A Transformative Pilates Experience with Maria at Club Pilates Longmont!…read more I can't say enough great things about Club Pilates in Longmont, especially about the incredible instructor Maria! From the moment class began, Maria exuded a warm, professional energy that immediately put everyone at ease. Her guidance was spot-on -- she provided clear, thoughtful cues that helped me really connect with each movement, and consistently reminded us to focus on our breath work, which made a huge difference in how I felt during and after class. The workout itself was the perfect balance -- challenging yet totally achievable. I left feeling stronger, more grounded, and completely invigorated. Maria has a gift for making everyone feel supported, regardless of experience level. Her attention to detail and encouraging style pushed me to go just a little further, without ever feeling overwhelmed. I have been working with Tal Cohen as my personal trainer since June of this year. I also attend…read moreher Saturday morning class. I had previously worked with another trainer however I found myself becoming bored with the same old exercises with additional reps added on periodically. Working with Tal is fun. Tal knows tons of exercises and knows different variations to do the basic exercise. Just a bit different, perhaps a different angle that targets those muscles that aren't activated during the "normal" way of doing an exercise. Tal incorporates Yoga and isometrics into my workouts as well. I like the idea of "multi tasking" and Tal has incorporated this concept into many of the exercises she has me do. For example, instead of doing simple bicep curls with hand weights she will have me do bicep curls and squats simultaneously. Or she may challenge by balance during a simple exercise. It's like getting two for the price of one! It maximizes your workout, that's for sure. However, she is always cognoscente that at age 58 I have my physical issues. She doesn't expect me to do an exercise I think may hurt my bad shoulders or my lower back. But she has given me exercises that have strengthened my shoulders and lower back without aggravating anything. That's not to say Tal doesn't push me, she challenges me in a safe way I am very comfortable with. I feel stronger and healthier than I ever have, but what's really fun is when people say, "You've been working out. I can tell." I have a flatter tummy and great arm definition. I never in my life have had either. And muscles in my legs! I haven't had a chance to get bored, and I really enjoy the time I spend with Tal working out. It's a great way to start my day. She is a friendly, caring, supportive person who happens to be extremely well educated in exercise and is dedicated to continually expanding her knowledge of the workings of the human muscles.

Tal Cohen is an ideal personal trainer for me. I wanted to add some strength, flexibility and…read morebalance elements to the swimming, kayaking and walking that I was already doing. I knew that just using the weight machines (which I enjoy) wasn't enough, so I asked the Fitness Director at the Longmont Recreation Center who she'd recommend for a couple of sessions. I explained that I needed a good match, because I had had a training session with someone who made me feel less than bright, which meant I didn't return, and I've taken kayak lessons from people who made me want to whack them with my paddle. I went on to explain I don't learn physical things easily, which makes me irrationally, immaturely cranky and that doesn't make me happy with myself, either. She laughed and suggested Tal Cohen. Tal is just right for me. She is low-key, almost neutral. She didn't say, "Oh, wow, you're going to start working out at your age; that's wonderful!" Nor did she say, "Hum, weird, you just did that exercise on your right side and you don't remember what to do now that you've rolled over?" She just asked what I hoped to get out of the sessions and explained clearly why people need more than the weight machines. What she did do is say, repeatedly, "If it hurts, let me know. There are lots of ways to work muscles and I'll find exercises that are right for you." That put me at ease in the beginning, because I thought I needed to baby one knee and my lower back clicked alarmingly during some floor work. She also never made me feel uncoordinated or foolish. I know I looked pretty hopeless a lot of the time, but with her calm pointers it never bothered me. For me that has been wonderful. As the first couple of weeks were ending I moved into a longer-range commitment. This is what I said after five months: "I work with Tal two times a week. Since I started my balance is much better, my flexibility has improved, I am stronger, I can duplicate physical actions she shows me more easily, and I am so proud of myself. Some days we still do exercises that make me look silly because I don't have the coordination, or balance or strength, but I know I'm doing things my body needs to stay active and I don't care. Other days most of the exercises seem familiar and I feel like an athlete; that's awesome!" More than four years later I am still working out with Tal. As my abilities developed she commented on the improvements in subtle ways. When she says I've improved, she's believable because she's specific and she's not effusive; I have confidence in her because I feel her evaluations are honest. I like that she's confident in her teaching abilities. She recognizes that she instinctively tailors what she's teaching to different abilities and different learning styles. She can think of an incredible number of ways to work what needs working; a session with her is not a routine and it's never boring! She also keeps a mental record of what we've done and what needs extra work during the next session. She values my feedback, for example when I say, "Let's to that again; that feels like it's something I especially need to work on." I have also enjoyed getting to know her personally. She's definitely "at work" when she's training--it's not time to chat like girls at lunch--but she shares bits about her life and listens to bits about mine to just the right extent. We're in a mentor-client relationship, but I feel like I've gained a friend, too.

The owners are real people running a locally owned business, and offering GREAT service to their customers! They don't have all of the bells and whistles of the larger and more corporate trampoline/ninja parks, but the experience was just as enjoyable for our family! I have three boys and a girl aged 16 to 6. They are in gymnastics and are self-taught in Ninja obstacles. At first, the staff hesitated to allow my kids to try the advanced ninja obstacles (because it was our first time there), but communicated that clearly and considerately, while eventually giving them a chance to "prove themselves" under proper supervision. I appreciated their genuine concern for my kids' safety, while still being willing to cater to their desire to challenge themselves. My boys also appreciated the staff catering to them so they could enjoy the experience even more! Warrior Playground appears on the Colorado "Get Out Pass" which gets you a free session at the playground during Open Gym time on certain days.

Locker rooms only have one bathroom but there are 2 showers and lockers to use. My friends and I have gone there to take the zumba class that is offered in the upstairs studio every Tues evenings from 6-7pm. It's an awesome class and the teacher, Rhyann, is fantastic!!! I am NOT a dancer and am NOT coordinated at all and definitely have no rhythm BUT I have sooooo much fun in this class that I don't care that I look like a total spaz jumping around the room! The music is energetic and uplifting and Rhyann has really fun routines for each song....AND it is a total workout! I am totally sweating and tired but full of energy after each class (she also teaches at our work gym)....she never makes you feel silly and is always encouraging. Rhyann also changes up the class by introducing new music/routines in so you are never bored...and she is always open to suggestions and ideas.....5 stars for the zumba class! Studio is a little on the small side so it's good for smaller classes, like 10 people, since you MOVE during class....but you have mirrors on 2 sides (since it looks like it's used for dance/ballet as well), so you can see every silly shaking move you make! So, I would highly recommend trying the zumba class out at least once...just to try it! I never thought I would love it as much as i do when I first agreed to try it with a friend :) You can also check out the gym while you are at it...but the zumba classes are separate from the gym itself so you don't need a membership to drop in :)

Absolutely love this gym! It may look a bit small, but they make very efficient use of the space,…read morewith more treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, rowers, and stair-steppers than I've seen at much bigger gyms. All without feeling cramped. The free weights and weight machines can be difficult to get a hold of during peak times--but honestly, that is a problem at every gym. I go before 4 p.m. and rarely have any problems. The clientele is also pretty considerate--I've yet to see people just sitting at a machine watching a 20-minute TV show on their phone, or bros slamming their weights onto the ground before strutting around, expecting you to move out of their way. The restrooms are cleaned frequently, with large locker rooms and showers. Two bottle-filling water stations are available, the TVs play a variety of cable channels, and the free Wi-Fi is plenty fast if you don't have an unlimited cellular plan. Ample parking in the shopping center. They do play their own music, but it isn't so loud that I need to crank up my headphones like I've had to at other gyms. Membership is $10/month, unfortunately only payable by direct debit from your checking account. Combined with the $49 annual fee, it comes out to $169/year. Very affordable. They do charge a $49 signup fee ($10 when I joined), but run frequent promotions that either waive it or lower it to $1 (particularly around the new year). I missed one of those by just a few days, but Chris, the manager, kindly waived it for me. He, along with the rest of the staff, has been great. Always friendly! Three minor downsides: 1) The equipment can take a long time (months) to get fixed when it breaks. Fortunately, so far that has only applied to equipment for which they have spares. When there is only one machine available it has been fixed within 2-3 weeks. I guess that is to be expected with a low membership fee. 2) I wouldn't mind if they switched to individual wipes rather than spray bottles for cleaning the equipment. I'm sure that is also a cost thing, but people can be pretty reckless when spraying. The worst has been when some lady randomly "tested" the spray bottle and doused my entire arm as I walked by. 3) The club is no longer open 24 hours on weekends. That hasn't been an issue for me, but some people have been bothered by it. Finally, two small requests: When the time comes for upgrades/replacements, please consider cardio machines that integrate with Apple GymKit. I also wouldn't mind if you replaced a treadmill or two (and/or ellipticals) with stair-steppers in the future. Thank you!

Gross and noisy. Few people wipe down the machines when they are done including the in-club trainer…read morewho should know better and should be teaching better habits. I got a fungal infection on my forearm after using a machine with arm pads. Most people just walk away from machines after they use it, no cleaning, so I have to spray them down before and after so I don't get their germs. Also machines are frequently wobbly or have loose parts. The staff seems to ignore complaints even when I give the machine number and the specific problem, they just say that a mechanic will get to it. Weeks can go by after I inform staff before anything is done.
