I told them I would take a week of personal training. for 89.99 They signed me up for 52 weeks at $400 a month over $4000 for a year. I'm 73 years old I would never sign up for such ridiculous payments to get out of the contract I had to pay $200 and they still charge me 89.99for a session I never had do not go there. Don't do it. Horrible customer service and shady business practices. It is nearly impossible to cancel the membership, as the manager avoids you at all costs, even standing us up for a scheduled meeting. And even after you get a confirmation of cancellation they KEPT CHARGING US. read more

I would think twice about getting a membership at anytime fitness. not only are they a lot more expensive then other gyms, in the contract you sign, there is a section that states if you want to cancel, it is your 30 day cancel request. which means you still have access to the gym for 30 more days and we are going to charge you 2 more payments. crooks! Who does that?! If I'm canceling my membership, it could be for many different reasons. What if I can no longer afford the membership? You're doing to still charge me an additional month?! I would never refer this gym to anyone! Also, I went there some months back with my son who is 13. The guy working there at the time said it was illegal for minors to be in the gym under 16. Which I know is a lie. I went back later to cancel my membership and the lady was trying to talk to me about memberships for minors, she said he is able to come but he would need a membership, which costs the same as my membership. In Montville bathroom maintenance fell by the wayside shower smells like pee, no garbage bag in the garbage can for a few weeks little containers still on the floor that have been there for a few months and a slip shower rub has been removed so the floor is bare with no rug at all toilet seems like it has a clog read more

Watch out for this gym. I am trying to get in touch with a manager for days now. I am being charged for training sessions that I am not receiving and with no possibility of getting these back. They want you to pay upfront the total price but then the trainer cancels or charges me when I cancel telling me "I will get paid" when I asked her about it. This gym is extremely well maintained and clean. A good indication, compared to other gyms, even in the chain, is that the sinks sparkle and the bathrooms are spotless. The space is just about right and the equipment is very well maintained, another excellent sign. Dawn, the owner is an active owner and is concerned with quality. Little touches like perfectly inflated stability balls (frequently not the case in other gyms) and even the highest quality burst proof stability ball rated for up to 2200 pounds (much more expensive than the average stability ball. Fruit and Purell at the entrance/exit are another nice thoughtful touch. Convenient location ( I bring my car for service at Girard Ford down the road and go to the gym while my car is being serviced) and the Stop&Shop and Home Depot in the same shopping center. read more

I love this place. And no I'm not a paid reviewer. I joined back in February of this year. I forgot what I paid to join, but not even 24 hours later one of the owners called me and said 'I'm so sorry, we overcharged you $50 please come pick it up at your convenience'.... seriously? I had no idea and I would have never questioned it. They could have kept it and I would have never been the wiser. Also, I had been going consistently for a few weeks and got sick and missed about 2 weeks. Dawn CALLED me and asked if everything was ok and if I was still happy with my membership! This place is always spotless. I've been going in the early morning hours lately and half the time I'm the only one there, so there is NEVER a wait for a machine. I have been around 6pm, (the busy time) and there are quite a few people there. But even then, I didn't have to wait for a machine. You get what you pay for when it comes to gyms. Yea it's 20 bucks more a month then your favorite 'lunk alarm' gym but it's oh so worth it. read more

When I first joined this gym, I was definitely second guessing myself as it was my first gym. I knew I was paying more than my friends, but you can't beat the location and the trainers there are serious about what they do and so you get some serious results. I was also nervous since Anytime Fitness company has such a bad rep online in general. Since joining, I have moved a couple different times and have experienced a few different gyms, and I have to say I miss this gym!! I've yet to find anything like it and I truly wish this were still my gym. It's the cleanest, most well kept gym I've ever been to and the trainers were always there to assist no matter what you needed. Everyone working out there was friendly and would help you work or adjust a machine if you needed it. Also, there is a large room set aside if you need to work out alone with some floor space or if you wanted to work out with a film on a large projector. The atmosphere is amazing, the advice and knowledge is solid and when I did need to cancel, it was the easiest cancellation process I've ever experienced with anything. There were no fees, no hassles, no paperwork. I highly recommend this gym to anyone serious about working out. It is a privilege I greatly miss. read more

Judging by the previous reviews clearly all are paying members who have been asked to write a review for this gym in Uncasville. I was informed about a 14 day free trial at anytime fitness. I was looking for a gym closer to home that I could use 24 hrs. As an Uncasville resident I thought this would be a perfect fit but also wanted to explore my options before making a final decision, and what better way then with a "free trial". First let me start off by saying that upon walking into the gym and mentioning this; Dawn treated me like some type of free loader from the get go. She is extremely socially awkward and conversation was very uncomfortable. Before I left she told me I had to pay $20 for a key and it can be refunded at the end of the trial. No mention that the key is optional during this time mind you. The experience was just awkward (if you've ever met this women you would understand) I dreaded going back, and when I finally did over a week later I decided to just return my key that day since I had doubt I would be back for another workout at that gym before the two week trial was over and didn't want to be charged. Upon entering the gym she watched me take my jacket off and start on a machine and then came up and asked me to swipe my card outside. I told her this was only my second time here and I wasn't sure where to swipe, and also that I was just doing a 14 day trial and that I should actually return my key at that time before I began my workout because I wasn't sure that I would be back before my trial was up (and I undecided as to if I wanted to join yet or not) As she returned my $20 bill and took their key back she said: "Well then you might as well just leave there's no reason to continue your workout here if your not going to join. It's a busy day." Mind you there were literally 4 other people In the gym at that time. I kindly took my $20 and said that I would be completing my workout today, it was only day 8 of my free day trial and I only worked out there once! Completely ridiculous if you ask me, and not to mention that the place is so small that I literally had to wait my turn multiple times for people to finish on machines. And there was also a guy sitting on a bench under the only squat rack reading a book! ..No I'm not kidding! Dawn Gilday is not amazing or friendly, sorry other reviewers but your out of your mind!
