Cascade refinery is a little difficult to get into because of medians on Park Road. There's plenty of parking. It's located in an old house on Park road. (it used to be my dentist's office back in the day) There's a buzzer on the door and they will buzz you inside. There's a small quiet waiting area. They have protective glass barrier where you slide your gold/jewelry to the attendant. I didn't feel like they offered a competitive price and ultimately we didn't end up selling our items here. We were offered a lot more money elsewhere. I don't know if I will be back because of their low ball offer but I might try it again in the future to give them a second chance. Very nice to work with. Easy in and out of Park Road. Smells great in here... Very neat and clean & they play nice classical music. I sold some old mismatched silverware and got a good price for it. You do have to have your ID & no unmarked silver. Nice guy that worked with me. It's a family owned business and that's nice for Charlotte to have a convenient place to go. I went ibn to buy 5 Eagle ( 1 oz. gold) coins and was told they were out, had to ask when they would get more (like a freaking Russian bread line), and drag answers out of the guy. Will not be back. I took a fair amount of gold scrap to this place in June 2019 to sell. They tested it away from my sight and told me that one piece was only 10 karat after it had been tested as 14 karat. We are talking about 134 grams of 14 karat gold. Another little trick they pulled on my was that I had included a zip lock bag with 10.5 grams of 18 karat gold that they just palmed and never acknowledged. I was so shaken by their assessment of the one piece that they claimed was 10 karat, I didn't even realize that their quote didn't include the 18 karat piece. I took the offer because I needed to clear a debt. Now I feel like a fool and realize that I didn't have to take the offer but I did. As a retired vet on social security all I can say is stay away! This company has no compassion and is only interested in making money. We tried to buy back (within 1 business day), some heirloom jewelry after we found out it had been sold. They were unwilling to work with us and very rude to my husband. Even if they weren't "legally" obligated to sell it back, couldn't they have made an exception under the circumstances. Companies that don't care about anything but making money and not helping someone under unusual circumstances surely don't care about the consumer and definitely don't care if they do the right thing. They are in business only to make quick money and don't care about anything else. I hope and pray that they personally never have to go through anything like this. We offered to give them $1000 for their 1 day trouble but they wouldn't accept it and told us we would need to pay them $4000 over what they gave for the heirloom rings. After my husband went over there to look at it and give them the $4000, he was told ok and then the guy changed his mind and told him to come back at 3 that afternoon. My husband was very upset and left and asked them to please not do anything until we could come back. Then I received a nasty email telling me not to contact them again.
