I was really nervous to have my house filled with big, brawny Russian men (as the friend who recommended this company to me described them), but as it turns out the two gentlemen (Anton and another young man whose name I did not catch) were extremely polite, friendly, and so helpful! I didn't have too much stuff (one bedroom and one living room's worth of possessions) but they had everything out of my old apartment and into the new in under three hours, including the driving time. They were great about asking where I wanted things to go and very gentle with my things. One highlight that stands out in my mind is that my queen-sized bed would not fit up the stairs, so one guy climbed over a fence with my boxspring and lifted it up onto my second-floor porch--talk about dedication! There was a delay getting the keys to my new place and the guys from Anton's had to wait almost an hour, but they didn't charge me for that time and were very pleasant. A friend of mine recommended Anton's and after reading the reviews, my husband and I were skeptical. That said, I have used over a handful of movers in the past, and of them Anton's was by far the best. What qualifies as good moving service to me is fast, efficient, and careful. The last time I moved from Boston to Watertown (about 6 miles and two furnished rooms) - it cost me close to $1000 in total. This time I moved over 26 miles and about 4 furnished rooms and it cost me $500 in total!! It took half the time and cost me half the money! Literally, HALF!!! The last time we moved I think I paid a few hundred in supplies alone (tape and boxes); and then they spent about 2 hours incessantly wrapping EVERYTHING! Seriously ?!? We weren't moving priceless heirlooms here! My apartment isn't a museum - and my belongings aren't ancient artifacts - so, I don't need, nor do I want everything triple wrapped and vacuum sealed. I'll take half the price any day of the week. That said, EVERYTHING made it to our new home intact! Also, I should add, we have a ridiculously HUGE one piece sofa that the previous movers took about two hours to get up the stairs while scratching the walls on their way up. Right when the two guys from Anton's came up, they looked at the sofa and decided to tackle that first. I thought I would take the garbage out the back while they were fighting with the monstrosity of a sofa we have and make it back in time to see them attempt to bring it down the stairs. Literally, as I brought the garbage out to the curb, I saw them coming out the front door. I've moved this sofa 4 times - each time it included an elevator (with the exception of this apartment) - and, I've NEVER seen anyone get it out as fast as these guy did. I had a few items that I wasn't able to box up properly, like a dresser, and two TV's and I also had an issue taking apart my bed frame. They told me don't even worry about it, we will take care of it for you, and they sure did! I went from a 1st floor apartment to a 3rd floor apartment (with no elevator) and the total came to $300 including everything but with the yelp deal that I purchased ($20 for $50) it came down to $250, which was not bad and totally worth it. 2 months ago, I contacted about 5 different moving companies to get various quotes for moving within Boston. Anton's was reasonably priced so I booked my move with them (sorry Gentle Giant, even though I've heard great things about you guys, I couldn't afford to pay triple the amount of Anton's estimate). For a 1-bedroom, they recommended 3 movers and estimated 3-4hrs. I could have gone with the cheaper option of 2 movers, but I figured 3 movers would be better since I was moving to a 4th floor walk-up. The day before the move, someone from Anton's called to confirm. On the day of the move, the movers called me 15 minutes before the scheduled time of 9am to let me know that they were running about 20 minutes late. I don't blame them since they were heading into downtown Boston during the morning rush hour. Overall, they were quick and efficient. They were careful to wrap all of my furniture in moving blankets. Even though I don't have anything terribly valuable, nothing was broken during the move. The guys didn't even take a break when moving my stuff up 4 flights of stairs in 90 degree weather! The move took a total of 3 hours, but then they automatically add on 30 minutes for their commute to/from their HQ (all of the other moving companies I contacted do the same thing). Moving always sucks, but Anton's Movers definitely made it less stressful. If the Yelp deal is still available, make sure to buy it to save some money. read more

I recently moved my one bedroom apartment from Boston to New York, and was 100% satisfied with Anton's movers. I spent a lot of time looking at reviews on Yelp and calling companies for quotes. I'm confident that Anton's is the best deal around. They are friendly, professional, punctual, and efficient! They were literally running up and down the stairs with boxes. My move was very smooth with Anton's Movers. Two guys showed up 5 minutes before scheduled and got right to work. In a matter of 20 minutes, they cleared my entire living room and kitchen (where I was storing all the items I was moving with). They got to my new location quicker than I did, but were very pleasant about waiting an extra 5-10 minutes for me to get there. Once there, they were up and own a flight of stairs very quickly with very heavy boxes. In all, it took about 2 hours to move me out of my old location and into my new location, including travel time. (They added 1 hour of standard traveling time to and from their home base, so I was billed for a total of 3 hours). For the rate that they charged, (they were the cheapest out of all the quotes I received from moving companies), they did an exceptional job. I've moved about half a dozen times since living in the Boston metro area and never used movers, but this time my husband and I thought it was a good idea given we were moving from a rental to our very first home. We received a few quotes from other moving companies, but Anton's was lower than all of them by about 30%. On top of that, they were super easy to work with from the get go. Rather than go online I decided to give them a call (since this was my first time using movers), and I spoke with an office manager (whose name escapes me at the moment) who was very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. We discussed the dimensions of our rental apartment and what would need to be moved, the date, and discussed the quote for packing everything as well. Shortly after I received an email confirming our conversation. The move was today, 4/24, and it went so smoothly. Manny called about 20 minutes before he and his team arrived at the apartment, and when they arrived they went on a quick walk through with my husband. They worked productively and efficiently, and the whole apartment was packed in about 5 hours...as in, everything; we did not pack much in preparation for the move. The team moved our second floor apartment into a second and third floor condo. The whole endeavor took about 9 hours, which is still several times faster than I or my husband could have done, but they were also meticulous about our property and did not damage our belongings or any portion of either of the houses. Some furniture needed to be disassembled before moving but everything was reconstructed in the new house. Overall, this was an incredibly positive experience, and Anton's made a generally very stressful endeavor relatively easy and seamless. I would definitely use them again. read more

Anton's was great. Their quote was a lot less than a certain "big" Somerville company and the actual cost ended up being even lower. They were highly communicative prior to and right up until arriving on move day. The move itself was very smooth: Leo and team arrived exactly on time and loaded and unloaded super fast. When my couch wouldn't fit up the front stairs they hoisted it to the back porch. At the beginning, in the middle and at the end, Leo asked if they could help with anything else. They went ahead and used the stairs without complaints, even though I had told them that they could use an elevator. The guys were polite and courteous. Given the number of positive reviews on this site, I was surprised to have such a negative experience. My bad experience with Anton's Movers started the day before my move when they called to "confirm" my appointment. The guy on the phone told me in a matter-of-fact way that they were pushing back my appointment a couple hours. He didn't apologize, and he didn't ask if the new time was ok for me. This was after I had the time booked for a month. The experience of the actual move started out OK. They were fairly quick loading everything up, but they weren't being particularly careful with anything. However, I realized after they already left that they had left behind one of my boxes. They had carried it out of my apartment and just left it behind in a hallway! I had to contact my former roommate and get him to go searching for it. How unprofessional. I'm seriously regretting giving these guys a tip. Do yourself a favor and avoid Anton's Movers. read more

They came to my place, picked everything up, put it in storage for two months and then brought everything to my new place in New York. The move couldn't have gone smoother. Anton replies quickly and has great communication. They are very up front with costs and anything extra, for example I needed a couple large picture frame boxes which they provided at pretty much the same price i would have paid at home depot. The two guys showed up on time and worked super quickly but carefully. They disassembled my ikea bed and helped me take down my curtain rods. The guys were total pros and very friendly. There were no problems when I called to schedule the delivery to New York, and they showed up around 7:30am after driving over from Boston (I didn't even have to take time off from work). To be honest, I was a bit concerned about how my mostly Ikea furniture would hold up to moving, but with the exception of a few nicks and bumps it came out unscathed. The only casualties were a couple cheap wine glasses that I probably didn't pack too well. It took them a little over a half hour to unload everything (one bedroom worth of stuff) including assembling my bed back together. I think the total for moving my stuff from my apartment in Boston to their storage, storing it there for two months, and moving it from Boston to New York came to about $1450 with tip. I had a great move with Philip and Ivan this past weekend. They called ahead to let me know they could arrive early and were able to start packing their truck about 15 minutes ahead of schedule. Philip and Ivan were very quick in moving out all of the packed boxes and were quite careful with all of the larger and more fragile items. Once at the new apartment, they were very communicative in finding out where each item belonged and how I wanted things left. The movers were also very kind and respectful. The only negative aspect of the experience was that I called during the week ahead to ask a question but my message was never replied to. Extremely poor experience with this company! Not only was the service provided not as advertised on the website or as described to me in arranging my move, the movers sent were extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. For example, I provided a detailed listing of my possessions that was used to generate a price quote. The estimate time provided was five hours. However, the movers actually took twice that amount. Therefore I paid nearly double of what was expected. While I understand that estimates are approximate, I have a hard time believing that I received a good faith estimate considering that I provided a complete listing of possessions and the estimate was not even close to the actual time. It would have been cheaper for me to move from Boston to NYC. Further, the service received was very poor and unprofessional. For instance, I was scheduled to be moved by a team of three workers at 9:00 AM; however, only two movers arrived on time. These movers did not commence moving until the third gentleman arrived. Therefore, I paid for another's tardiness. The movers took an extraordinary amount of breaks, often sitting around or smoking between trips for items. Further, they took a lunch break. I understand that moving is laborious and that breaks are needed; however, these costs are not to be passed to the customer. I expressed my concern about the breaks and was assured that the movers were not adding this time onto my final billable amount. On the contrary, the movers did not keep track of this time and simply removed one hour from my bill. This amount is wholly inadequate Furthermore, while taking one of their numerous breaks, the movers left my new televisions and numerous boxes unattended on the sidewalk. I was fortunate to step outside at the moment that a passerby began going through my boxes!!! Who knows what may have gone missing if I didn't catch that, and how long my posessions were going unattended for. Also, after the movers loaded a coffee table onto their truck and drove it to my new home, I was informed that they would not be able to get it into the house because it was too heavy. The movers simply took the item off the truck and said that they would leave it in the street for me to deal with. Clearly, I was not paying what proved to be an exorbitant sum, to conduct the move myself. Additionally, the movers took a substantial amount of time insisting that each item of furniture needed to be "professionally wrapped." Despite this, I later discovered that several of my furnishings have been chipped and gouged on the sides. Be a kind person I also offered the movers snacks which they did not eat but subsequently took an entire box of granola bars and a pint of dried cranberries, and a roll of paper towel with them as they left!!! They were kind enough to leave all of thier garbage and empty bottles strewn about my apartment though. I am entirely unsatisfied with the service provided to me by these movers. I contacted them to rectify the situation and was not even given a response back. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY. read more

Amazing experience! We moved from Boston to NYC. Setting up the move was a breeze with online status updates and talking to a real person (maybe Anton himself?) on the phone. The price was amazing... half of every other estimate we received from other companies. The guys showed up on time (15 minutes early actually!), calling an hour before to check-in and update. Same on arrival in NYC. They unloaded our entire 1-bedroom in 20 minutes and moved up into a 5th Fl apartment in less than 45. Really impressive! They were really kind and polite and didn't balk when they realized I slightly underestimated how many boxes we had. oops! Everything made it; no damages at all. I hired Anton's to move from a house to a 2br apartment on a very, very hot Friday in July. There were 2 movers and they came exactly at the scheduled time and also gave me a quick call when they were 5 minutes away. They were completely professional, wrapping some of the more delicate furniture, navigating stairs/turns, and working around some zealous house pets. This was my first time using professional movers, and Anton's made me realize I should never again move without them! I was contacted within one minute of reaching out, was given a promotional quote that was far more competitive than the competition ($80/hr), AND I was able to move on a sunny, weekend day. I didn't even have to pay a deposit, and the booking was so easy, that a small part of me wondered whether they were actually going to show up. A few days later, Sam and Greg arrived on the dot, and were professional, gregarious, extremely efficient, and trustworthy. Everything was wrapped professionally, and unpacked at my new place two hours later, without a scratch. They were very experienced, understanding how to take apart your couch within seconds (even though it originally took you an hour to figure out how to put it together), and physically superhuman, quickly going up and down several flights of stairs on both ends of the third floor apartments, always smiling. I never felt that they were trying to overcharge or slip in any additional fees, in fact they didn't even charge for any of the packing materials they used. The only thing that was unclear was that you could either use the 3% cash discount OR the Yelp discount, not both. Still, an incredible value and service that I'm so grateful for. Needed movers short notice and they were great! Two really nice guys and a large moving truck were all I needed for a small bedroom move and they got everything done in less than 2 hours! Very efficient, careful with my belongings, courteous and affordable! They also disassembled my bed frame and shelving units and reassembled them without any problems! I was very pleased. I had a great experience with this company. After a failed attempt at using another moving company that would not confirm with me, I called Anton's and they were able to get me 2 movers to help out the next morning. They were a little late, but they called me and kept me up to date on their car trouble, giving me updated ETA. They were super efficient when they got there and packed our truck so well!
