It's such a small class and the other people were very supportive of me. It was my 1st time there and I wasn't able to keep up with the rest of the class. They were very great about cheering me on and encouraging me to stick with it. I made it through and felt good about myself. If you want to get a good work out in, I definitely encourage you to check out D1. We had a nice warm up session then got right into lifting. We had 3 rounds of 3 exercises then we move on to another set of exercises so you get to work out several different muscle groups. It's not timed so you move at your own pace but don't move too slow. Usually everyone finishes at about the same time then we all collectively move on to the next group of exercises. Stick with it and push through so you're not slowing the class down as a whole. There are plenty of weight options so start where you are comfortable. I wasn't able to lift the 45 lbs chest press bar so I opted for the 25 pound bar and added weights each round. I felt good and the end of class and I will definitely come back.

The studio struck me as rather large, which could just be because I have done most of my yoga classes in NYC and DC. The lobby/waiting area was large and spacious -- even bigger than the studio itself. Plenty of space to relax and get ready for class, which was nice. We attended a Sunday afternoon beginner ashtanga class with Jimmy. I thought the class moved a little fast to truly be called a beginner class, but luckily I have enough yoga experience that it wasn't an issue. Prior to this time I was an avid gym goer, a runner, and crossfitter, trained by the most fabulous coaches that knew me best and still do! I came here during the time frame above, paid for full membership $150 and only had 3 sessions. I had no prior medical condition's except neck injury from Jan 2012 from a car accident during my first semester of nursing school. During these 3 sessions I was just doing as I was coached. However, my body didn't feel right while doing the movements, when I corrected to the proper movements that I was trained with before the coach said "Do it our way." Further, during a WOD one of the movements was diamond push-ups, I said "I have never done diamond push-ups," coach said "Just do it anyway, gravity will get you down." So I thought to myself well maybe he is right and on the other hand I have never done this before so how do I know I can't if I don't try. NEVER EXPECTING THIS: December 5th, 2014 I called the coach and explained my back is not too good at so I may not be attending for awhile something isn't right, further said though I was just unloading dishes and something must of popped. WANT TO KNOW WHY I TOLD THE COACH IT WAS THE FRIDGE, CAUSE I WANTED MY MONEY BACK, WHICH DID HAVING TO PROVIDE A DOCTOR NOTE. December 6,2014 in the 8am my legs were paralyzed, and I was rushed to hospital, stayed overnight and on December 7, 2014 I failed the physical therapy evaluation and doctor said "I heard you have a final exam tomorrow for nursing school, and I am trusting you will use proper body mechanics forever that you were taught because one wrong move and you never walk again." I was in physical therapy to gain my strength which comes from the Lord as well until the end of March 2015. Here I am tonight and as of now I can only do physical therapy exercises only, no gym anywhere, light cardio, and Krav Maga in order to defend myself if needed with the injury I have forever only activity allowed. I have been blessed since I can still do my passion to care for people with my nursing degree which I'll have December 2016. I CAUTION ANYONE TO ATTEND CROSSFIT HERE. JUST A HEADS UP.

I was a "first-timer" to CrossFit and was quite impressed with the staff's ability to help me learn proper beginner techniques, while also providing an intense (WOD: Workout Of The Day) to their advanced members. Essentrics and Cardio classes offer FG members the opportunity to take a break from CrossFit and experience the benefits of other styles of exercise. Overall, First Generation CrossFit is a fantastic option for people who want to workout in a community environment.

Our church was planning a retreat and this place one of top three locations. After some financial…read moreanalysts and group meetings, decision was made to hold our retreat here. This center has one large building, which is like a dorm style. The surrounding is beautiful and I must admit, its one asset they have that's a selling point. Like a retreat planning, a site visit is a must and unfortunately, we weren't able to do a site visit, had we done a site visit, then I think we would have reconsidered our decision. Per contract, someone was supposed to contact me a month prior to start of our retreat... so when I didn't hear from them with two weeks to our retreat date, I called and I was informed that they had emailed me with the information. Well, since I didn't receive the email, I asked them to resend it, the next day I called and informed them I again did not receive it, they sent it to my work and it came through. To be honest, if you haven't heard from your customer in so many number of days, wouldn't you want to call them and check to ensure the email was received?? Some things that I did not like about the facilities - The facility is little older then other retreat centers that I have been too. The bathrooms only had one shower each and additional showers were located on the first floor, they need more lights on the 1st floor.. - dining time, you are only allotted 30 minutes to eat... talk about rushing people in and out... I'm sure they had their reasons, but we should at least be given 45 minutes (oh and I didn't know the 30 min policy until I got there). - I asked for an overhead screen, they didn't inform me there would be a charge... so yeah, $15 charge was added. - if you have one person stay in a double room, they will charge you higher fee, even though you had the rooms blocked. Overall, while the staff were friendly, not sure if I would recommend Colombiere Center for next years retreat... but I do urge everyone to do a site visit.
