Right now I'm in the stage where my throat is numb from the numbing medicine causing strange, swallowing, but swallowing fine nonetheless. Day 2: In addition to getting Afrin and sinus rinse, be SURE to get popsicles! Popsicles are lifesaver for the throat the first couple of days!!! Today my sinuses are kind of swollen so it's hard to breathe through my sinuses, but I was expecting that. Day 3: just woke up to take some Tylenol and I am not in pain, but the biggest news for me is that I can breathe through both sides of my sinuses, and the majority of the swelling is gone!!! Forgot to take the steroids this morning and my other antibiotics so I'm a little stuffy today, but still feeling really good !!! Day 8: Every day is a little bit better than the day before, and I am sounding less "sinusy". Just did my evening, sinus rinse and had quite a bit of debris come out of my left sinus cavity under my cheekbone. It feels crazy because a lot of the pressure that I was feeling in my teeth seems to be subsiding.

When I tried to call it was said "a supervisor removed you and they are not here right now" So if you you disagree with their practices and challenge the items that never took place, you are ghosted. You might ask.... was I rude? No, we never even had a conversation over the phone. Did you do something to them? Yes I challenged charges for items that never took place in the appointment. I never even received a Dr's report from that appointment. I'm guessing because the Dr didn't want to put in writing what never took place. Do yourself a favor and avoid this scam of a place at all costs!

The staff is friendly and attentive. Jacqueline listens and asks follow up questions, and then listens again. I cannot stress enough how important it is to feel like you're being heard, and their asking follow up questions are a good sign that they are actually listening - rather than just thinking about the next task they're going to perform or what they'll say next. I've never felt like she's talking down to me, or like I'm not important. I know that they don't allow a lot of time for office visits, but I always feel like I'm not a bother and can take as much time as I need. I use this office for Gyn, HRT, and weight loss (GLP-1). I moved to San Diego and have maintained my relationship with them and use her telehealth services. The rule is that I have to visit once a year, and I've already scheduled a trip to AZ to visit her and some friends (obviously not at the same time). The front desk staff is friendly and help make you feel comfortable. I just had an email exchange with a gal named Tamara Greene about ordering my mammy and she was fast and super nice. (ps - I very rarely share photos while reviewing places, because I prefer to leave the photography to the professionals, but you're especially not going to get a photo of my visit here..... Amanda then came and called me to the hearing booth. She informed me on what was going to happen with the hearing test. Amanda is a very compassionate and educated woman who truly cares about her patients. After the test was over we went to her office where she explained the results and her recommendations. She patiently listened to me and we came to a conclusion. There is no other audiology office that takes care of their patients as Affiliated Audiology Consultants! Are these new drs willing to work or is it just a social status: I AM A DR..... Sorry but I have been myself a dr for many years in a different country: I was at the office in person, welcoming the patients (no need of an unsmiling and seemed to be bothered person) attentive to the patient and taking time to talk to them. The attitude I encountered in this office in the last months is surprising, shameful and unacceptable. It is so far from the Hippocratic Oath that I took, that these drs took. It is amazing but when back home I went to the portal and could not get into. It took a few minutes for this unsmiling and seemed to be bothered lady to take me out of the portal, meaning I cannot get my file to go to a new dr. This lady will have another visit from me because my file belongs to me. Please AVOID this office, but anyway I don't give a long time before this office disappears. My husband went to Dr. Haegen as a referral after our dentist saw what might be a pocket of…read moreinfection in the sinus from an old root canal. We were hopeful that we might gain insight into a few recent health issues, so we were grateful for the referral. Dr. Haegen's office got approval for the CT scan through our insurance and we felt like we had all the info we needed. Dr. Haegen performed the CT scan and a nasal endoscopy during the visit. The information we received at the end of the visit was that my husband had a slightly deviated septum and a nasal polyp, neither of which was causing him any problems. Dr. Haegan said that doing repairs to either could cause more damage than surgery would probably fix. Two weeks later, we got a bill for almost $500!!! My husband initially called and spoke with someone who went over everything and apologized that the office hadn't communicated what the copays were. She said the way the office gets around this is by having people sign a blanket form accepting financial responsibility when they come in. When I called to ask additional questions, I was told that the form my husband signed in the waiting room "clearly explained" that there were procedures that might not be fully covered by insurance for which he would be responsible, and if he didn't want the nasal endoscopy or CT scan, he should have said no. All of this was said with a lot of attitude and no desire to help in any way...other than the doctor and the office. If you choose to go to this office, I would ask A LOT of questions about the exact costs, if there are any procedures they can skip, and I wouldn't count on them looking out for your best interests in any way. They won't.

It didn't feel like a real medical practice. And it felt like the medical staff had to "deal" with my after the initial sales pitch. There was a 2 page print out for post & pre-op care. If I asked questions or raised suspicions about any steps, of course I was made to feel like I was stupid or not getting something that was very simple. When I remember to make my annual checkup with enough notice, I meet with Dr. Katz. Otherwise, I have met with several of his nurse practitioners. I have been pleased with my interactions with Dr. Katz and the nurse practitioners, who I feel all listen to me, provide updates in a thoughtful manner, and follow-up afterwards with any referrals or prescriptions. There is an automated system that can connect people with the front desk, voicemail system, or provide other system as need be. When you're speaking with the front desk, they are quite helpful whether they answer questions or help schedule or reschedule an appointment. Any paperwork is submitted and charges are made in advance or following the appointment so that you do not need to worry about either while you're checking in for your appointment. Any bloodwork is done in the office instead of going to a separate location (as they used to do a few years back). Needless to say, it's very convenient to work with the Paradise Valley Family Medicine office. As for Dr. Katz and the nurse practitioners, they have gone out of their way to make calls, do research, and follow-up with me between appointments to ensure that I am taken care of whether it is a sleep study, having a prescription be honored, or even having a prescription successfully make it to the nearby pharmacy. They use a portal, which is easy for sharing test results, visit summaries, or sending messages back and forth. Get offer primary care, well child exams, well woman examinations, annual physicals, sports and camp physicals, adult and pediatric immunizations, preventative health care, and pre-operative clearance. To see Dr. Katz or another doctor, make an appointment about a month in advance. You can see a nurse practitioner about two weeks in advance, and they are wonderful! I have enjoyed working with Brooke and Allison in the past. They are typically open Monday through Thursday from 8 AM to 5 PM and on Friday from 8 AM to 12 noon. Holiday hours differ a bit. All in all, I'm glad to go to the Paradise Valley Family Medicine and recommend them to anyone needing a primary care physician.
