felt bad not having re-loaded my wallet to provide it, so Richard did accept my VISA card. My suggestion is to bring cash. As a pawn shop, if you are pawning something, this is a good, fair place to do it. Directions are on his facebook page: Diamond Pawn Jewelry & Guns LLC. I do not think he has a web page, per se. A great experience. Can be one for you, also.

It is an amazing place. If you don't know much about guns, come on by and get a look. Their array certainly communicates that it is not just rifles and pistols, but so many different kinds, depending on need for them. If you are looking to get smart with home defense, they can consult with you as to what might be best for your situation. And, yes, you can arrange for instruction and shooting of what you purchase. A very excellent service as crime is getting more serious in the greater Charlotte metro area. I especially like their armorer department. Those guys really know how to repair or upgrade guns. In many cases my gun might just need a little thing, like a part or screw, that they will fix while you wait. If your gun needs more serious armorer services, they will do it and call you when it it ready. And there are an amazing selection additional material for gun maintenance, like cleaning, as well as ammunition and accessories. Drop by...you will be amazed.
