I purchased a service agreement for $197 from these scumbags, made a scheduled appointment weeks prior for routine work, and they called me less than 24 hours prior to the appointment to cancel. They wanted to move the appointment to the morning, where I already had prior commitments, and when I couldn't I was told that "I cancelled" the work order!?! Their "Priority Scheduling" is a scam and so is their service agreement (which clearly has no value): Customers exist for their convenience only and they don't hesitate to blame the customer for the company's failures. First they moved my appointment last minute with an obvious bs excuse. Then arrived for rescheduled appointment with no mask. I'm vaccinated but it shows level of care and courtesy. Then they give me a hard sell and charged me $189 for a cleaning that couldn't have taken 30 minutes. Tech explained he had to drive out to Heber. How come I wasn't charged extra for that for the basic service? Then I was pressured to write a review for them while the tech was still there. Really? No... Sorry... Then the tech left with the AC reset to 70° and the fan on permanently. Had to get out my manual to figure out how to turn the fan off. Let's see... Our air conditioner went out on a Friday night. We called a couple other places Saturday, but they were not able to come out the same day even though their names would indicate that they could. Black Diamond had someone out that afternoon. Chris was our technician and he was very professional. He wore his booties inside. He had all the supplies we needed in his truck. I had a problem with my AC unit and it is been super hot. I had two other companies come out to fix it and both times it didn't work. Our house would get to 89 degrees in the mid afternoon. Something still was wrong. I had Black Diamond Experts come out today and within minutes they figured out the problem! Chris was the one who helped fix our AC and super friendly. Water was leaking in our basement; discovered on a Saturday. Called Black Diamond for emergency service. Plumber called, asked about the leak, and said it could probably wait until Monday; that way we wouldn't have to pay the emergency fee. I think I just didn't want to come up. But I let him talk me into waiting. It is now Monday morning and I get a call they can't come after all. I had other jobs for them--disposal and outside rain gutter. The A/C went down at my son and daughters house in Orem. I am there father and I was out of town. I told them they could call for service or wait until I got home. They called Black Diamond. I don't know if it was one tech or two. They said that they checked the unit. I had told them to have them check the capacitor. My son said that they put on a capacitor and it didn't work. The techs told them that it would cost more money to fix it than to just replace it. The following is the estimated charges note that they don't break dow labor and parts. 1. Condenser fan motor $660.00 2. Duel capacitor $ 237.00 3. Contactor 1-2 pole. $231 Total. $1,128.00 New motor cost $98,00 , capacitor is $15.00 and a contactor is $15.00. So $125 in parts. And $1,103.00 in labor. When I got home I looked at it replaced the duel capacitor and its up and running. So that leaves me with a few thought 1 the techs did not know how to diagnose properly. 2 There equipment was not working right 3 or they were not interested in fixing the unit and wanted to sell my kids a new one that they did not need My son said that they hooked up a capacitor and it didn't work. Wow. I asked for a bid to replace both water heaters at my Orem duplex. The cost of the same two water heaters at Home Depot was less than $1,000 total. They added code upgrades (inflated bid of $500). So far, so good. Then they added labor, bringing their total bid to over $4,000! Seriously??? Their excuse for the inordinately high bid? Trump's aluminum tariffs that haven't even gone into effect! They wanted $2,500+ for labor to replace two water heaters! The Home Depot direct bid was $3,000 -- nearly $1,500 less. Since we have lived in our home I have not done much with maintaining the furnace and ac unit. After my water heater went out I purchased a maintenance plan and I really like how they come check all the utilities to keep my house running smoothly. I like that they call or text before the appointment as a reminder and let me know if there is any changes to the scheduled appointment. I would recommend Black Diamond Experts to anyone. read more

I had them put in new wiring for my stove, hung a new light fixture and place a bunch of GFI's for my old house. They ran into a slight snag with the plaster walls but were able to work around it. They kept us in the loop at every turn and gave us many options before they started any work. They were pretty inexpensive and even with a few changes on the job, the bill never changed and we paid exactly what was quoted. We have a few more projects coming up and will be calling them again. Oh and unlike most companies, they cleanup their mess when done. They even cleaned up some of our dust bunnies that hid behind our furniture they had to move to get to a plug. read more

Ended up getting a second opinion and $160 later my furnace was fixed. The service was professional, but the technician found a flipped circuit breaker and a GCI button that needed to be pushed. For that, it cost me the full $199. I had other circuits that were not working, but he said I would need to pay a new service fee (I guess another $199). I placed a call to Black Diamond and they scheduled me a visit right away. Rob came out, assessed the AC unit and furnace, made a couple of adjustments, and got us back up and running within an hour! This was two days after we had another local company come out and tells us that we were in need of a complete replacement of both units!
