I thought I called Cornell Garage Doors LLC. But the company was actually Anytime Garage Door. Technician tried to over sell me. He walked into my garage stood 5 feet away and started giving me a qoute without first looking and inspecting anything. First saying I need to replace everything for over $2k. I should of asked him to leave once I felt unsure because they told me the estimate was free over the phone. But I felt bad and asked him only to fix the broken part. He quoted me $399. He then put the garage door back on the hinges and didn't fix the broken part. Then we had words about that. And he finally replaced the part. He never tested the door by opening and closing it several times at all. I didn't think about that or I would of suggested it. Within 7 hours of him leaving. I open and closed it one time to take out my car. When I returned opening for the 3rd time it broke again. I tried to get a refund and they refused only to say they could come back out and credit the payment to the new price. Then I called another company the next day and they came out and look at it and were so honest with me saying the opposite of Anytime. The completely fixed it for $295. I was in complete shock. I lost the inital money but have I didn't trust them again to come back out. I never make negative reviews because I don't believe in them. But with this company I completely felt scammed and taken advantage of. I even asked for them to keep the cost of the part replacement and just refund the rest. But they wouldn't. read more

Do your homework or skip to Cornell. After calling multiple companies, for replacing my garage door spring, including some referrals, I checked Yelp again. Based on the number and quality of positive review comments, I called Cornell for a quote. The voice mail suggested I send a text which I did. I heard back within 20 min via text. I was quoted $230 total for replacing both springs on my double aluminum garage door. Unlike several local companies, no $75 service fee, no "wait for estimate and then decide but still forfeit $75 if you decline service", no hard sales pressure. This was less than half of what I paid back in 2012 for my first set of springs to be replaced. Lesson learned and I hope this helps others. Also I learned today, springs are determined by the weight of your garage door. You should be able to find the weight usually on the inside side on a sticker. With the weight, most reputable companies should be able to quote you over the phone or give you a decent ballpark. And if your exact current spring "isn't on the truck," another size and length may work. read more

IF RICHARD HAD DONE THE REPAIR, it would have been 1/3 the price and done PRECISELY correctly. UNfortunately, this was NOT done by Richard, his company WAS Cornell Garage door and he and Beau BUILT this double-steel door and it LQQKS and works fabulous. Richard, help! This was NOT done right, the spring should lay flat and it should be as quiet as (if not quieter than) it used to operate. :-( These 2 ANYTIME guys came over and ALL that was needed was to replace the spring that had lasted 12 years! (FYI yes the door opens with a Genie opener.) Kaleb was instructing Logan and there was a bit where he said, no, you should have put the pliers on BEFORE you did that...huh? Why does this Logan not know his job? I was VERY uncomfortable. I should have just sent them away but I figured OF COURSE they can put in a new SPRING correctly--plsu OMG the cost is VERY high! The old spring that lasted 12 years was FLAT with no 'slack'. This spring is bent/humped in center, does NOT lay flat, and I have it on good authority that it SHOULD be totally FLAT! I called them at 10:00am on a Friday. The person on the phone was very friendly and got me scheduled for that afternoon. The installer showed up at the end of the day on a Friday afternoon and was also very friendly and seemed very competent. He looked over our older system, explained where our problems were and gave us a quote. He had all of the parts on his truck and ready to go. He installed new springs and opener, oiled the rollers, cleaned everything he touched. When he was done he explained how everything worked right down to the fact that the color LEDs on the safety eyes should be different colors (so that we wouldn't think anything was wrong). The opener and garage door are so smooth and quiet that it still surprises me. He finished up at 8:00pm and was just as friendly as he was when he started. SCAM Artist****I called this place to reset the code on my garage door keypad at my investment property. I had been sweeping in the garage while I was waiting on the guy from this place. The guy shows up and tells me I'm using the wrong lightbulbs and it caused my board to go bad. I told him I didn't think there was anything wrong with the the board because it had been working fine up until that day. He tried selling me a new garage door opener for about $1000. I told him again I didn't think the board was bad. He shrugged his shoulders and walked off. After he walked off I discovered that the wire on one of the sensors had come loose. After I reattached it the garage worked great. I called someone else to reset the code and they told me how to do it on the phone free of charge. read more

I reached out to this company to get a quote on a new garage door because they had such great reviews. Two days later I had not been contacted so I reached back out. They responded to my 2nd inquiry with a 3 hour window to have a representative measure and give an estimate. 2 hours and 40 minutes into my 3 hour window I still hadn't been contacted. I called, and was told the person that was scheduled to come was busy doing another install. Then they asked me to reschedule to another 3 hour window that day. I wasn't happy they wasted my first 3 hours of time so I said, no I will not give them another 3 hours of my time that day. Keep in mind I had to call them, I'm not sure if they intended to call me or just stand me up without notice. The company called me back about 30 minutes later to apologize and offered to email me an estimate later that day rather than reschedule another 3 hour block of my time. Steer clear of this company!!! I called the number I had for Gary's garage repair from six years ago and was connected to this company. I guess they must've bought him out. They were able to get somebody out to fix the spring on my garage door. The guy who came out told me I also needed some other things replaced(I now feel that wasn't true) and told me the price would be around $1300 which ended up being $1417 with the surcharge they added. I thought that seemed extremely high considering I didn't pay nearly half of that when I replaced the spring six years ago. He was done within 20 minutes and I paid him reluctantly feeling that I was being way over charged. I was able to get a hold of my brother who is a contractor right after they finished and he called Cedar Park Overhead doors. Together we were able to get a quote from Cedar Park Overhead Doors for exactly what was just done at my house. The total with tax at Cedar Park came up with was $818. I was charged $600 more using this company than one of the other competitors in the area for the exact same job. I also was told by the technician that if I needed to replace that garage door it was gonna be $3500. Cedar Park overhead doors told me that that price for a new door would be $2100. As you can see, they are gouging people with their pricing and I feel like this guy probably figured I didn't know what was going on so he could charge whatever he wanted. I have called the office at least 7 times in the last two days to try to get a manager to review the invoice and to find out why I was charged $600 more than I should've been. I am being told that all the managers are busy and they'll get back to me. I did speak with somebody who claimed to have higher authority yesterday and she basically told me that because I signed the contract there's no way I would get anywhere with complaints to the Better Business Bureau so good luck. Before basically hanging up on me, she told me she would send me an email with all of their pricing. Needless to say, she never sent me anything and when I called back an hour later, I was told they were still waiting for a manager to call me back so obviously she wasn't even a manager but was pretending to be one. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I would highly recommend never ever using them! If they respond to this review saying that I need to call their office to talk to somebody and go over the invoice that is just their generic response because they never return your calls and the people that try to go over the invoices are just customer service reps that don't do anything. read more

I have a Garage door and opener that is about 2 years old and door seems noisy compared to our Martin Garage Doors. Called Anytime garage doors and the technician came out and checked door and found that nothing was wrong and the door is normal. I guess we were spoiled by our Martin Garage door opener. Told me that need to change wheels and replace to a Chamberlain or Liftmaster that is much quieter and has the WIFI integrated into the Door opener it self. Best thing of all it did not cost me anything for them to come out. I will use them for my annual maintenance and future wheels and door opener replacement. read more

This review is the opposite of the first review I made for them about 10 years ago. I am sad to say that the experience was awful, even the free estimate seemed a scam. The scheduling team is iffy, one staff awfully rude and uninterested in bringing business. My first appointment was cancelled after I had called to make sure they were coming on the day they suggested. They kept me waiting way after the time and later called me to say that 2 technicians had their vehicles down. My second appointment happened; and, I received a verbal quote of something I had not requested. I needed a bottom seal replacement and the technician suggested a door restoration for over $1,500. The seal was $185. The outrageous part is that a new door for the type I had is about 1.2K. So, I questioned the technician the reasoning on his suggestion. Right away, he reduced the verbal quote to about $800- still outrageous for an old door that needed one section of seal. Over the phone, he explained that I could do the seal the day after and that the quote would come to me by email. No call or email after that- ever. I called to know if they could do the seal and the scheduler Sunny was so unpleasant over the phone that I doubt the owner is recording service calls. She did email me the quote, nothing of the $800 version but the highest amount. In my opinion and based on my experience, the technician was out to get morons that do not know about pricing or are in a rush. No follow-ups or any contact after the quote. Suggesting a $1500 'restoration' on a basic non-insulated 1995 door is dishonest and deceitful. A few days later, an honest service quoted a new door installation- not needed- for $1700. And, Lowe's has similar doors at about 1.2K new. So, go ahead and look elsewhere. read more

I called my old company that had apparently been bought by Anytime Garage Door. The guy came out--after a few appointment delays--and told me he had the right garage door opener for replacement. I let him do anything he thought necessary. Bill with tax and 6% surcharge came to $1,137.38. This was done 10/4/2022. By January (around two months), the door was not working. I called the office scheduled an appointment. They called back and said a technician would not be available and rescheduled for two weeks later. Called again and moved it to one week later. I had a conflict come up and had to reschedule. When I called back to get an appoint in February they said they could not get a technician scheduled for five weeks as they were training people. This would have put me without a garage door for almost 90 days. When I told the person this was unacceptable, she said do you want the appointment or not? I called back and they found someone named Rex from AA Affordable Doors. He never called me. I called him and he said he was waiting to hear back from someone in Lakeway and would call me. He didn't call again, so I called him. He said he had another appointment and would come by on Saturday. I called him on Saturday and asked him an ETA because I had errands to run. He told me to go ahead and run the errands and he would call me. I did so, he never came or called me back. After that he didn't answer my calls. I called a different group had a Liftmaster installed and it works great for about $500 less. It is too late to say "in short," but Anytime Garage Door in my case was a bad product, expensive product, and outside the initial call, bad service to downright insulting. Oh yeah file your warranty within 90 days or its toast. read more
