The spa staff are also so kind and I got one of the best facials I have ever had before at the spa.I'm obsessed with all the classes they have available including hot yoga, barre, and orange theory type class. I love they have daycare for my little one and they host so many social events. It's kind of like a country club without the golf course. It's also a great place to get your work done if you don't have an office or a noisy household. The reasons I had to give 4 instead of 5 stars are they do not let infants be there longer than 1 hour and you have to reserve which is fine but if you take a class you can't finish the whole class and be back in time to get your kiddo. Also the slots for infant care fill up a week in advance on the weekends. Classes are amazing but if you miss they take attendance and email you with a slap on the wrist which I understand but you can't cancel if it's within 2 hours of the class. With all that said, this is probably one of the best gyms I have ever been to and is a great place for families. They have tons of social events as well with awesome photos ops and great drinks.

My daughter loves the pools and enjoys the child care well enough that I don't feel guilty when needing her entertained for a quick sanity-driving spin class. If they doubled their spin and yoga class offerings, they'd get that 5th start--often full and not many options for times. We're really lucky to have such a wellness-minded, family-focused space in our neighborhood, especially since the price point is still manageable.

I'm sharing this for safety reasons…read more During a squat session a few months back, I told my trainer that my back was hurting during the squats. Despite this, I was instructed to complete another set. During that final set, I injured my back badly enough that I could not walk afterward. At no point was the exercise stopped, reduced, or modified when I reported pain. I still can't squat, my back isn't fully recovered. Afterward, communication was disappointing. When my husband and I later explained that we needed to pause training due to finances, we received no response. Regardless of certification or experience level, a trainer should prioritize client safety, listen when pain is reported, and communicate professionally. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Update: After posting this review, the trainer contacted me and offered me money to take my review down. Since he can't contact me he reached out to my husband regarding my review. I am adding this update for transparency.

I was recommended by a friend to try Fitness 1 due to the quality of equipment as well as the old school atmosphere. The communication with Chad prior to visiting was great. He welcomed me when I came in and showed me around the gym, explaining how it was laid out and where I can find certain pieces of equipment. This included equipment like the pendulum squat, which can't be found in most commercial gyms. He also showed me where much of the power lifting equipment was and even discussed the childcare. I spent the next 90 minutes using amazing equipment such as Rogue, Precor, and my personal favorite, Arsenal. The culture in the gym was great. Everyone was working towards their own personal goals, all while supporting and assisting each other. They were even being spotters for others in the gym who they did not know, but supported nevertheless. Other gymgoers were not playing on their phones or hanging out in the gym, showing they were all there for a reason. After a good 90 minute workout, I went back and spoke to Chad. I told him I wanted to get a membership, paying for an entire year up front. Chad was able to do all this without pressuring me at all, which seems to be uncommon in the gym world. He lets the gym and the culture the staff at Fitness 1 has created, along with others in the gym, sell the product. All of this came with no hidden fees, which is just icing on the cake. Fitness 1 is a hidden "gym" in the fitness industry. It is an example of what all gyms should be and should be mirrored.

On the plus size this gym is much bigger than the Sunnyslope location and has newer equipment and more equipment. The treadmills have little built in fans, which is super nice. Plus the weight machines count your reps (the ones that work). Also I love the stretching cage -- they don't have that at Sunnyslope. My son loves this location better too and I feel more comfortable dropping him off here at night to work out -- the Sunnyslope location is pretty sketch, especially at night. The downside of this location IMO -- I don't like the setup of the cardio machines -- it puts your back to the door/windows and there are only mirrors on certain walls. Also this morning, two of the TVs in front of the treadmills were not working -- this is annoying because the TV that was working was on FOX which I can't stand to watch and the TVs are also spaced our further than Sunnyslope and there are less TVs too. I don't watch a ton of TV but when I am the treadmill for an hour I need something to pay attention to because I get so bored! The other thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the treadmills don't have handles that angle up for gripping -- it is just one bar and it is not as natural to hold on to. That being said, I likely will come back to this location again since it is cleaner and I love the stretching cage!!

This is the only remaining ab machine and today for 20 minutes I had one person on it. I had no other one to use that supports my back. I have trouble getting up and down off the floor. While other machines were shown to me to use this one works best. And there is only 1 in the club?? They removed my pull down ab one and didn't leave great options. Right now both hydrobeds don't work. The lounger is occupied and you can see several machines are down. Not acceptable.
