I really like in Yelp reviews to be careful about evaluating things relative to what they are trying to be rather than what else is out there. Is this the same level of quality and features you'd get in a $150/month gym? No... So why 5 stars? Because it's a small gym in a shopping center that's very convenient to access and provides the things that I need to have in a gym. For the price point and the convenience it's really hard to beat having access to all the cardio and weights you could need. I was there over lunch and it was not very crowded at all. By the time I left at like 1:45 I was one of maybe 3-4 people in there. No locker rooms. No problem. Standalone bathrooms for all genders have showers in them. Some small lockers available in the main area. Free weights, squat rack, two landmine attachments, tons of equipment... The 24/7 unstaffed model is really cool, and, it seems, is the only way to make a gym accessible 24/7 in this economy. Gone are the days of every 24-Hour Fitness location actually being 24 hours. (They should just change their name at this point.) The owner, Michaela, was very friendly and helped me get signed up via my gym membership plan extremely quickly. I used to go to this gym regularly but I go to the one off Independence now instead. They redid this gym and they didn't do it well. They turned all the cardio equipment so your backside faces everyone and the entry door. I'm someone who hates having my back to the door. Especially when I'm working out at night when the gym is dead. I want to be able to see who's walking in. They also repainted the weight area and it feels really dark and dreary now. There is a big tall woman that works there who isn't so nice. She yells at customers if they talk on their phones while working out. I understand it's annoying, it's bothered me before too. But there are nice ways to approach people about it. It's a bit unprofessional to approach people the way she does. I watched her yell at a woman who didn't speak English well telling her to get off her phone. It made me uncomfortable and I wasn't even the one getting yelled at! The cardio equipment isn't taken care of as well as it should be. When you run on the treadmills you can feel how the belt struggles. They need a tune up bad. Regularly the stair masters don't function properly. They fling you off them when they weren't working. I don't think the owner understands that these machines need to be tuned up every couple months not when they break or stop working. Not the best gym for the area. Conveniently located next to my families house. I have been going here regularly for the past few weeks and I am really happy. It has all the equipment I need. It also appears to be cleaned regularly. The pricing is right too. Lastly, we worked with the GM, named Maya and she was wonderful in assisting us. She helped answer any questions we had and throughly explained the many options they have for different types of membership. She was personable and professional! I cancelled my membership several months ago, due to gym demographics changing with an agreement with Silver Sneakers. The new clientele didn't clean the machines after themselves, left dirty towels on machines and threw trash on the floor. I started going after 11:00pm to avoid what I was encountering during the daytime hours, but with the hvac system turned off at night the building had a very bad odor. I cancelled after 7 years, paying my current and next month as required by Anytime Fitness terms and didn't return even when I had access for another month. The one owner Traci and the 2 managers are nice people, but the changes at the gym weren't ones I was willing to tolerate or pay for any longer. It's a shame, because the location was very convenient. 06/05/2019 I wanted to note the response to my post, I believe from Paul shows the breakdown of communication at the club, being he wasn't aware of the hygiene and hvac concerns I brought up multiple times with his wife Traci, Manager Sariah and Manager John during the 3 months prior to cancelling. Just like working out, you have to have follow through, not just talk about change, make excuses and do nothing. read more

I appreciate him reaching out and letting me know and it's great to see the staff cares! 4 stars because I love Anytime Fitness as a company. I used one in Houston that was BOMB. I recently tried getting back on track with a better lifestyle and chose to go with Anytime Fitness again. This location is about a block away from where I live so that's AWESOME. I do have 2 complaints though. 1) idk if it's me or what but I have NEVER been greeted by anyone other than a young woman that helped sign me up. I usually go around 8-11 am and idk I just haven't ever been said hi to. Maybe got a smile but that's it. The staff at the AF in Houston were always friendly. 2) the daily charge to bring a person is pretty ridiculous. My friend wanted to sign up for this gym but she wanted to go for a week then decide. $10 per day turned her away after the first day. I get you can't let just random use the gym all the time but $50 for a week is ridiculous. Overall, I totally recommend this gym, good vibes, great equipment, fair price, and amazing location! read more

Horrible. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Managers will lure you into a contract for "less money per month" but when circumstances beyond your control make it impossible to utilize your membership on a regular basis, they won't release you without a huge buyout and threats to send you to a collection agency... Really? For a gym membership? This is also one of the smallest fitness clubs I've ever been in with very little offerings and no appealing classes. The owners are fake and cheap, so they wash the towels at their house, so they are like tattered rags. The bathrooms are never properly cleaned and the entire place smells of body odor and burnt rubber. Management and "personal trainers" are inexperienced and I ended up injured for a week after my "free fitness assessment". Get your cardio in by running far, far away from this dump! read more

We joined this gym in 2016 and have often had problems with the TV's on the treadmills being inoperable or full of static. In addition, there is often nobody on-site to take care of problems, take new member applications, or to take cancellation notices. Even though we were members for over two years, it took us several months to cancel, as nobody was around the first several times we went in to cancel. We finally dropped our key fobs in their mailbox in frustration and only then did they call us, making us come in and fill out an application to cancel before allowing us to do so, and then charging us an additional 30 day cancellation fee even though we had not been in the gym to exercise in several months while still paying the full fees due to being unable to cancel. read more

I left this Gym and came back because Of convenience of the Gym. I live in a gated community just down the street. I love this gym the owner Tracy is great and yes there's a big but. I agree with many of the comments here I've spoken to the workers here and have been told big changes are coming but I still have not seen any of them. Many of the machines have reached the end of their life and truly need to be replaced. I asked when the smaller cable pull down machine (Precore) will be replaced I even gave a recommendation online about one with arms that move up and down in and out to accommodate many positions which i use often and this machine is a must and have heard nothing from anyone. This machine sticks and stops then the weight drops it's not safe and could actually hurt you if you had a lot of weight on when it jerked on you. The ab machine is gone and had tape on it from about a week ago. I really think that if your doing something you need to be more communicative with everyone and let them know what's happening. I'm the head of the HOA for my community and I was told they need that from me. And I agreed with them so to help get you where you should be I would say use this as a way to communicate with everyone and let us know what's going on. I think better placement of machines would be good as well. This could be the most fantastic place because you have good people. I joined Anytime Fitness in December mainly because it's convenient to home, and i wasn't utilizing the gym membership of the big, fancy gym I wasn't going to. I love coming here - it's rarely crowded, I'm always greeted when i come in, it's super clean and the equipment is in top shape. They recently upgraded the number of available channels on the cardio equipment. An added bonus is that it seems to draw a clientele that clean up after themselves and are conscientious. No loud cell phone talkers and leaving towels lying around for someone else to pick up. People actually wipe the machines down after using them. It's the small things, but that makes me happy. I don't really enjoy working out, but I do like going to Anytime Fitness. read more

Anytime Fitness has been a really great investment for me! I chose it initially because of the location but was immediately sold on the small feel, awesome customer service (a trainer/employee is almost always available to answer questions), variety/quality of equipment, the hours, and the safety precautions they have in case I ever feel uncomfortable. I love this location --the equipment is well kept and clean. There's also a sense of community at this place. You can tell that the owners take pride in their business because you'd see them there during off hours cleaning and taking care of the gym. Staff members Sariah and John are amazing and provide the best customer service. They were able to turn my bad sign-up experience at a different location to a great one when I transferred my membership here. The owners are also very welcoming and easily accessible should you need to contact them for anything. Overall, I enjoy my experience at this gym so far. One of the only clubs that the staff genuinely cares about you. They offer to help, even if you are not in a training session or class. I'd give Anytime Fitness five stars but, man, I have to force myself to exercise. I love the business model and quality consistency of Anytime Fitness. We've gone to several in two cities and every one has been equally excellent in every aspect of what they offer. I'd never heard of them until a friend of my husband told him she was working with a great trainer there. We joined and worked with her. Their trainers are not the pleasant, nice "trainers" at other gyms with minimal "training." The woman we worked with knew when to power through and when to drop back so I could put myself in her hands and concentrate. They are squeaky clean. They have excellent security systems. Awesome gym - straight up no gimmicks membership and truly great staff! I was so pleased to find this gym and the level of trainers - incomparable to the big gym one size fits all trainers I've experienced in the past. Well educated on anatomy and core strengthening exercises to push hard and safely train and increase strength and endurance. I'm 65 this year and the battles of training are different than when I was 35- but I find a wide range of ages at the gym and everyone working out at their own level in a friendly supportive non-invasive atmosphere. I started going to this gym at the beginning of February 2015 and I have to say, it was one of the best choices I've made so far gym wise. I love the fact that everyone is so friendly and courteous. I love this place! After 12 years of yoga, I realized I wasn't getting enough cardio and started going to the gym. At first, it was hard to get started. I'd walk around and look at the weight equipment and cardio machines thinking "yikes!" After just a few months, I've developed a routine that I love, and I actually look forward to going to the gym. My body is leaner, and I feel good. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable about the equipment and fitness in general. They don't pester you while you are working out, but they always greet you by name, so you know that they are there to help you if you ever need help. There are TVs on the cardio machines, so the time goes by quickly. Clean, good-looking gym with 24-hour access. Great place! read more

Signed up for a 14 day trial online. I have an email confirming this. Shelby called to schedule 7 day pass. Showed up and was told not only do I not get a 14 day trial because that location doesn't honor it but I don't get a 7 day trial either because I don't live within 10 miles of the location. Actually if you MapQuest my home address (which I had to enter in order to get pass) I'm 9.2 miles away. I picked that location because it's on my way home from work. I picked Anytime fitness because I'm moving in July and you have a location in Kyle. I was told I could have a 1 day pass and the passes are saved for serious people who live within 10 miles of gym. I'm somewhat biased because I live literally down the block - 5 min walk gets me here. So it's super convenient! I'm working with a trainer named Leda Blas, who is the best trainer I've ever had. I've had trainers at Bally Total Fitness almost 20 yrs ago, the Q (late 90s), and 24 Hr Fitness about 10 years ago. She is much more knowledgeable regarding making a game plan, especially for those with flexibility issues & past injuries (like myself). Jacob Purdom is another excellent trainer there & who also has an extensive list of certifications. I highly recommend getting sessions from them! It's not cheap, but what price do you put on your health? It will change your life! It's significantly changed my outlook on a psychological level- I've been overweight since 1991, & for the first time in forever, I feel confident I can regain my health! Also Shelbye, the manager who works up front, is very friendly, caring, and will treat you and your guests like first class citizens! She's given me very helpful nutritional advice and has encouraged me a lot in my fitness goals. This is a great place to work out! read more
