Gyms finally opened up in September and when i go back he says we only have a month left!! He told me basically its to bad and best he can do is give me an extra month (1 outta 6). Serious clientele, everybody re-racks their weights, excellent uncrowded layout, friendly management. Can't recommend highly enough. N.B., this is NOT a "fitness center", it's a serious (but friendly) gym for weightlifting & bodybuilding. Also probably not a good place to discuss politics.

The exercises are different everyday, but the kindness and support from the trainers are always the same. They make you feel like you can keep going and truly lift you up. The owner Phil genuinely cares about his members and their success, as does his amazing staff. Dustin has been my Primary Trainer for 6 weeks, and is so in tune with his clients, and goes above and beyond what is expected of him. I take the Burn, Semi-Private, and Spin classes, and have learned so much, and have had so much fun, and have worked harder than I ever thought I could. I am indebted to everyone at Powerhouse Gym Lake Orion for making me feel so welcome, for pushing me, encouraging me, and always treating me with care and respect. This workout is exactly the kind I look forward to. All movements are targeted, intentional, and do not strain your joints, as you are actively working against your own body weight. There is an instructor for every personality and ability but my favorite is Karlie. She wants to know everyone's name and if you have anything that would require modification. She consistently reminds you of your breath work and why it's important. Membership can be on the pricier side but it's the only workout I know I will stick to.

I appreciated that the front desk and shopping area was separated by a door, so the studio where you work out was more private. Class wasn't interrupted by front desk answering phone or greeting a member like it has been at other studios. Plenty of space to store your stuff during class. Studio was also clean. Music was good and at a good volume. Equipment was in excellent condition. Class was just challenging enough for a Level 1. Sometimes I'm worried it'll be too easy when I go down a level (I'm experienced with Pilates), but it wasn't too easy. I'll be back here for more classes!!
