BEWARE. Make sure you check your receipt! We were came in on a Saturday night 9pm for a party of 11. We were quoted $100 dollars/hr for a room that didnt fit everyone. Two people in my party ended up standing the whole time and we were elbow to elbow. This is fine because what can you expect from ktown karaoke. We were initially told that we would get $100 dollar drink credit for our two hour stay. They charged a 25% automatic tip to our bill that we were not told before. Their website also did not mention an automatic gratuity for 25%. Our total ended up being mid $500 for two hours. This is after they kept pushing us to order drinks to meet our drink minimum. We ended up leaving the ordered drinks unopened. However upon receipt they did not give us the credit we were initially told. When we question this there was a long laundry list of reasons how we were given the credit but it doesn't not show on the itemized receipt. The numbers just did not make sense as we struggled to meet the drink minimum. On the itemized they told me they already included the credit. In terms of their karaoke system it leaves a bit to be desired. They use YouTube. Theres one shared anytime YouTube account where you can add songs on queue. It was pretty inefficient as random songs would pop up from other peoples rooms. You also cannot insert a song into queue or it will reset the queue. Our tiny room got pretty hot during the summer time. By the time we left we were all sweating. In summary please double check your reciept and know what you are paying for. read more

I would like to point on that the point of service in a KTV joint can vary greatly from day to day so I can see why people could have such polarizing reviews of this place with that being the case, I would like to put my vote to the five star side of reviews here. Like most KTV places in Ktown, you are traversing a tall apartment building like complex to get to this business. Upon entering you are bombarded with music, lights and smoke. Now this should be the point in which you decide if this is the right place for you. Did you come here with the intention to drink, dance, and sing the night away? Well if that's the case, you found the spot. If you wanted an intimate experience where you could have a quiet night with the gang, this is def not the place. The staff overall was really good, they weren't on top of you and niether did they ignore you. Which is what I would imagine you would want when you're renting a private room with friends. When ordering, the drinks and food arrived at a reasonable amount of time. While they have a pretty decent menu when it comes to food. I'm not sure if this would be priority for most people so i'll leave this here. I had the chicken wings and fries and they were top notch. obviously made to order, the fresh fried food was perfect after drinking for hours. Side note: I don't mind the youtube setup. I haven't even gone yet and I'm already pretty unhappy with this process. You have to put down a deposit for the tab and you can't get it back. Their reservation process is pretty sketchy. They call you after you fill out a form and you have to do a Venmo deposit. Unfortunately my husband answered the call and we didn't get a chance to talk about it before, so now we're stuck with this reservation when there are clearly better options. This place is genuine garbage. Unless your group you're going with is gonna be fun and actually have everyone sing along it's gonna be awkward and boring. Not only do they try and tax the hell out of you in price you don't even get what you pay for because this speaker is so garbage you can yell louder than it. Genuinely the speaker is so bad and so quiet the space is also pretty cramped and you play music off an iPad on YouTube genuinely this place is probably the worst you could go to. You could tell they're sketchy just by the way they act outside the door. And I'm not just being emotional about this: --Press the button on the wall to have someone come and take your drink order. No one came after several tries. --Let's order some of the mixed cocktails. No, you can't. We only have "simple" drinks (your guess is as good as ours). There was no alcohol in the --Can we have a little more time because our screen shutdown and we had to reboot the entire thing? "No you can't, your time is up and that's that." --Here's our credit card for the underwhelming drinks. No, you can't pay with credit card. We can only take Venmo. Calling this place the worst karaoke establishment in NYC would be a compliment to the lackluster, dirty, expensive and unprofessional experience our group had at Anytime Karaoke. After ascending the filthy stairs up to the 4th floor of the building, a man of few words escorted us into a small room with an old tv, dingy sound system and an iPad mounted to the wall. He then instructed us on how to search for a karaoke video on YouTube and then cast it to the TV. That's right, we paid a STEEP price to browse YouTube for an hour. By the way, this cost us $80 for the hour of so called karaoke PLUS a $100 food/drink minimum PLUS a 25% automatic gratuity. So alright we get over the fact that we're paying to sit in a room on YouTube and head to the menu so we can meet the $100 minimum. We press a strange button on the wall to call a "server" in to take our order and a woman comes in, says nothing and we begin to order. We began ordering cocktails because 80% of the menu is cocktails and she says "we don't have cocktails right now, only simple mixed drinks". I began to look around for the cameras because I knew we were surely getting punk'd at this point, but nope, this was reality. We continued scavenging around the menu until we could finally order $100 of "simple mixed drinks". What a joke. In the midst of our experience, the TV stopped working for ~ 3 minutes. When we hit our 1 hour mark, one of our party members stepped out and kindly asked if we could finish the last song since the TV wasn't working the entire time. She was told we'd be charged if we stayed extra. After being asked a second time, we were permitted to finish it. Now that we were through channeling all of our rage for this joke of a business through our passionate vocals, it was time to face the bill. A total of $265 for an hour of karaoke and 8 drinks. We provided a credit card and after minutes of waiting, the man at the front says their credit card machine is broken and we'd have to venmo them. What a joke! Considering how many other karaoke spots are nearby I would absolutely avoid coming here. We were disappointed in the customer service when there was a miscommunication and the staff was incredibly rude to us. That alone wouldn't make me do a review but how they operate their business was concerning to me. The advertised price for karaoke rooms is not accurate as they also require a minimum purchase for each hour you're in the room. So if it's $30 an hour it's that plus $30 minimum spend on food/drink. If you do a second hour you'll have to hit that minimum again within the hour. We overheard a group come in and they were being told it would be $100 an hour + $100 minimum. Additionally they automatically included gratuity but did not inform us. We received a non-itemized receipt and were shocked at the price so we asked for an itemized version. Only then were we told they already included tip. We were only two people there for two hours so we never would have thought tip was included. It's predatory to do this at a place where alcohol is being served and people may not realize and tip again. This was truly the WORST karaoke spot I have ever been to in ktown. The remote was so wonky, it required one person to hold it upside down while squeezing the batteries in and the other jammed buttons as HARD as possible to make it work. And even then it barely worked most of the time. The songs and lyrics were always off synch with each other, which made it really weird and difficult to sing. They also jammed us into a tiny room when we had reserved the biggest room for 15 people - when there were other bigger rooms where fewer people arrived after us. The food and drinks were ridiculously over priced - $30 for an order of fries that, at BEST would be a snack for one person and $230 for a $25 bottle of Jamison whiskey. Mark ups are common and I definitely expect that as a life long New Yorker, but I was completely shocked by how bad it was. AND!! When you first enter, you go up a set of stairs in this run down staircase. The 'bouncer' was sitting on a stool on the 2nd floor basically half asleep.... then we continued up the stairs to the 4th floor where we entered the venue. The "karaoke" was $110/ hr for a room including alcohol and when we entered the room, it was literally a ipad with youtube set up. We couldn't hear any of the songs because the music in the bar was blasting over the volume of karaoke so we decided to leave. They charged us for our 1st round of drinks. It was creepy and felt almost unsafe in this place, so much that my boyfriend was scared to leave me at the bar to use the bathroom quickly before we leave. They charge a MANDATORY 25% tip (even though it was shitty service) and there's a $10 drink minimum per person (they also did not card us even though some of us definitely look underage). Drinks tasted ok but not worth the price. You go in thinking it'll be $50 per hour, but the bill will turn out to be three times what you expect. The staff were so rude to us! When we got there the music was SO LOUD and we sort of though okay the karaoke rooms must be somewhat soundproof but they were not at all. So then they bring us into a room that is disgusting. The upholstery on the seats was like crumbling odd and the room was tiny. We had initially reserved a room for 8 but then changed it to 12 and got confirmation that the change went through but the room would be a tight squeeze for 8 people and when we asked if this was the right room they said we had reserved for 8 people and when we showed them the change they confirmed that they had it on their end and went back to get a manager who just came in and said technically this room could fir up to 13 people (that seemed like a lie) and that the bigger rooms had been reserved (you know who else reserved a bigger room? US!) So then the woman helping us every time we asked a question super nicely she would disappear and go get her manager who was being just like openly hostile to us. Like we inquired about ordering one of the packages for bottle service and rather than being like cool sure he was like almost yelling at us. I really don't y sweats why, we were being so nice and just trying to clarify what was included if we bought bottle service. The one good thing about the night was that when the time we had reserved was up they came in and rudely kicked us out of the room--we were worried they were going to charge us for an extra hour if we went even one minute over so it was nice-ish that they came in 10 minutes before we were done and let us know. I would highly recommend not going here. The food was not good (and was priced as if you were buying food for the group to share but then they would bring it out and it was like snacks for one person). They told us how much it would cost an hour and we proceeded with it. Once we got in the room we were instructed to find songs by scanning a barcode which didn't work for most of our phones because their website was super slow. We were there for an hour and as planned we left on time. When paying the bills, we see a 100 dollars extra charge and a 45 dollars tip we never agreed to pay. Our karaoke bill itself was 95 dollars but they made us pay 240 dollars. We asked them what's going on and they told us apparently they charge 100 dollars if dont get any drinks. Charging us is one thing but he NEVER mentioned this before letting us in to the private room. We argued back and forth because we didn't want to pay 100$ for something we didnt even get. In the end, they gave us 2 bottles of drinks because we already paid for it and we left. Please do yourself a favor and not come here. The manager was very rude when we asked him why were we charged. I got there about twenty minutes early for my reservation and the bartenders, to their credit, were all very nice. I told them my party was running late but I'd keep the bar tab running. However, I was first told that I could book 80 dollars for each hour, but I had to include food (which was initially 80.00 more, later I was told that it was 100.00 more).
