Some local businesses actually work with Assault Fitness to train their employees on site multiple times a week. Welcoming environment that is encouraging and always challenging! Zach makes sure everyone is working with good form, which I really appreciate as someone who has had previous injuries at similar "popular name" gyms where they just want you to go fast and do as many reps as possible no matter if you're ready or not. He helps people modify as needed, and no matter the skill level, no one is left behind or stands out - it's true group fitness in that it feels like everyone's in it together, though there is also personal training available as well! It's motivating but not cheesy or gimmicky - something else I really appreciate as an alternative to the big name group fitness gyms. A very friendly atmosphere but no nonsense as well - it's a true challenge every time but somehow we finish. I feel great every time I leave, and I have definitely gotten stronger since I started. The midday workout is great for stress relief and energy during the time of day I need it most. I love this place.

I'm a huge fan of the CONTROL class it's an insane workout and I left feeling like I got my butt kicked in the best possible way. The studio is also very cool, and I love that they have heated classes as well. I don't live in Cincinnati anymore, but EVERY TIME I'm in town I make sure to make stopping in a priority!

I first heard about SOS from a few folks when I worked at L Brands. They had a few loyal customers with whom I worked. To be honest, I was a little intimidated when I'd see these folks post about their workouts on social media. I had thought about trying it circa 2017, but was too intimidated (my loss!). But in 2019, I ended up with a stress fracture while marathon training. I was able to barely finish my training for the NYC Marathon, which I did successfully complete in November 2019. But at that point, it was evident that I couldn't just keep running marathons without incorporating strength training into my routine. So in Christmas Week 2019, I started with the 7 class starter pack just to try it out. I even joined Team Tread (their half & full marathon training program)in their Columbus location in January to start training for the Nashville Half in April 2020. Unfortunately for me, my SOS morning routines were abruptly halted in March 2020. But luckily, my team tread registration got me into the "digital studio" which I had no idea what it was at the time. I very quickly uncovered that it's all the same studio instructors and they have recorded classes with new uploads almost daily as well as a huge library of online classes (which as you can imagine has only grown in the past 5 years). I did what everyone else was doing and immediately ordered as many dumbbells, resistance bands, and other equipment to build up a "home SOS studio" and my equipment has been growing ever since. I moved to Arizona in summer 2021, and have continued to be a dedicated Digital Studio user and advocate. Whenever I come home to Ohio (whether Cbus or Cincy), I get giddy at the thought of going to classes in person and it's a treat to choose which classes I'll take and with which instructors. I can honestly say SOS Digital Studio has helped me get in the best shape of my life. I feel like I personally know all of the trainers (I don't have social media anymore, but when I did, I followed all of them, so again, felt like I kew them personally). When I was in Hawaii for my wedding, SO many people were asking me about my arms and complimenting me. I kept trying to tell them about the DS and how special SOS is. I will always be a dedicated and loyal fan. It's become such a part of my routine that I'm on Christmas Break now with my husband in Kansas (where he's from) and I've brought my ankle weights, light weights and loop bands just so I can get some classes in. Thank you, Gretchen and team for helping me be the best version of myself every day! Can't imagine what I'd do without the DS and my SOS training crew! (Only word of advice to newbies- the System DOES work! Don't skip out on any classes. As you can imagine, being a marathon runner, I favored all of the cardio classes. But it wasn't until I really started incorporating High & Tight as I prepared for my wedding that I noticed the chiseled arms that I'd always wanted. It's a well-rounded program that works wonders as long as you incorporate ALL of the classes). Particularly about the Cincy location, I love the rooms they have (1 dedicated to The Course, 1 for Ebb and High & Tight and another for In The Mix and Control). You can tell it was built after the Columbus locations! I also have only been here about 7 times total (since I'm more from the Columbus area). But both instructors Tyler and Emma have remembered me. Emma is for sure my favorite instructor. I was super spoiled this past Thanksgiving and had her for three straight days of classes! Oh how I wished I lived closer!

I first encountered Joe at the Mercy Healthplex in Anderson Township, where he was that facility's top trainer as measured by client revenue. After working with him for a few months, I realized why he was in such demand. Joe evaluates a client's stated objectives and the client's attitude and appetite for training, then provides an effective approach that doesn't overwhelm the client's ability to perform. In my case I asked Joe to keep it fresh, providing a variety of exercises to keep our sessions interesting. With his depth of knowledge, providing variety was easy for him. I never knew you could work so hard without actually touching a piece of iron. He introduced me to bands, balls and moves that relied solely on the weight of my own body, mixing these in with more traditional exercises using all of the equipment available at the Healthplex. Joe eventually opened his own practice, working out of a large, bright suite in an office building in the Cherry Grove area. I was skeptical, doubting that working with such a reduced array of equipment would be as enjoyable or effective. One session relieved me of those concerns. My workouts leave me both exhausted and energized, and I feel no lack of equipment or variety. I bring my ipod, which docks in Joe's sound system, so I work out to my own music. The smaller, quieter space actually allows for more communication and less distraction. Finally, I would point out that, as an older client (over 60), my body is more prone to injury. Joe's work with me has never produced an injury, but he has often had to work around injuries (usually inflamed tendons and ligaments) and help in facilitating their repair. That kind of skill is invaluable to me at my age. In summary, anybody with a certificate can load a barbell and play drill instructor. The true professional produces consistent results while sustaining the client's commitment to a program. Based on my experience, Joe Moses is best in class.
