I have a complaint that needs to be addressed. It's not with any staff as they are great but with the machines that were removed which I had used 5 days a week. This is the only remaining ab machine and today for 20 minutes I had one person on it. I had no other one to use that supports my back. I have trouble getting up and down off the floor. While other machines were shown to me to use this one works best. And there is only 1 in the club?? They removed my pull down ab one and didn't leave great options. Right now both hydrobeds don't work. The lounger is occupied and you can see several machines are down. Not acceptable. read more

Not the best gym we've been to. We prefer the gym on 83rd Ave in Peoria. Haven't been in a couple years, gave up our membership just because of the drive time. With the population boom in North Phoenix I would think they would consider a gym in the vicinity of Anthem or the 303 and I-17. What would it take for this to happen??? read more

I've been going to this Planet Fitness location for a while and always appreciated how chill and helpful the staff are--most of them are super cool and respectful. That said, I had a really frustrating experience recently that left a bad taste in my mouth. Dean (or Philip--not sure which one) kicked me out mid-workout for not wearing "athletic shoes," even though I've worked out in the exact same shoes many times before with no issue. They weren't open-toe or unsafe, and every other employee I've talked to has only mentioned that open-toe shoes are a problem, which mine were not. It felt inconsistent, unfair, and honestly disrespectful to be treated that way out of nowhere. If there's a specific policy, it should be applied evenly--not just when one person decides to enforce it differently. Disappointed in how it was handled. Been very happy for years with PF through insurance. Insurance canceled the coverage so I decided to join and pay myself. I got an email waiving the enrollment fee, so I went in to sign up and work out. I was charged the 49.99 for enrolling, they said it was waived only if I did it on line. Four days later I get a late notice for $35, it's only $15 per month. I was told the enrollment fee went through my credit card but the monthly fee went through my checking acct. They had the wrong number for my checking acct. So after 4 days the late fee was $20 for a $15 cost. I canceled. read more

Rachel was one of the rudest customer service reps. That I have encountered in a great while. I was invited as a guest by a member who swore after going for a week to this center that I would want to become a member. I wanted to give it a try. Well my friend was running 15 minutes late and Rachel rudely, with a condescending attitude said that I could not come in without the member being here. I can appreciate that point but what I could not accept is her extremely rude approach. You will lose business with her lack of professional customer service. You attract clientale with courteous front office staff. I will tell all my friends and family about her terrible approach and of her lack of proper customer service training . I'm giving this location a 1 star rating because the staff turned me away after checking in. I was going all week with no problem and unfortunately today was different. I downgraded to the basic membership and wasn't made aware that I can only go to an assigned location. It's unfortunate because I'm only 3mins away and I have to drive to 51st and bell to workout now. I understand the rules are clear cut it just would've been nice to get a courtesy visit this time so I can figure out how to change my membership again. I tried upgrading my membership and no one seems to know why it can't be done. I tried online, via app, at the location and also called customer service line with no success. Still waiting for someone to assist in getting it done. Also, sites should have a trainer as per app and website and they have none. I go to this planet fitness a lot and recently I've been going to this location later at night and the midnight employees absolutely have no idea what they our doing. Worked out went to tan and lady doesn't know what she's doing. Doesn't ask me any questions. I tell her I wanted 7 minutes to get ready and 5 to tan. Simple stuff and she fully didn't know how to. The tanning booths are tiny. Does not leave any room for a table or a chair. Just tiny add rooms. Their equipment is all over the place compared to the other planet fitness in the area. Equipment is also very limited. Lifting section barely has any bars because there's people constantly at them because they don't have enough room lol.. This location is probably one of the worst. I join planet fitness at 2015 Birch Rd chula vista ca 91915 after about a year i decided that I wanted to cancel my account , I went into the gym on 08-28-22 and informed them of this , they said they would cancel the account but I would still have to pay my annual fee which is $30 even though I would not be using the club or will be a member for the coming year , they told me this still has to be paid because I should have cancel it the month before , I am not yet billed for the year , but they told me I would be billed sometime in september even though i wont be using the gym I spoke with the manager at the club who told me she cant cancel the billing , she gave me the district managers name Brian campos who was not very helpful and rude also gave me the wrong phone number to his boss , and when i called him back for the correct number he would not take the call or call me back , so I had to call the club again to get Brian campos managers name who is Alex Keegan who told me that he cant stop the billing thats coming and that the corporate office wont be able to stop it either and that nobody and the company can help, I called the corporate office and and there was a recording pointing me back to the local Gym for help which they are no help at all I would not recomend Planet Fitness , based on bad customer service . read more

I think I was there about a week. I've cancelled now. I don't think they train their employees well enough, then leave them to work alone to try and figure out how to work tanning beds, etc. I'm not the only one who has had these problems. As soon as I mention this to someone who has been with any PF location long enough, you hear their stories of how the tanning bed never comes on. I've been to other gyms with tanning and never had that problem. This was my last shot with PF. They've made enough off of me and at this point I feel they owe me for all of the times they have messed up. read more

I like this club in general, but I really think I'm gonna have to quit because it is so cold in there. I can't even run on the treadmill's.. I have to wear a jacket to work out . Great new machines, staff was super helpful (Leslie, I think his name was) - helped me move over my location as well as, spent quality time acquainting my friend with amenities, answering any and all questions before she signed up. This is definitely one the best Planet Fitness I've ever been to. What's awesome is the fact that almost all the machines give you a way to raise the weights by 2.5lbs. Not only that but most of the machines have timers which are great for people like me since I almost never have to take out my phone to manually track my rest between sets. All squat/bench racks are assisted. There isn't much people who go here so it's never crowded; the weekends are the best time to come. Unlike other Planet Fitnesses that I've been to, this place has a perk system in which you accumulate points just by checking in; it allows you to get some free stuff. The staff is all pretty friendly too. The only bad thing is that when the machines are faulty for whatever reason, there is only a 50% chance that the staff will fix it when you tell them of the problems. read more

I have been a member since this location opened in 2014. I always enjoy being able to catch up on the news when I am doing cardio. I noticed my last few visits that there and been no news on. I asked the guy at the front desk why that was, and he said that people complained that they do not want to watch the news because "there is too much going on in the world". I asked what about what the rest of the membership thinks. He said that more people complained about the news being on than have complained since it has gone off. Huh?! People are supposed to complain about something they do not know is an issue?? What about surveying the membership to see what they want? Now I'm stuck watching infomercials and cooking shows. Maybe time to shop around for a gym that does not cater to the whiners. :) read more

This gym has been a life saver for me. During stressful times, I can always count on the staff to be caring and nice. The staff makes this gym top notch. Plenty of workouts here, more for stress relief than anything else. Cardio equipment is always available which is a huge plus. Plenty of equipment to put in a good workout without skipping any body part. Massage chairs, tanning, everything you need is here. This gym holds sentimental value for me, it's always been great for fitness, for stress therapy and for beauty purposes. Check out this gym, you won't regret it. read more

THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE LEFT ME FEELING HORRIBLE. DO NOT GO TO PLANET FITNESS!!! I came in to cancel my contract b/c of the mask guidelines that the company put in place upon reopening. I do not agree with the mask requirement and I refuse to divulge my personal health information to employees for a wellness check every time I come in because, frankly, it's no ones business but my own. These new guidelines go against my fundamental beliefs and my rights as an American citizen. However, when I informed the front desk associate of all of this, I was told to either put on a mask or leave the premises, EVEN THOUGH, I had just told him it goes AGAINST MY BELIEFS. My attempts to get him to work with me were completely disregarded and his excuse was that it's a government mandate, however, the mandate also states that if wearing a mask goes against your religious beliefs or you have a health issue, you do not have to wear one. He did nothing but tell me to leave and call his manager in the morning. My only other option of cancellation was to use some antiquated snail mail system. The whole experience left me feeling horrible. If gyms ever get back to normal (ie: no masks or employees prying into your personal health history) I will NEVER go back to Planet Fitness again. Pleasant experience here & the staff was friendly. Didn't get the person's name but one gentleman was really personable & helpful in particular. I'd never been to this location as I'm new to planet fitness (been a long while since I last had a gym membership) & they have different systems in place compared to the Flagstaff location for selecting the black card section things. They got me set up quickly in the system & showed me the basics of how to utilize the red light full body machine which was appreciated. The facility was clean & seemed well kept. I'm still sore from working out the other day so just enjoyed the massage chair & red light thing today. Woke up far too early today, & me being a very not-morning person lol, this was a decent way to start my day. Recommend. read more

Price is good, but this is the first week open and some of the equipment is already not working. Either they are giving error codes on start up or the earphone jacks don't work. The workout machines have earphone jacks to listen to the TVs that are on, but I had to hop around to a few different machines to find one that worked. The first machine kept giving me an error message and won't calculate anything. The second machine's sound was so crackly I could understand the News channel and it kept resetting the TV station that I was listing to to TV #1 every few minutes. As I was not a black card member, I couldn't try out their HydroMassage tables or red light therapy rooms, but the locker rooms were nice. And the staff seems eager to help. So, for the cost, hours (24/7), location and facilities I will give it 4 stars. But, 1 star taken for malfunctioning equipment within the first week. read more

The new equipment is great but there was a really rude manager there the other day who wouldn't allow me to tan without eye protect and was super politically correct and nerdy about it and it drove me nuts. I said "how many of your members here actually have eye protection" and he said "all of them do. Starting today. It's a state law you have to have eye protection" and I clapped back and said "it's also a state law you have to provide it" and he said I was lying. Long story short I called the other bell location, we laughed at this annoying manager and this other manager told me I was right and that all PF locations have single one time use sticky "goggles" for free...because they legally have to provide it. They also switched all the machines and rooms around so I felt like a lost puppy in there the other day lol but I'll learn my way around it again. read more

I come here because it's the closest gym to my house, but snoooze fest!!!! How is anyone supposed to be motivated in this environment?? Not sure, but the lights are so low I walk in and want to curl up on one of the ab machines and take a nap rather than work out. Wouldn't hurt to turn the music up either. The place is clean and neat every time I come, but If you're looking for a motivating environment, this is not it. They could use to get rid of some of the millionnn cardio machines they have and add a little Astro turf area for walking lunges, floor ladder exercises, etc. *yawn* read more

Pathetic from front staff customer relation. Each front staff have different set of rules. So a member and a guest comes in. Rules are different depending on who's in front of you. One morning staff even said. Guests are not allowed to use the restroom, only members. But like I said. It differs depending on the front desk person. Gym Equipment is good. If I could give zero stars I would. The staff at this location is especially skilled at rudeness, especially the Hispanic girl with pink hair. Ever since i moved my membership to this location I have had nothing but issues with my billing and every time this little b*tch is working and I try to get the issues sorted out I am discriminated against by her because I am white and not Hispanic. I had my latest encounter with her today which sent me to the ER with a major panic attack. I have contacted my attorney and the police and will be charging her with assault and contacting the EEOC for discrimination charges. I am done with PF and will be joining LA Fitness. When you go to a gym as part of your physicians recommended treatment plan for medical issues and then some snotty liitle 20 something aggrevates that condition by causing more anxiety because of her rude treatment, yelling and attitude then its time to leave that facility and start legal action. read more

This is my home gym. I like that they have the no judgement policy. Let's individuals like myself feel good about going to be more healthy. I see many people there older and younger. Sometimes they get very busy but I have not been when I have not been able to get a work out done. The staff seems friendly but the reason I did not give 5 stars is they could do a better job explaining how to use some of the equipment. Just an updated from 2 years ago. In a nutshell this is just an overall great gym. As a gym rat who has been around a while, you just can't beat this place. And for the price... it's a no brainer. I've been to a few of the Planet Fitness locations (you can go to any of them if you are in that part of town), and they all pretty much rock. They are SUPER CLEAN which is NOT the norm in this industry, and definitely not the norm at any LA Fitness. The staff is just fine. I usually get a "hi" or a smile when I come in. I've never had a problem with any of them. I imagine just like any other place they get their share of dopey kids who work there, but ALL kids at that age (and that generation) are pretty dopey. I've certainly never had anyone rude. But if you are a young 'thang' and you are looking for a gym to cruise, look hot, and flirt... then go to LA Fitness. We don't want you here anyway. read more
